You stretched after hopping off of the bus and enjoyed the cool air. Howon got off the bus right after you, carrying both of your suitcases. Although you told him that he didn’t need to carry your suitcase, he insisted on doing so. The Friday before, both Infinite and Eternity spent the entire afternoon afterschool, cleaning it. Surprisingly, everyone worked well together. Perhaps it was because the thought of spending Christmas break at home while the entire school had fun at a ski resort gave everyone more determination to do a good job in cleaning. The principal was pretty satisfied with the work everyone put into cleaning, so she let the eleven of you go on the school field trip.

“Ok everyone!” The principal announced, using a megaphone. “Your teachers will be reading off your roommates. After that, you may go and look at your group members who will be with you for the rest of the week. Today, I will partner you with one other person and the both of you will explore the ski resort. After five pm, everyone must report back at the lodge for dinner. It gets dark pretty quickly, so try to get back as soon as possible.”

She began reading down the lists of partners.

Misun was paired with Eunhee while Hoya was paired up with Miyoung. Woohyun was paired up with Sunggyu. Sungyeol was paired up with Sungjong. Dongwoo was paired up with another student from your class and finally, Myungsoo was paired up with… you.

“Me?! Partnered up with him/her? Are you out of your mind?!” Both Myungsoo and you yelled at the same time.

“Is there a problem?” The principal asked, turning her attention and scary gaze at the two of you.

“Yes!” Myungsoo exclaimed.

“What makes you think that I can last a day with that thing?!” You asked.

“It’s either that or stay in your room the entire day while everyone else explores and have fun in the snow.” She shrugged. “I’m pretty sure I know your choice.”

Myungsoo and you glared at each other. There was no way you’d spend a whole day with him, but, like the principal said, it was either that or stay back at the resort. Oh well, just because you were partners, doesn’t mean that you’d have to actually communicate with him. Staying ten feet away from him at all times would work too.

“Let’s go,” You muttered, heading out first.

Myungsoo was about to follow, but Howon stopped him. “Watch out for her. Don’t let this hate the both of you have for each other blind you from remembering that she used to be your best friend as well. There’s a possibility she may get lost or hurt.”
