Chapter 29
Just A GlimpseLizzy’s POV
We were sitting in my parents’ living room in complete silence. The silence was deafening. Nana was sitting beside me while my parents sat on the couch opposite from ours.
“Mom…Dad…please say something,” I said as my throat tightened.
My father had a very stern look on his face. He looked from me to Nana and back to me again.
“I don’t understand. What do you mean you two are in a relationship?” he asked confused.
“I’m in a relationship with Nana. We love each other,” I explained.
My mother shook her head in disbelief. She couldn’t even look at us; she was avoiding eye contact the entire time.
“What happened to Niel!?” my mother exclaimed.
“We had problems. I wasn’t in love with him,” I replied.
“What do you know about love huh? You’re so stupid! How can you fall in love with another girl?” My mother looked at me with such disgust. I could feel tears brim my eyes.
“Mom,” my lips quivered as I looked to my mother, “I need you to listen to me.”
“I-I can’t.” My mother got up from the couch and left the room. My heart sunk in my chest. I felt like I was being suffocated.
“Dad…” I looked to my father. He sighed and looked down at his hands for a moment. When he looked up his eyes were moist.
“Just leave,” he said.
