Getting Used to Being Taken
Clash of the PlayersYou flinched and almost tore your hand away when Myungsoo held it while the two of you were walking through the hallway. The whole relationship thing was going to take a lot of getting used to. Every time he grabbed your hand out of nowhere, your first instinct was to pull your hand away or push him, but then you’d remind yourself that you were his girlfriend and girlfriends do not do that to their boyfriends.
Faking a relationship was harder than it looked, especially if you have no feelings for the other person whatsoever. Despising him didn’t help the situation either. The students in the hallways stared at the gorgeous couple walking to class. Some were still in complete disbelief, so you two had to make it more believable. Myungsoo whispered sweet things in your ears, which you cringed at – inside your head of course. Sure they were cute, if an actual boyfriend was saying it, but it was Myungsoo here. It was anything but cute. Besides, because you were so used to hearing it at the club, you were almost immune to sweet-talking.
“See you at lunch, jagiya.” He said, giving you a sweet smile.
“Bye oppa,” The endearment was foreign on your tongue, but you forced yourself to say it as if you never stopped calling him it.
It was the first time in five years that you called him that. He almost sported an expression of surprise, hearing himself being called that, but he managed to keep an unsurprised face. For a moment, and just a moment, it felt as if things were back to normal, like they were five years ago, but you reminded yourself that things will never be “normal” again. Nothing could make you forget what happened five years ago that ruined your friendship with him. Nothing.
He flashed you another dazzling smile and left. You let out a sigh and almost jumped when you turned around to come face to face with Howon leaning against the wall, arms crossed.
“You’ve got a lot of explaining to do, ~~~-ah,” He said. “Since I didn’t get any answers from Myungsoo yet, I thought I’d ask you.”
“Can we talk about this during lunch?” You asked. “I don’t think right now is an appropriate time.”
“I understand. But you owe me an explanation.” Howon said.
“Of course! You’re my best friend and you deserve to know. Just not now – at this moment.”
