Chapter 33
Just A GlimpseLizzy’s POV
I was waiting at my father’s office. I called him this morning asking him when he’s free so that we could talk except he has a packed work schedule today so he told me to stop by his office. My father’s a CEO of some business company. When I was younger I rarely saw him because he was always on business trips or working late. I sat in the seat across from my father’s desk. He was busy yelling into his phone. I sighed as I began to fidget with my fingers. I closed my eyes. I wish Nana were here with me. When I looked up, my father had hung up the phone and was staring right at me.
“What did you want to see me about?” he asked gruffly.
“The other day at dinner things didn’t go well. I wanted to explain it to you,” I replied.
“So explain,” he said bluntly.
“I like people. I don’t care about gender. I realized Niel wasn’t the right person for me. But, Nana is. I love her,” I said.
He looked down at his papers and heaved a sigh.
“What am I supposed to do? I can’t tell you who you should and shouldn’t be with. It’ll just take a lot of getting used to. I just hope you’re happy Lizzy-ah,” he said sincerely.
I felt my eyes moisten. I smiled at my father. Nana was right everything was going to be okay.
