“Why did you do that?” Somin asked Hyunjoong. They were in the kitchen plating up the the chocolate cake. After the spoon-throwing incident, she had been waiting to speak to Hyunjoong—she needed to clear out things.

“Do what?” Hyunjoong said nonchalantly. Somin looked at him in disbelief—it was as if the spoon throwing was not an event at all.

“Hitting Jungmin like that!” she cried in frustration “You said that everything is sorted, then why did you get heated up like that when he tried to kiss my hand?”

“Hold on” Hyunjoong straightened himself and gave out a nervous chuckle “We hit each other all the time. It has nothing to do with you. I didn’t hit him because of you. We’re brothers we fight,we love,that’s how we roll Somin!”

Somin’s cheeks burned in embarrassment. Finally she thought Hyunjoong’s barrier has cracked,that finally she could confront him with the fact that the present arrangement is not going to work. But she was wrong.

Hyunjoong sighed in relief as he assessed Somin’s expression—she bought his excuse.Hyunjoong had been thinking of how he’s going to explain his actions to her since the incident happened. That’s why he has been avoiding Somin and finally risked the chance to be alone with her only when he had found a convincing excuse

“Oh..”Somin whispered looking down in embarrassment

“Chill…this is how boys function. Don’t worry” Hyunjoong patted her shoulder and took the dessert plates out.

Somin felt weak in her legs and held the edge of the kitchen counter to balance herself. This wasn’t working at all for her.

“Ottokaji” she sighed and closed her eyes

KNOCK! KNOCK!

Somin’s eyes flew open hearing the knock and she turned around. Hwangbo smiled at her from the kitchen door

“May I come in?”

“Sure” Somin nodded nervously. She watched as Hwangbo slowly paced across her and leaned on the kitchen counter. Truthfully,Somin hasn’t been very ecstatic to see Hwangbo. Infact her composure has started to slip since Hwangbo’s advent and why wouldn’t it? She was Hyunjoong’s past. Yes, ‘We Got Married’ was all imaginary but Somin had seen them,the way they looked at each other,there must have been something. Even if there was,Somin thought Hyunjoong had probably got over it since they were never seen together again. But now seeing her here,like this with all the SSboys,specially…it’s as if she never left.

“Don’t be intimidated by me” Hwangbo said

Somin squeeled in shock and looked up at Hwangbo.

“Eh?” Somin managed to say

“You love Hyunjoong and you must be scared to see me here with them” Hwangbo said coolly

Somin’s eyes grew big in surprise. “Ani ani ani” she shook her head desperately when she managed to recover from Hwangbo’s straight forwardness

Hwangbo giggled and moved closer to Somin. “Somin-ah I know everything. Youngsaeng told me.”

Somin got even more nervous

“And don’t be scared of me. I am not your rival” Hwangbo narrowed her eyes mischievously. Somin finally relaxed and the two girls giggled

Hyunjoong returned to take the remaining cake when he found the two ladies laughing.

“I hope you two are not laughing at me behind my back” he inquired flaunting his mischievous smile. Somin’s smile immediately vanished when she saw Hyunjoong as it reminded her of their complicated present situation. Hyunjoong caught it and he felt sad as his smile faded alittle as well

“Maybe…maybe not” Hwangbo giggled “Now go don’t eavesdrop!” The change in their expression was noticed by Hwangbo as well but f

“Yeah I will. I just came to get the cake.” Hyunjoong said and took the remaining cake and left.

The change in their expressions didn’t go unnoticed by Hwangbo. She understood their condition and really wanted to help but she let it go for the time being.
