She was curled up under her sheets with just some random music playing in the background as her thoughts got washed away by what happened a few hours ago. Pieces of her memories came back to her when she got a glimpse of Jaejin’s brain. She wondered how much she affected his line of thinking judging by the memories that showed up to her. What bothered her most was the memory of her saying “I love you” to him. Her heart was pounding, her cheeks were flushed as she said those words to him. She couldn’t remember it but everything felt clear to her. She was in a state where her head was filled by Jaejin.

“Seol are you okay?” There was a constant soft knocking on her bedroom door and only realized it when she heard Seunghyun’s voice. She thought for a few seconds if she could face him when she was feeling that way, afraid that she would hurt someone precious to her.

She finally dragged herself out of her bed, knowing that he would just be more worried if she wouldn’t answer him. She opened the door for him and dropped herself back on her bed and Seunghyun watched her did so. He closed the door and slowly climbed on the bed beside her and hugged her from behind.

When she felt him giving her comfort, her worries were somehow washed away. She faced the younger demon and she was greeted by his sweet gentle smile that directly shot her heart, she couldn’t help but smile too. She stared at his face in silence and just enjoyed looking at his gorgeous figure she could never get enough.

“Why are you staring at me like that?” Seunghyun but feeling shy as well.

Seol just shook her head and played with his bangs instead. “I just want to look at you this close that’s all.” She told him but in fact there was something telling her that her time with him was being counted already. She was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to see him this close again.

Seunghyun let out a grin upon hearing Seol’s sweet words. He then took the opportunity and held Seol’s hand that was playing with his bangs and leaned in closer just so their lips could meet. Seol was taken aback by his actions but she let him be, in fact she even responded to the kiss. Letting her confused emotions go around, she knew this wasn’t right but wasn’t wrong either. When he felt Seol responding to his kiss, he rolled on top of her, his hands still holding her as he turned the sweet peck to a more intimate one. When she parted her lips, he took the chance to let his tongue slide in and explored . She couldn’t help but surrender to his steamy kisses and respond in return.

Their lips and tongues stayed together for a really long time, rolling around the bed in the process and breaking in from time to time to catch their breaths for a few seconds before capturing each other’s lips again.

Both knew, both felt, how unsure their story was going to end.

“Father dear, care to explain?” Jonghun’s voice was mocking as his eyebrows furrowed while staring at the king. He was accompanied by Hongki and Wonbin who also got their hands full a few moments ago, knocking the king’s guards to unconsciousness.

“You do know that even with you three combined, you are no match for me.” The king retorted back, sitting so relaxed on his chair. Hongki and Wonbin immediately went next to Jonghun when they heard the King’s warning.

“I don’t know, shall we give it a try?” Jonghun challenged and the king just chuckled upon the guts being showed by his boy. He was his son all right. “After all, you’re nothing but an old ert.”

 He then threw a thunder at him, casted a space spell on the right, trying to entrap the King. But the king was able to nudge the thunder and broke the space, Hongki came to the rescue and threw a fire ball at the king. Wonbin was trying to capture the king’s movements so he could manipulate him. But the king, like he said, managed to counter all spells being thrown at him as he ran around the room, nudging their attacks.

This went on for a few minutes, the three young demons attacking and all the king did was nudge or counter their spells but not firing a single attack on them. The prince finally noticed this after a number of attempt of hitting the king and he stopped firing at once when he realized it. The two noticed the halt form the prince and they both stopped as well and looked back at the prince, afraid that he was injured.

“Jonghun are you all right?” Hongki cried to his best friend who just nodded to his question, the prince’s eyes were locked on the king.

“Why aren’t you attacking?” Jonghun asked and that was only when Hongki and Wonbin realized this and they looked at the king as well.

“I don’t want to hurt my son and his friends.” The king answered simply and they all stared at him unbelievingly. The king laughed out loud at their precious expressions as he sat back on his chair and flicked his fingers for his pipe. The younger demons then watched the king puffed smokes in the air, completely confused of the situation.

“What in the hell is going on?” Jonghun asked rather impatiently this time.

“Patience my son. Youngsters these days….too hasty..too hot blooded.”

“I have no time for lectures, DAD.”

The king puffed again, and he watched the smoke disappear before looking back at the impatient demons. “I’m not the enemy.” He said as a matter-of-factly.

“But you’re the one who is responsible for Seol’s memories.” Wonbin argued.

“Ahh..that,” The king puffed again. “I did that for her safety.”

“Safety? Do you know how much they are all suffering right now because Seol lost her memories? If you don’t give me a good explanation I will burn this castle down.” Jonghun threatened and the king saw how angry his son was right now.

It was one of those rare moments to see his son so fired up and angry. He wasn’t the type to lose his cool easily except when his friends are involved, he became too protective. “Still not over that crush of yours?” He teased his son.

“Cut the crap dad. Just get it on already.”

The king let out a sigh. “Before anything else,” The king then waved his hand and the door shot wide opened. Someone was listening to their conversation and this wasn’t left unnoticed by the king. Wonbin then instinctively, controlled the movements of the eavesdropper and she was frozen in her place. “Lilith, I did tell you that you fail badly at hiding your presence right?” The king’s voice was dark and low as he address his wife. “Wonbin, don’t let go of her hold for me will you? We don’t want this information to get to the enemies.” They were all surprised by what the king said as Wonbin let Lilith at least sit on the couch next to the king.

“How did you know? My plan was perfect!” Lilith scowled at the king but the king just snickered.

“You may be beautiful but you lack the brains, unfortunately.” The king said to her and the young demons grew more puzzled with each moment. “Lilith is a spy from the enemies. I took her as a wife because of that, asides from getting you on my bed of course.” He looked at his wife mockingly and Lilith hissed in return. “It was because of her that I took Seol’s memories away,” He began explaining. “I got alarmed. The council’s lead is going in circles and you are not going anywhere close as well in your investigation. I was afraid that they might get Seol first so I took her memories away.”

“But why not tell us when we got her back? We could’ve prevented a lot of things from happening!” Jonghun exploded, his thoughts running a hundred miles per second as he thought of Seunghyun and Jaejin’s predicament as of the moment.

“Too risky. You still have no lead and so is the council. If ever they get her, she won’t be of any use without her knowledge as a keeper.”

“And here you go again, acting on your own. We have a lead already, better than that council filled with rotting demons.”

“Really now?”

“Really, dad. Better give Seol her memory back before everything gets worse than already it is.”

“Tell me what you have first and then we can go look at Lilith’s memories before I give back Seol’s memories.”

“No dad, you’ll give her memories back, understand?”

“So stubborn.”

“But of course, same blood flowing in our veins.” Jonghun smirked and the king as well, a splitting image of father and son.

“What took you two so long?” Sophia asked Seunghyun and Seol who were both late for dinner. None of them answered and just took their seats quietly next to each other and all of them watched the two.

“Suspicious.” Adriel spat at them and Seol and Seunghyun both avoided each other’s gazes and a tint of red formed in their cheeks. “Really really suspicious.” Adriel emphasized further as she noticed the twos behavior.

Seol and Jaejin’s eyes met and her face immediately fell when she saw Jaejin’s pained expression. She looked away, how much those hurting eyes were affecting her.

“Let’s just eat okay.” Seol dismissed their suspicions with a cold reply and they ate dinner in silence.

It wasn’t long before the Prince, Hongki and Wonbin got back to the human world. The demon king told them what information they had so far and they gave him in return of what they had. Everything made sense to them now but they were not telling everything yet to the other demons.

When they arrived, Seol, Seunghyun, Sophia, Jaejin, Minhwan, Adriel and Jezebel were all having their quiet dinner. The same atmosphere everyone usually had except for Jaejin and Seol who had been in a bad situation because of Seol’s missing memories.

 But tonight, everything would be changing.

“Fatty!” Sophia instantly shouted when she saw her beloved Hongki coming towards them.

The others were surprised for seeing an old familiar face and they all instantly crowded around him, giving him pats of welcoming and affections of happiness for seeing him again after a few years of separation.

“Wonbin-hyung!” Minhwan hugged his hyung who hugged him back happily.

“It’s been a while.” Jaejin said to him.

“Yeah.. How’s everyone?” Wonbin asked to all of them who had different reactions to his question. Upon noticing this, he decided to get into business already. “Anyway, let’s save the catching up later. After all, it’s more fun when everyone remembers right?” He turned to Seol who was at her seat, looking at everyone crowd around Wonbin and suddenly getting confused by what he meant.

And without further adieu, “Seol, we have your memories back.” Jonghun finally said.

As if it was a ticking time bomb, what the Prince said made something explode in the room. Something, inside of the hearts of the demons in the room was triggered. Seol looked at Jonghun dumfounded, Jaejin’s heart was filled with hope, while Seunghyun was caught in an endless pit of helplessness.
