Kai and I wandered around Gangnam, looking for a place to eat. Eventually, we found this super cute kimchi restaurant, neatly tucked away in a corner. We hurried in and sat down to eat. We chatted happily about our lives and our interests and soon, I found myself warming up to him. Kai was actually a really nice guy, and I was glad I've found a friend like him. 

"So, Kai, just wondering, what's up with Sehun?" I asked.

"Sehun? Why?" Kai said.

"Why is he such a cold jerk all the time?"

"No one knows. Apparently he's been like this his whole life."

"Does he have any friends?"

"Yeah, he's quite popular, actually. He has a group of friends, they're not in this school though. He's known as the "Ice Prince" among his peers."

"Oh." I nodded and resumed eating. Kai glanced at me curiously, wondering why I would ask him about Sehun. 

After eating, he walked me home and we stood outside my apartment. I suddenly felt a little nervous, it felt like a real date. But somehow, I had this tickling disappointment in the back of my mind, as if I wished Kai was someone else... I shook that feeling out of my head and smiled at him. "Thanks again, Kai. I'll see you tomorrow." Kai smiled and said goodbye. He made sure I was safely in my apartment before he walked off, feeling really light and happy.

My phone rang and I answered it. "Hello?" I stepped inside my luxurious apartment, locked the door and lounged on my huge leather couch. 

"Ji-eun ah, this is Luhan." 

I beamed. "Luhan! How are you?"

"I'm fine. Hey, I have a surprise for you. Can you come meet me out tonight?"

I agreed and hung up. I tried calling my parents but both of them didn't pick up. I know I shouldn't be disappointed, but somehow, I still felt really down. I glanced at the wall separating me and Sehun's apartments, what is he doing right now? Is he living alone like me too? Did he get kicked out like me? I thought back about how cold his personality was, how he never seemed to open up to anybody, how he told me never to be dependent on anybody. There was such pain in his eyes when he said that, I couldn't help but wonder if he was reminiscing about his past.

I smiled bitterly. I knew how it felt to be left alone. Maybe that was what connected us together, both of us have been abandoned by our own family. 

I lay on the couch and remained deep in thought until I looked at the clock and realized I was late. I jumped up and hurried to get ready to meet Luhan. I got dressed and rushed out of my door. I locked it and continued walking. I was just about to head to the lifts when I heard a melody coming from Sehun's apartment. I wanted to walk away but curiousity overtook me and I went over to his door and stood outside the window.

Through the window, I could see Sehun playing the guitar. His eyes were closed and he was strumming the guitar beautifully. His long slender fingers moved over the frats of the guitar smoothly. The sweet melody filled the air and I felt like I was hypnotized. All I could do was stand there and remain staring at him. My heart started beating faster. Sehun was so transfixed in playing the guitar, he didn't notice me standing outside his window.

Just then, he sang. His voice was so beautiful, I felt shivers all over my body. Every inch of me yearned to hear more and I felt myself getting closer and closer to the window. 

"As if I was reborn as a child who doesn't know anything,

Every intention of going out to meet Luhan had vanished, just like the sun sinking down the horizon. All I wanted was to stand there forever and watch him sing. The wind blew through my hair but I remained transfixed. I felt this odd feeling in my chest, like I wanted to cry. Sehun continued strumming the guitar. His usual cold demeanour was gone and there was so much peace in his face, like he finally knew where he belonged.

Slowly, the night arrived and the stars glittered in the sky. I remained standing there, looking at him through the window, filling my heart with so many feelings that it couldn't decipher.

Sehun stopped playing the guitar and looked up. When he saw her, he was shocked at first, but then slowly, happiness began to creep into him.
