So, the bell had rung to signal the end of the school day and I was walking in the hallway, books in hand. Heading for the front door, I glanced at the lounge as I passed. There were people just standing there, talking and laughing to each other. Yet, I envied them. I just wished I could have a close friend, rather than many acquaintances.

I let out a soft sigh, and as I was about to turn back to face the doors, I suddenly felt a forceful bump on my right shoulder. I accidentally dropped my books on the ground in reaction and bent down to pick them up. As I grabbed onto my science textbook, a hand appeared next to mine. I glanced up and saw a boy. When I looked up, his soft brown eyes stared into mine, and we stayed like that for a moment. Snapping out of it, he gave me the warmest smile I'd ever seen. 

"I'm so sorry. Let me help you pick up your books."

I stayed transfixed for a moment, but quickly replied with a soft, "Oh, it's okay. Thank you..."

When we had finished picking up my books, we stood up, and with a nod and a smile, he walked away.

I stared in his direction for a few seconds, still shocked at the sudden encounter. 

For the rest of the day, i couldn't stop thinking about him.
