The next day Seol was starting to learn the basics of the demon powers with the help of Adriel, Bast and Diriel. Jaejin also gave her a book to study and he would check on the things she learned tonight. In the middle of practicing hiding her demon presence, her human friends crossed her mind.

She stopped from what she was doing, grabbed her pen and started writing instead. When she was done, she decided to put her practicing in a test. She sneaked out of the house and went to Yuki’s. She left her a letter and quickly left after that making sure that her absence wouldn’t be notice. When she got back, she hurriedly went for the stairs to go back to her room.

“Were you able to give her the letter, my lady?” Bast then suddenly called out for her and she instantly froze. She turned around slowly to face her and rubbed the back of her head.

“How did you know I went there?”

“You may have successfully hid your presence my lady but did you forget about the surveillance crystal ball Lord Jaejin told you?”

“Ohh.. that.. right..”

“Yes my lady.”

“Since I’m done with hiding my presence, how about you teach me how to use some spells then? Spells that can help me defend myself.”

“NO SKIPPING LESSONS SEOL.” Adriel suddenly came in. “The next thing on the list is flying.”

“Sounds fun. But I have to learn how to defend myself fast.”

“Flying first. It’ll help you with running away from the enemies.”

“But I don’t want to run! I want to fight!”

“Say that when you learned the basics already. Stop rushing. We don’t want this to end up badly, don’t we?”

“Fine.”

She obediently took her flying lessons, from making her wings appear and from hiding it. Then the actual flying lessons took place in the house, making the space limited and harder for her to control her speed. She almost crashed to the wall but Diriel was attentive enough to stop her from getting herself hurt.

“Try to make the movements of the wings slower, my lady.” Diriel reminded her and she did as she was told and it worked. She can now control her flight and she started flying around the house as soon as she got the hang of it.

The whole day she spent her time learning the basic abilities of demons but it didn’t take long for her to master them since her body seemed to remember. She started reading the book Jaejin then gave her and tried doing spells.

Meanwhile, the demons were busy with their final schedule for Japan. Jonghun was still preoccupied with his thoughts. He submitted a report to the council regarding the matter of recovering the keeper. He also demanded a full report on what happened to the 6 months assurance of safety of the keeper, what happened to their lead and such. He also demanded for a meeting to be held the next day when they get back to Korea with the gatekeepers. He also still had a pile of lists of demons to check. There were so many things to think about, Jonghun was having a hard time keeping up.

“Here.” Hongki handed him a lollipop while they were at the waiting room. “Take some sweets, it’ll give you energy, or so they say for humans.” Hongki said, still giving him the sweet and he took it. “You don’t have to do everything on your own you know. We can all divide the work. After all, we are a band, a team.” Hongki sat beside him as he put back his own lollipop in his mouth.

“Funny how you say the most sensible things sometimes though most of the time you’re nothing but brite strength.” Jonghun mocked him but this was his way of saying thank you to his best friend.

“Shut up. It just so happened I was born in a family known for intense power and not so much on the intellectual side. Lucky you, you’re the demon prince.”

“Great abilities come with great responsibilities. After all I have no plans on taking over the throne. That old ert can rule until his last breath if he wants to. But unconsciously I’m taking a lot of responsibilities. “

“In other words you just can’t let anything happen to the underworld and to Seol.” Hongki said as a matter of fact.

“Can’t be helped, taking care of the underworld runs in my veins and Seol happens to be a very dear friend who also happens to be the source of happiness of another dear friend. Damn it! Why does all of this need to happen to us?” He sighed heavily and Hongki just patted his back.

“Let’s talk about all your worries about the underworld and Seol all together later, Okay? As of now we have to finish our schedule.”

“Thanks.” Jonghun stood up and followed Hongki to where the younger demons were and started preparing for their final schedule.

When they were done, they all went to Seol’s house, checking how she was doing with restudying. She was in the middle of producing lightning but it was a fail. All of them watched her from afar, amused by the fact that she was having a hard time. She raised her finger once again and tried zapping out thunder, only left to be grounded by her own spell.

“Ouch! That hurts!” She whined and Jaejin immediately went to her and checked her hand.

“Here, let me help you make it feel better.” He then lifted her hand and brought it to his lips and kissed it. His actions made her blushed instantly.

“Looks like the lovebirds are back.” Hongki said all of a sudden and this startled Seol. He then hit Jaejin’s head lightly to let go of her and she moved away while Jaejin rubbed the part of his head where she hit him.

“I see you are both doing well.” The prince came to her side. He then released lightning with his point finger as Seol watched in amazement. “You just have to control the flow of energy. Lightning is very unstable so don’t be too frustrated or it’ll back fire like what happened earlier. It’s like releasing your anger without trying too hard. Now try it.” She then raised her arm and pointed. “No, no, no your muscles are too tensed.” He went to her back and held her arm and touched her softly it a little to relax her.

“Jonghun, I don’t care if you’re the demon prince but might as well be reminded that the one you’re touching is mine.” Jaejin snarled and Jonghun instantly removed his hands off of her.

“Sorry, got carried away, too engrossed with teaching.” He apologized.

“Is he really like that?” Seol asked to Jonghun, referring to Jaejin’s manner.

“Pretty much. I’m afraid their clan is very possessive.” He chuckled and the others did as well. “Now why don’t you try it then?” She then continued what she was doing. She took a deep breath and kept in mind what Jonghun instructed her. With that, she successfully created lightning. She looked at Jonghun and grinned at him. “Now you can zap Jaejin like before. Come along, save practice for later. We must eat. We have a very important matter to discuss during dinner.”

Seol looked at Jaejin but he just shook his head and they all followed the prince to eat. They waited meal to be served and for the prince to start discussing the matter he was talking about.

“Since we’re all present, I would like to ask all of you for your cooperation.” The prince started and all of them gave their full attention to him. “As you can see, I’m in the middle of investigating how that demon managed to sneak in here in the human world, not to mention I’m waiting for the report on the Council’s lead and we also have to keep Seol safe and train her.” He sighed and Seunghyun was the first one to let out a giggle. Jonghun eyed him and he stopped instantly. “What’s so funny?”

”Because you look like someone who has the world on his shoulders.”

“I think that is partially true.”

“Oh right. But anyway, point is, you don’t have to do everything by yourself hyung. All of us have been together for so long already and yet you still get shy when asking us favors. Come on, we’re friends and we’re all in this together.”

“Hate to say this but, Seunghyun is right.” Hongki butted in and they all let out a chuckle with what he said. “I told you a while ago, we are a team. So stop beating around the bush and tell us what we should do. You are our leader after all.” They all nodded to what Hongki said and Jonghun let out a wide smile, feeling rather relieved to have them with him.

“Okay so here’s what you can do, Seunghyun and Minhwan, can you go investigate the guest list during the old ert’s ceremony? We can get a lead there since he said that he only invited those who know about our stay in the human world.”

“Yes my lord.” The maknaes replied.

“Adriel, you must stay in the human world and protect Seol until she gets at least her knowledge back.”

“Very well my prince.” She replied.

“Hongki, I need you to come with me tomorrow when we hold a meeting with the gatekeepers. Jaejin you focus on teaching Seol and try to find a way to retrieve her memory.” They both nodded at what he said and then Jonghun turned to Seol. “As for you, just stay indoors and study. It’ll definitely be a big help if your memories are back.”

“Okay.” She responded a bit disappointed and sad but she understood the situation perfectly fine but she still couldn’t stand being vulnerable.

“Are you ready to leave for tomorrow?” Minhwan asked Adriel and Seol saw her nodding in enthusiasm that she would be near her lover while she couldn’t help but feel sad by the fact that she was going to leave people behind.

“Are you not feeling well?” Jaejin asked her, noticing the fact that Seol was barely eating a thing.

She just shook her head and reluctantly started eating again. “I’m fine.” She gave a weak smile and he just let her be.

After dinner they all went to their own business and Jaejin searched for Seol since he had to check if she read the book he gave her. He searched for her everywhere; outside, bathrooms but there was no sign of her. He then took out the surveillance crystal ball and found her on the roof, staring at the night sky, obviously thinking of something deep.

He then went to her and approached her quietly. She felt someone was with her. Her demon instincts were awakened ever since she started learning today but she waited for him to sit beside her instead.

“The human world’s night sky is pretty much the same of the underworld’s sky. It’s so nice and pretty.” Jaejin said as he took his sit beside her while looking at the sky.

“You know, I always like looking at the night sky. Every time I feel lonely I just stare at it and it helps me feel better. Who would’ve thought I was actually missing my real world.” She said, still looking at the sky.

“Are you feeling lonely right now?” He asked her but she shook her head instantly.

“I’m not anymore since you’re here.” Jaejin then smiled at what she said and let her continue. “It’s just that, it’s so frustrating when everyone around you can remember and I have no idea what’s going on. It’s so frustrating. I hate being not able to do anything.”

“Thought so. You’re the last person who would want to be useless. Don’t worry; we’ll all help you in this.” She just smiled gently at him and continued looking at the sky and that was when he felt this scene familiar. The difference would be that they were on top of a tree in the underworld. The thought made him smirked and decided to do what he did before.

“But I’ve seen something prettier than this view.” He smiled sweetly at her and she turned to him excited to hear about it.

“Really? There’s such a thing? Show me!” She beamed at him like how she did before and Jaejin’s smile wouldn’t go away.

“Do you really want to see it?” He asked her again the same question and like a replay, she nodded instantly.  “Close your eyes then.”

“But how am I going to see it if my eyes are closed?”

“Just trust me.” He skipped the other parts since he was contented that her replies were the same from before. She then closed her eyes and Jaejin gave her a kiss on the lips. Her eyes shot wide open, she instantly blushed and hit Jaejin on the arm for surprising her.

“How can you steal a kiss from me!” She whined, her face was still red and he just chuckled at her embarrassed expression.

“Can I ask for it then?”

“What?”

He couldn’t help but smirk just from the idea he thought of. He then stood up and was about to start his brilliant plan. “Let’s go inside and see if you’ve read the book I gave you. For each wrong answer you have to give me a kiss.”
