CHAPTER 17

I was on my way home until I saw that snow ball. Since that I still don’t have an exchange gift and he did ask for snow so I think this is closest I can get.

"Excuse me." I called the sales lady

"How much does these cost?"

"The small ones cost 12,984 won and the larger ones are 20,775 won." She said.

Well these things are expensive. There’s so many... what will I get? 

"To whom will you give it?" She asked me.

"To a friend. a guy actually." I said.

"Sigh" I sighed.

"We still have other things you can choose from." The sales lady said.

"I-I l’ll take it." I said

"The smaller one?" She asked.

"The big one please." I said

"Okay. I’ll get a new stock, the cashier is on the right aisle."

"Thanks." I said.

So in the end I still got the snow ball... seriously snow? Sure everybody loves snow but who wishes snow as a present? 

I went straight home and helped my mom which by the way ruined my perfect moment with Seunghyun oppa. urghh...

"Mom I’m home" I said

"What took you so long?" My mom asked.

"I wasn’t finished buying presents until you called." I said

"Is that so? Sorry dear." My mom said

"Its okay. So what will I start?" 

"Get the box beside the coffee table." She said

"Your going to wrap all these presents???" I asked

"That’s why I called you" She said

"Figures..."

"Looks like you bought so much already." As she looked over the paper bags.

"I don’t know if that’s enough already." 

"You bought cookies from cafe France?" My mom said.

"I didnt bought it, a friend did." I said.

"Who Jiyoung?"

"Its not Jiyoung mom." Is she suspecting something between us?

"Is there something your hiding from me? Are you and Ji young going out together? You two seem to hang out often." Guess she does.

"We don’t hang out with just the two us. We have some other company." I said

"But still, the only reason why I allow him to take you is because I have this mother instinct that I feel your safe as long as your with him." Can she even hear herself?! Seriously.

"We’re friend’s mom f-r-i-e-n-d-s." I spelled it out loud for her.

"Seriously chearin the guys fetches you home almost everyday it’s so obvious that he’ll be asking you the question anytime soon."

"He’s just a friend period." Urghhh. Mom’s sometimes.

"But who bought you the cookies?"

Uhh-ohhh here goes another one.

"A-a another friend..." I said.

"A boy or a girl?"

"Ahhmm... a boy." I said uneasily

"Let me guess is also your friend?" She said.

"You couldn’t have said it anymore better mom." I said. 

"Who knew my baby has so many boylets." I can’t believe I’m hearing this from .

"Urghh... whatever."

After wrapping never ending presents, fortunately it ended somehow. I went upstairs and rested. Bom, Minzy, Dara totally ditched me for a reason God only knows, I know that I was wrong but they have to at least understand me. Can’t I hang out with my other friends? Do they always need to let themselves join in? But I do admit it. I miss them but right now I feel so mad at them that I think it’s still a long way for me to make up with them.

I received a message from Hanbyul unnie

"Now I'm really getting excited" I said as I smiled looking at her text.

I opened my closet and...

Sh*it. What am I going to wear??? I was so occupied buying gifts I totally forgot to buy new clothes!

Wait... are we going to have an overnight?

W-with se-seunghyun oppa???

Why am I feeling so uneasy? It’s not only seunhyun oppa who's there. There's Hanbyul unnie, Jiyoung oppa, Daesung oppa and a lot more. No need to nervous.

Maybe I'll ask Hanbyul unnie first.

I went down stairs and ask permission to mom if I could stay overnight.

"Mom!"

"Yeah?" My mom answered.

"If i asked permission for an overnight will you allow me???" I asked.

"Where is it? To Minzy's again?" Mom said. Now that she mentioned it, we always have an overnight at Minzy's place since her house is the bigger than ours.

Based from her tone I guess she won't be allowing me.

"U-u-uhmm. Uhh-hu..." I said uneasily.

"If it’s at her house, I'll allow you"

"Thank you, thank you, than you!!!" I kissed my mom’s cheeks and packed my things 

I’ve packed up my things and wrapped up my exhange gift. Exchange gift... I remembered when I got Seunghyun oppa to help me. Hahaha! Now I think of it I always meet him in unexpected places.

“Ding dong.”

"Chearin, Jiyoung is at the door."

"Okay I'm coming in a bit" I went down.

"Good afternoon Mrs. Lee" Jiyoung bowed politely

"Hi Jiyoung. Do you want to come inside?" My mother offered.

"No need Mrs. Lee." Jiyoung said politely.

“Let’s go” I said looking at Ji young oppa. 

He got my bag and this time he brought a car.

“Bye mom!” I said as we started moving.

"S-so… who did you pick?" He asked about exchange gift.

"Did you asked for- never mind." It wouldn’t be fair if I asked him that.

"What?" He asked.

"N-n-nothing." I said.

"Your mom told me something." He said.

"What?! What did she said?" I said that made him startled.

"She said you were talking about me earlier?" 

SHE-DID-NOT-JUST-SAID-THAT.

"Ohhh… y-yeah about that… t-that’s nothing. Aha-ha-ha" I said. 

My phone was vibrating and it was Hanbyul unnie.

"Unnie?"

"Are you with Jiyoung?"

"Yeah."

"Tell him to hurry up. You two are the only one we’re waiting for, luvers!!!"

"W-w-what? We’re not-" 

"It’s okay Chaerin, everybody knows it!"

"Unnie!"

"Can you pass it to Jiyoung?"

"Sure."

"Jiyoung I don’t know if you really drive so slowly or you just want to spend time with Chaerin all to yourself?"

"Yah! You know I’m not used to driving like how I ride my motorcycle."

"Okay, okay what-ev~~~"

Hangs up

"She hanged up." Jiyoung gave me my phone.

"Do we still have a long way?" I asked.

"Sorry if I’m driving to slow."

"No need to apologize."

"We’re almost there. See that tall house with the big black gate? That’s their family rest house." He said 

"Wow." My eyes were so amazed. She IS rich.

Ji young parked the car and went inside. 

“Ding dong”

"There here!" Han byul unnie said.

"Hi unnie!" I said as I hugged her.

And there they are. All of them. Seunghyun oppa looked handsome. 

Okay enough of fangirling.

"You guys hungry?" Hanbyul unnie asked.

"Let’s eat and watch a movie." Deasung oppa said.

"You know death at the funeral? I know the title seems very unlikely but seriously it’s hilarious!" Hanbyul unnie said.

There were a lot of finger foods.

"Help yourselves guys!" Hanbyul unnie said.

It was funny but I’ve seen it before already. I went to the kitchen and asked for water.

I felt like the door at my left opened and Seunghyun oppa came out of the restroom.

"Aren’t you gonna watch?" He asked me.

"I’ve watched it already, so… yeah." I said as I sat down on the high chairs.

"Can I join you?" He said. 

My heart skipped a hard beat. H-h-he wants to j-join me???

"You want to join me?" I asked.

"Why not." He said then sat on the other side facing towards me.

Sh*it what am I going to say???

Awkward silence much…

"So… how are you two doin’?" He asked

"What do you mean by that?" I said.

"You two and Jiyoung of course." He said so casualy.

"What? Me and Jiyoung oppa? Well what about it?" I asked like I don’t know a single thing in the world but seriously I really don’t know! 

"Nevermind." He said.

Awkward silence again!

"Thanks for the cookies by the way. My mom really enjoyed it." I emphasize the word mom.

"Hahahaha! I’m glad she did." Then we both laughed.

He looks different when he laughs. It gives this innocent, childish, sweet side of him. And who would have thought that could happen to a person by just simply laughing, right?

"So, did you found an e-exchange gift?" He asked.

He stuttered. Why?

"Well… fortunately yeah." I said.

"What are you two doing here?" Hanbyul came inside the kitchen.

"We got thirsty." Seunghyun oppa said. 

"The movie just finished. Let’s go back to the living room." She said.

When we came in, they popped confetti’s and they were singing.

"Yahhh! Don’t scare me like that!" Hanbyul unnie shouted. Them all of us were laughing at her remark.

“This is out thank you to you for letting us stay!” Deasung oppa said.

"Let’s play something!" Jiyoung oppa said.

"I know the perfect game!!! You know tell me a secret???" Hanbyul unnie said while jumping up and down being so excited.

"It’s kind of like spin the bottle but your going the spin the bottle only once and it will determine who will go first. After your turn, pick someone who you like to tell a secret but if that person declines he or she has to drink one shot of whiskey. Are in for it???" She continued.

"GAME!!!" Everyone said and sat on the sofas.

"I’ll spin the bottle!" Senghyun oppa said also getting excited.

And it was going to……….

"Hanbyul!!!" Deasung oppa shouted.

"Okay, okay…Well, 4 years ago I was still young at that time and I don’t know what came over me and it was the first time I ever felt that thing for a… you know…" She was letting us guess.

Then everybody answered one after the other.

"Is he here?"

"A boy or a girl?"

"Of course a boy. Are you insane?!" Unnie said.

"Your brother? I gotta admit he is quite handsome."

"That’s so disgusting Deasung! And talk about inappropriate." Unnie said.

"A teacher?" I said. 

And then she just looked at me smiling.

"Oh my gosh unnie!" I said. I can’t believe I guessed it right!! But I can’t believe she actually had a crush on a teacher!

"Are you serious? Really?!" They said.

"Don’t think of me in a wrong way. And he is not the typical professor that’s old, wrinkled, big nose, with the glasses, nerdy type of teacher! He was my music teacher and was young compared to OTHER teachers FYI. Okay? So I’ll pick now!"

"Don’t pick me okay?" Deasung said with such a cute worried face.

Don’t get the wrong idea. I still like Seunghyun oppa.

"I’ll make sure I won’t pick you! Let’s see…"

"Chaerin!" Just my luck. 

"Me?! B-but."

Secret… Secret… Secret…

I can’t really think of a secret right now. I really don’t have one. Except liking Seunghyun. I can’t tell that!!!

"I really can’t think of a secret right now." I said.

"Don’t make excuses of course you have a secret!" Hanbyul unnie said.

"But seriously. I really don’t."

"Your declining?" Hanbyul unnie asked.

"Yeah?" I said.

"Then you have drink a shot of whiskey then." Hanbyul unnie. Then everybody looked at me.

Even though its my first time to drink without supervision I can’t tell them about Seunghyun oppa and if I make up a story I would be too obvious since I need to stop once in a while to think what’s next. It’s a matter of life and death and I chose to live. So I’ll drink it!

"I’ll drink it." A man said.

But who? That’s the question. 

"I’ll drink it." He said again in much more convincing tone.

"You don’t have to." I said to Seunghyun oppa. Seunghyun oppa my knight and shining armor. Okay corny much.

"Its okay. You look like you’ll be in great guilt if you drink it." He said. I he concern or what?

"Ohhkay…. So who’s next?"

After a while all of them were called and it was Jiyoung’s turn

"Jiyoung is your turn!" Hahaha! Unnie sounded quite drunk but trust me she just volunteered on drinking the shots.

"This is not much of a secret-secret but I haven’t told this to anyone yet. It was only between me and Seunghyun. So at our school before, there was always a batch party for graduating students. Every one anticipated on it especially me and Seunghyun. We liked the same girl and we wanted to ask her out on that night. Me and Seunghyun wanted to act mature and solve this as an adult. But…" Jiyoung oppa stopped.

"But??? Go on." Hanbyul unnie said.

"But on the day before, Seunghyun here had chicken pox so in the end I was the one asked her out. After that we promised not to like the same girl ever again." After his last word he kissed me.

Kissed me. 

All I can hear was screams, clapping and laughter. I was surprised. I can’t believe this guy, this guy kissed me.

"Excuse me." I stood up and noticed everybody looking at me. I went to the parking lot near the car.

I couldn’t think straight. I don’t even know what to think. 

I heard footsteps running at me direction. 

"Chaerin-ah" It was Jiyoung’s voice. He holds my wrist.

"I want to go home." I said.

"Don’t you want to stay longer? It’s just getting fun." He said convincing me.

"No. I don’t know. I just want to go back home." I said.

"Let’s just stay a little longer. Okay?" 

"Fine." I said.

I went to the other direction and walked away. It’s not like I convinced you to drive me home.

"Chaerin! Okay, okay I’ll take you home."

The ride back home was really quiet. Sometimes he asks me but I didn’t talk back and I won’t talk back. Hanbyul unnie texted me.

Why did you go home so early? Its still 7pm.

Sorry unnie. I hope you don’t get the wrong idea but I wasn’t feeling good. I’ll make it up to you next time.

I felt bad lying to hanbyul unnie but what other choice do I have?

He stopped in front of my house. I got out and took my things with me and was about to enter the gate.

"Chaerin." He holds my wrist again.

"I don’t know if I’ve done anything wrong. Please talk to me." You just won’t up would you?

I slapped him.

"That is the problem! You don’t that what you did is wrong!" I said. I felt something was making my eye sight blurry and something hard stuck on my throat that won’t go down. 

"What? I don’t get it?" He said.

"Why did you kiss me?" I said.

"I-I-Its because… Your my girlfriend." He said.

"Your girlfriend? Jiyoung, I never said yes." I said.

"T-then what’s all of this? All these things that we’ve done?"

"Is that what you think all this time?" I said.

"I’m sorry, I’m really sorry Chaerin. I’ll make it up to you next time."

"No, Jiyoung, there will be no next time." I said.

"Ohh…" By he’s tone he really sounded upset and disappointed.

"B-b-but can we still be friends?" He continued.

"Of course. I’ll always be your friend, Jiyoung."

SORRY FOR UPDATING SO LATE!!! I KNOW I WASN’T GOING TO UPDATE THAT FREQUENTLY BUT I NEVER KNEW THAT I WENT ON HIATUS. SINCE ITS SUMMER VACATION ALREADY I’LL DEFINITLY BE BACK ON TRACK SO I HOPE I HAVEN’T LOSE ANY READERS!!!
