"I wish to return to Busan" Jandi announced "As soon as possible. Please"

The room echoed with silence as everyone stared at her , shocked by her sudden wish

"But Jandi.."Somin hesitated "You are still weak. You havent recovered--"

"I am fine" Jandi cut her off. She wasnt someone who was rude enough to cut people off mid sentence but they would never understand the misery she is going through. Two weeks have passed by since her seizure happened and she was still staying at the Jung residence under their 'excessive' care. Hyunjoong had finally called up her parents a day after her seizure and assured them she will be well taken care of till she fully recovers. Only if he realized that you can never really recover from Epilepsy. Jandi heard her mother cry helplessly over the phone as she bit her lip tightly controlling her own tears.

In these two weeks, the Jung family had let her hardly take a step on her own. Infact Granny once got inside the bathroom with her and stood next to her as she peed! Since then, Jandi had to control her pee until none was around and then stealthily get into the bathroom and lock it. Even this was difficult because they were very few instances whn they left her alone. Initially Jandi was thankful for their care but their caregiving was now on the verge of being obsessingly dictative. Jandi just had a seizure, but she felt like a paralyzed person in their prescence. This was  the behaviour every epileptic patient was sick of. Inspite of epilepsy being as common as1 in every 10 people stiil the lack of knowledge about the disease among people was truly apalling.

When Jandi was first diagnosed with epilepsy, she was advised to give up studies but she pursued despite everyone's objections. She wanted to study hard and make herself an influential person so that she could spread awareness about epilepsy. She understood as long as society's misconceptions were not cleared the stigma will never be washed away. Epilepsy was a disease without a definite cure that could overpower you without warning so it was difficult to live with it as it is. But on top of that if the people around you ousted you treating you like a mental patient, it just makes things worse.

Jandi repeatedly tried to make them understand that there was nothing wrong with her and they can stop their obsessive caring, however her words fell on empty ears. But it was DongSun's words that finally pushed her over the edge. Jandi didnt have any chance to hunt for internships for her final year since she came for the concert right before the job fair started and the following events had got engulfed her so much that she didnt make it back to Busan in time. So when DongSun offered her to assist him in his new drama she was thrilled and relieved. But things changed after her seizure

*FLASHBACK*

'Jandi, Dong Sun Sunbae and Jessica unnie are here to see you' Somin opened the door and announced.

Jandi started to get up when DongSun entered the room andhurriedly rushed to her side 'Please dont trouble yourself. You dont have to get up' he said and and carefuly laid her back.

'PLEASE DONT TROUBLE YOURSELF'--that's one statement everyone has been telling her here; she had heard it way too much. Jandi decided to put away her frustration for the moment.

'So how are you now?' Dongsun asked worriedly as Jessica sat the edge of the bed looking at her compassionately

"Healthy as a horse" Jandi exclaimed enthusiastically in the hope that they realize that she was really back to normal. It didnt work as all of their expressions turned even more sympathetic. This is what people didnt understand about epilepsy--an epileptic patient, when the seizure is over, is no different than a normal person. It was stultifying why people failed to realize this basic thing.

"Glad to hear that" Dong Sun said but his face clearly revealed he didnt believe it.

"Sunbae...about the Australia project..when are we starting?" Jandi asked and watched DonSun shoot a hesitant glance towards Jessica.

"Jandi please dont worry about that. Health comes first. You recover then we can sit down with this"DonSun trailed away

"Sunbae...I AM FINE" Jandi emphasized; it was frustrating how everyone refused to believe her. "When does it start?" she asked this time with authority.DongSun and Jessica looked at each other. Jandi saw guilt and inhibition in their eyes. "it has already started hasnt it?" she concluded

Jessica and Dong Sun remained quiet. "Jihoo sunbae?" Jandi asked, hoping against hope that her only opportunity hasnt slipped out of his hands

"He is already there" Jessica replied crushing all her hopes "Jandiya...Dont get us wrong...you're health is our priority right now. We cant let you work right now. If something happens to you how can we answer your parents?" Jessica said

"Hyunjoong had promised we will take care of you and return you to them in perfect health" Somin clarified

Somehow Somin's clarification, Jessica's explanation and DongSun's silence just exacerbated Jandi's misery. Tears started forming in her eyes threatening to pour over.

"Jandi dont worry...I will give you an embellished recommendation letter...you wont have any problem...I will write it well" Dong Sun assured

"I dont need it" Jandi managed to say and laid down pulling the covers over her, her back facing the three of them.

She waited for them to leave and as soon as she heard the door close behind them she got up and took out her phone

Jihoo had just reached his hotel room when his phone vibrated in his pocket. It was Jandi.

"De anneoyong" Jihoo smiled as he picked up the call

"Anneoyong haseyo sunbae...where are you?" Jandi asked

Jihoo was abit startled at her question. He looked around his hotel room,"Me? I am at home" he lied

"Oh kure?" Jandi said, a teardrop escaping her eye as the dageer of betrayal pierced her heart. Not you too sunbae "We are having tteokbakki, why dont you come over" she challenged, wanting to see how far Jihoo would go

Jihoo froze--He wasnt someone who could lie well."Umm..mianhe...Jandiya..I have had dinner already" he blurted out the first thing that came to his mind

"It's 7 o' clock" Jandi said coldly "You finished your dinner by 7?"

"Umm...de" Jihoo said nervously

"Ok no problem. We are anyways waiting for oppas...doesnt seem like we are having dinner before ten. I think you'll become hungry by then...so come over" Jandi was not willing to give up

Jihoo was in a difficult place. He knew Jandi was unaware of the Australia project starting off without her and knowing otherwise will totally crush her heart. He didnt wanna be the one breaking the harsh truth to her.

"Umm...Jandi..actually I went out for some drinks with my friends..I am pretty wasted right now--"

"Sunbae please stop" Jandi cut him off

"Huh?"

"How much more are you guys gonna lie?"

Fear and guilt gripped Jihoo's heart. "What are you saying?"

"I know you're in Australia working on the new drama."

Jihoo closed his eyes, his worst fears have come true

"Jandiya.."

"Chukhae sunbae. Fighting" Jandi said and hung up

*END OF FLASHBACK*

"I dont want any further discussion on this. PLEASE" Jandi said firmly. "Please arrange for a car. I will pay the rent once I reach Busan"

"Jandi..dont say that" Hyunjoong rose up and went forward to convince her. But she backed away, not daring to look him in the eye. "Fine" he shrugged "But I cant allow you to leave without a checkup" Jandi looked up to protest but Hyunjoong raised his hand forbidding her "I am not ready to compromise on this" he said firmly

"Fine. Then I'll leave right after the checkup is done" Jandi announced and before anyone could say anything she went back to Somin's room

"Did something happen?" Hyunjoong asked, turning around. "Why did she suddenly decide this?"

"I have no idea" Somin said timidly

"Well something must have happened for her to behave thi way Somin!" Hyunjoong yelled "Did anyone of you said anything to her?"

"I think...it's probably because of the Australian project.."Somin said

"Huh?"

"The Australian project DongSun sunbae had offered her. He had to drop her due to the attack since they were running behind schedule"

Hyunjoong listened and assessed the situation. It was perhaps the probable reason but he couldnt blame anyone. Jandi's disappointment was very logical since the job fair probably had closed down and this was her only chance. Dongsun also was right in his stand--the project was a crucial one for him and him not waiting or Jandi's recovery was quite expected. It was a dilemna. Hyunjoong glancedat Somin. His anger now at bay, he could now see the shimmering tears glisten in Somin's eyes as she vehemently tried to control them. He felt apologetic and took a step towards her when she suddenly got up

"I'll pack some food for Jandi" she said and excused herself

Hyunjoong knew why she left abruptly but there was a bigger situation at hand right now which needed to be dealt with immediately

"Kyu could you ask SeJung to come and check on her?" Hyunjoong requested. Kyu nodded and took out his phone

SeJung has just sat down with a coffee after a critical bypass surgery. She decided to call Kyu but just then her phone vibrated--it was Kyu

"Anneoyong" she answered happily

"De anneoyong" Kyu responded.

"What's wrong?" she asked immediately. Kyu's tone echoed seriousness and she realized it wasnt going to be one of their brief romantic calls. It startled them both at times, how they both understood each other so well inspite of being together for hardly a few weeks.

"It's Jandi. She suddenly decided to leave for Busan and is being very stubborn about it." Kyu sighed

"I knew this was coming" SeJung  pressed her temples

"Huh? You knew?"

"Have you seen how she was being treated?"

"With utmost care!" Kyu defended Somin aggresively

"Exactly!"

Her answer baffled Kyu.

"Kyu, when was the last time Jandi walked without anyone holding her?" she asked and it was then that the realization hit him. "Everyone likes to be taken care of ,Kyu. But none likes to be treated as a patient."

"I get it now" Kyu admired SeJung for this. She wasnt someone who spoke much but she couldexplain complex situations most people fail to despite various elaborate attempts with  just a handful of sentences. "But will she be okay?"

"ofcourse! It's been five days, she is every bit as normal as you and me by now"

"Hmm..still could you come check on her before she leaves?" Kyu asked "Hyung really insists on it"

"Sure I have a three hour break now. I'll drop by" she assured. Kyu thanked her and hung up. As soon as she kept her phone away she felt a chill at her nape. She shivered and turned to find a tall man dressed in scrubs smiling gleefully.

"JinHyuk oppa!" she shrieked as her reporting surgeon Choi JinHyuk handed her the cold ice cream and sat down pulling a chair

"What's my favorite intern doing?"

"Nothing...I have to check up on a patient" SeJung pouted

"In the hospital or private visit?" he asked

"Private" SeJung said hesitantly

"You went to one a few days back as well right?" he asked raising an eyebrow

"Yah! are you stalking me now?" SeJung pouted

"Ofcourse I am your supervisor!" Jinhyuk smiled "Who is it? Namjachingu?"

"Friend of Namjachingu" SeJung blushed

"Anything interesting?" he asked, curious

"She is an epileptic patient" SeJung said.Jinhyuk sat up straight at the mention of the disease. A disease he had a long relation with, a disease that motivated him to take up medicine in the first place.

"How bad is it?"

"As per my diagnosis. It's very mild. But her seizures, though brief, are very intense" SeJung said "In the brief fifteen minutes of the seizure, she managed to showcase all the symptoms--rolling of tongue,gritting of teeth..." SeJung explained as Jinhyuk listened carefully "It's almost similar to the dongsaeng's case you mentioned from your neighbourhood." JinHyuk nodded his head thoughtfully as he remembered the loving dongsaeng SeJung mentioned. To cure her, was one of the aims with which he enrolled for medicine. Even today, when Choi Jinhyuk had become one of the most prominent neurosurgeons of Korea that aim is still unfulfilled and is one of his primary driving forces.

"Infact I was hoping you could check on her..."SeJung suggested

JinHyuk agreed readily and decided to tag along with her.

"So how are things with Kyu?" JinHyuk asked. They had got out of their scrubs and into their normal clothing and were now driving to Somin's place.

"Hectic" SeJung said pressing her into the headrest

"Is it? "

"De...our schedules are so packed up we hardly get time for one another. When my duty ends he is busy in his practise or taking one of his short naps..when his practise ends I am on duty...it's haywire" SeJung sighed

"But you guys are still going strong from where I see things" JinHyuk beamed.

SeJung blushed "Yea we are...You know sunbae...many a times it has so happened that when I called him he is taking one of his short naps...he can hardly talk but still he picks up the call just to listen to me"

"How cute!" Jinhyuk imitated shivering "Well we cant complain, this is the profession we have chosen and worked hard for. It's tough but it's our choice isnt it?"

"That's right! "

"Ah this is the alley right?" JinHyuk asked as he turned the car to enter the alley Somin's house is located at.

"De" SeJung looked around the house and spotted Somin's house, 5 houses from where they were loittering "It's that one" she pointed

JinHyuk shifted the gear and hit on the accelerator to go forward at a faster pace, but just as the car moved forward a white Augusta f4 whirled past them at top speed. JinHyuk was too shocked and it led his car to jolt forward and halt abruptly.

"What the--!" JinHyuk popped out his head from the window "Watch it dude!" he yelled but the biker didnt flinch

"Is everything okay?" SeJung inquired worriedly

"Dunno what's the rush with that jerk!"

"Never mind...there was no damage right?"

"I dont think so" JinHyuk carefully restarted his car and drove it to the house SeJung had pointed earlier. As he aligned his car to park in the driveway, he noticed the same white Augusta F4 that brazenly passed them a few moments ago parked infront of them

"Anneoyong haseyo Master Yoon. Welcome back to Korea"

Jihoo nodded and handed his lugguage to Chen their family butler. Chen walked forward into the parking lot with Jihoo following behind. Chen stopped infront of a white SUV and pressed a button to open the trunk behind

"Chen where's--"

"Ah here... master" he took out another key from his pocket and pressed a button on it. The white Augustus F4 blinked from the end of the parking lot making a 'tic tic' chirpy sound

"Chukhae sunbae. Fighting"

Jandi's teary cheer still rung in Jihoo's ears as he rushed past the busy streets of Seoul. Since the day Jandi had called him, he couldnt help but feel regretful and at fault for hurting her. He hadnt been able to concentrate in his work--everytime he had to take a critical decision,or felt ambivalent regarding something he wished how Jandi should have been there with him making things probably abit easier.

After alot of inner struggle he finally decided that he needed to confront Jandi and apologize to her personally else the guilt will eat him up. That's why he was back in Korea, he convinced himself that it was because he wanted to lift this burden off his chest but as he drove across at top speed he couldnt contain the excitement he felt at the prospect of meeting Jandi again. The excitement was so strong that he didnt realize that he actually had to confront her and it wasnt going to be a jolly meeting. In his heart, knowing it wasnt probably the right thing to do and majority will not agree, he even strategised to convince DongSun to let Jandi in on the project. Jihoo was meeting Jandi, a person he missed in these 2 weeks more than he liked to admit. His excitement obscured his vision of the road ahead of him as he turned to enter into the alley where Somin's house was so much so that he didnt notice the sedan infront of him and briskly passed by it. The only thing in his mind now was how soon he could reach the house at the end of road and meet Jandi
