School was over and I stood outside the school gates, waiting eagerly. My dad had promised me that he would take time off work and spend the entire afternoon with me. I was so happy. I haven't spent time with my dad for a month. He was always so busy with work. And my mum..... All she cared about was spending her time and money on expensive jewelry and useless charities. She would attend tons of grand balls and fundraisers, my dad would spend his entire day and night at his office and I would be left at that loveless home... again.

Just then, a shiny black limo pulled up in front of me. The tinted window rolled down and I saw my dad smiling at me. I beamed back and hurriedly got in the limo, not even waiting for the driver to open the door for me. Once I got in the car, my dad hugged me and said "Hello, Ji-eun."  I smiled and said "Hello, appa." The limo drove on and I asked him eagerly. "Appa, where are we going for lunch?"

My dad absentmindedly checked his Blackberry and said "Ji-eun ah, mianhae. I have an emergency conference to attend, my business partners from Hong Kong are coming and I need to greet my stock investors too." 

I felt a bitter disappointment and anger course through me. I smirked and said coldly "Of course, you're too busy to care about me. Whatever." My dad denied it. "No, Ji-eun, don't say that. You know I care about you. Your mum cares about you too. Speaking of which, your new school is really far from the house, therefore, I already bought an apartment for you. It's only a 5 minute walk from your school. I'll send some movers to help you move in there tomorrow morning."

I gasped in shock. "Appa! Why are you kicking me out of the house? I don't want to live alone! I want to live with you and mum." Even if you two always abandon me at home...

Lee Ji-suk looked at this beautiful daughter of his and sighed. "Listen, Ji-eun, of course I want you to stay home with us, but your school is too far away, plus my driver can't possibly drop and pick you up every day, as my schedule is too busy. You will be back home during the weekends, and mum and I will visit you at your apartment as often as we can."

"As often as we can? Hearing you say that, it means never then, doesn't it?"

"Lee Ji-eun, control yourself."

I turned away from him and gazed out of the window, struggling not to cry. He continued on "If it helps, the apartment I got for you is really beautiful. It's located in the city centre and it's really expensive too. You'll definitely love it." 

I kept quiet and after a long time, the limo finally pulled up to my house. The driver opened the door and my dad said "Come now, Ji-eun, appa has to go now. Give me a goodbye kiss." I rolled my eyes, ignored him and slammed the limo door shut as hard as I could. I stomped inside my luxurious house and my personal maid rushed out to greet me. 

I ignored them and ran up to my room. I got my phone and called Luhan. Luhan was my childhood best friend and he was the first person I called whenever I was having problems. That boy understood me more than anyone else combined in the world. He answered at the first ring. "Hello?"

"Luhan ah...." I started crying.

"Ji-eun, don't say another word. I'm coming right over." Luhan's comforting worried voice rang in my ear. He hung up and ten minutes later, I heard a knock on my door. He entered and instantly held his arms out. I entered his arms and he hugged me tightly. I have to admit, I've definitely noticed how much handsomer Luhan had become over the past few years. He became much taller and fitter. A lot of my girl friends were actually jealous of the close friendship I had with him, and they had often tried to persuade me to pass him their love letters.

Luhan was my neighbor. He lived in the huge mansion next to mine. His parents, like mine, were always busy and rarely had any time for him. Which explains how we first met. Both of us met when we were 4 years old, when I accidentally entered his garden and fought for his toy spade. In the end, he gave me his favorite toy spade because he told me I was pretty. We spent four magical years playing together, until I moved to the USA when I was 8. Now that I'm back in Korea, my parents made sure we got back our old house, because they knew how much I loved spending time with Luhan when I was little. 

Luhan gazed at the girl crying in his arms. He had been in love with her since he was a kid. When she moved to the USA, he felt like his heart was going to break apart. He spent years arguing with his parents to let him go to the USA so he could be with her but they thought he was too young to go overseas. When Ji-eun came back, he felt so happy, he couldn't stop smiling for days. 

"Ji-eun, what's wrong?" He asked softly.

I took a deep breath and spilled everything out. Once he heard that I was going to move out, Luhan's face darkened. She's not leaving me again. 

"Just wondering, where are you going to live in?" He asked casually. I told him the address.

After a few hours, Luhan left my house and I started packing. If my parents were so sick of seeing my face, then fine, I would leave as soon as possible. I had already called the movers and my dad's assistant had passed me the apartment key. I packed everything up and left the family mansion. The car ride was long and ardous. 

Once I reached the apartment block, I was in shock. The apartment I lived in was super classy and modern. I had a brilliant view of the city skyline and my apartment was huge too. I sighed bitterly and started unpacking with the movers. Soon, my apartment was neatly furnished. I had three huge bedrooms, a huge kitchen, living room and a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi and sauna in it. 

It was already night time and I was exhausted from all the unpacking. I decided to walk to the nearest conveinence store to get some instant noodles for dinner. I put on a casual white v-neck and jeans and walked out. The night air was so cool and relaxing, I couldn't help but feel my mood improve. I smiled happily and even skipped around for a while. 

Just when I was about to head inside my apartment lobby, I saw a familiar figure. My heart felt like it stopped.

Oh Sehun was standing three feet away, waiting for the lifts. He was dressed in a black sweater and jeans and he looked so handsome. He was alone. 

I ducked behind a wall, praying he didn't see me. Too late. He looked up and caught my eye. He was surprised for a second, then his signature cold aura came back and he smirked at me. "Lee Ji-eun, I didn't know you lived here." I reddened slightly and said "I just moved. My parents kicked me out of the house." He raised his eyebrows. 

Just then, the lift dinged and the doors opened. Both of us stepped in. I felt really awkward as the atmosphere was dead silent. I peered at him. Sehun didn't seem to be fazed by the silence at all. He was staring blankly at the lift doors. The lift stopped at the 10th floor and both of us got out. We looked at each other in unison. 

I started walking back to my apartment and to my growing panic, he was following behind me. I stopped and growled "Yah, why are you following me?"

He smirked and said "Who wants to follow you? I'm going back to my apartment." I widened my eyes. I stopped in front of my door, it was apartment A308. He stopped at the door next to mine, it was A309. Oh God, no...

Sehun looked at me and smirked again "I guess we're neighbors now." He walked in his apartment and slammed the door shut. I hurriedly entered my apartment too and once I was inside, I let out a scream of frustration. 

I can't believe that jerk's my new neighbor!

In the next apartment, Sehun leaned against the wall and listened to that girl's scream. A smile of pleasure crept upon his face. He looked forward to annoying her in the future.
