You sighed, back sliding down the school’s brick wall as you buried your face in your hands. How stupid and clueless could you be? Was there a limit to the extent of how clueless a human could be? If there was, you definitely surpassed it a long time ago by far.
After your talk with Myungsoo, you were brought to light about something. It may not have been his place to say it, but you were glad he did nonetheless. Again, you sighed as you recalled your earlier conversation. How did he know when you barely realized your own feelings?
“I figured you told him?” A voice asked, snapping you out of your reverie.
“Howon oppa,” Your voice came out breathy as you met eyes with him.
“May I sit?”
You scooted over to make room for him. “U-uh, sure, by all means.”
“I guess this is it, isn’t it?” He asked.
“What do you mean?” You curiously peered sideways at him and noticed he was looking ahead.
“It’s the end of our pretend relationship, silly.” His bright voice didn’t fool you. “Although, it probably doesn’t matter since it wasn’t really official in the first place.”
Even though Myungsoo had told you, maybe Howon’s feelings have changed since then? Had he already moved on? If so, you couldn’t blame him – it has been almost ten years according to Myungsoo. Howon’s bound to have moved on already; tired of waiting all this time.
But… you had to try. Like Howon said, no more cowardice.
“Maybe… maybe we don’t have to.” Your voice was barely above a whisper as you sat completely still next to him.
