The moment Sehun stopped playing the guitar, my heart felt like it was going to jump out of its chest.

Please don't see me.... Please don't see me....

Just then, he looked up and he caught my eye. I felt frightened. I felt like I laid out my bare soul, for him to see. Before he could react, I dashed away from the window and raced to the lifts. I pressed the lift button and waited anxiously for the lift doors to open. 

"Lee Ji-eun!" Sehun ran out of his door and raced to the lifts. I ran inside the lift and slammed the close doors button. I was praying that he wouldn't catch up to me. The lift doors closed and I leaned against the wall of the lift, heaving a sigh of relief. I didn't even know why I felt relieved but somehow, there was a hollow emptiness inside me, something that I couldn't quite figure out.

Sehun stood outside the lift doors, staring at the shiny metal doors. He didn't know why he raced after her. When he saw her run away, all he felt was a strong instinct to chase after her, and not let her get away. He felt frustration building up inside him and he just quietly turned and walked back to his apartment. He didn't want to think about her anymore.

I ran out of the apartment block and ended up walking around the streets of Seoul. The city was so bright and alive, but I felt so hollow and bare. I texted Luhan and told him that I couldn't meet him tonight. Then, I switched off my phone and wandered around aimlessly. I passed by a newsstand and I looked at the newspapers. I saw my father's face in the headlines, he was shaking a foreign governor's hand and both of them were holding a 10 million dollar cheque while smiling for the cameras. 

It was ironic that I saw my father's face in the news more than I saw it in real life. I scoffed and kicked a trash can, as if to vent out my feelings. I felt so angry and miserable, I wanted to cry. Somehow, I ended up walking to a park. It was already 1am, and the park was really empty and quiet. I walked to a playground and stopped suddenly.

I saw a familiar figure sitting on the swings. He was alone, and he was staring at the night sky. My heart beat faster. I wanted to run away but my feet somehow ended up walking towards him. I silently sat down next to him on the swings. He looked up and saw me. His entire face was cold and emotionless. I felt an icy feeling creep into my heart.

Both of us just sat there silently, staring at the night sky. Slowly, all the miserable and frustrated feelings that were building up inside me just vanished, like it was never there in the first place. I glanced at Sehun. He was still gazing at the stars, the moonlight seemed to reflect off his beautifully sculptured nose and jawline. He was so handsome, it was unreal.

"My mother abandoned me when I was seven."

I looked up and glanced at Sehun again. He was still fixated on the sky, and his expression was blank. He looked like he was telling a story, something that was completely unrelated to him. I kept quiet and he continued on.

"She left me alone with my dad. My dad started drinking and he became an alcoholic. He beat me and abused me all the time. I had to cover up the scars by wearing long sweaters. He always made sure to hit me in the places where the sweater could cover. It made me wonder that maybe he wasn't drunk when he hit me, maybe he was just sober, but he couldn't stand the sight of me, because I reminded him so much of my mum."

I remained quiet, I knew I was helping him by remaining silent. 

"I decided to track down my mum when I was fourteen. I found her with some other man. I told her I was her son but she just looked at me and told me she never had a son. Somehow, my dad found out that I was searching for my mum and he threw an insane fit. He beat me up so badly, and he left me bleeding on the sidewalk.

When I was sixteen, my dad remarried this woman. She hated me and she told my dad to kick me out of the house. My dad bought me an apartment and told me a year ago to never come home. He gives me a lot of money every month, and in exchange, I must never show up in front of his face again. He told me he hated me, and that I was a 's son. 

I always wondered why did I even exist in the first place. I should have faded into the darkness, maybe that way, there wouldn't be so much pain."

I reached out and held his hand. I didn't say a word but he didn't mind. Somehow, that meant more to him than words could ever mean. All his life, he was hungry for comfort, but it never came. And somehow, this girl's touch had brought him the comfort he wanted the most.  

We remained that way, sitting on the swings and holding hands, while the moon glowed in the distance.

As if we were two lost souls abandoned by the world, forgotten by the rest, and yet, somehow manage to find each other again.

I actually cried a little bit while writing Sehun's past. Sad songs were on repeat on my iTunes playlist so I got really emotional for a second. Haha, I recommend you all to listen to really sad songs while reading this. Anyway, thanks for all the lovely comments and new subscribers, love you all!
