There was an explosion of total peace and serenity that overwhelmed them both. His lips were hard at first. Then soft. Donghae tightly wrapped his arms around Eunhyuk’s neck. Donghae moved his lips and Eunhyuk moved with him. It was the dance of a lifetime. The heat was intense and they burned together. Donghae moved his hands and entwined his fingers in Eunhyuk’s his hair. Eunhyuk delicately traced Donghae’s back, then, completely giving in, he captured Donghae’s waist and embraced him whole.

            Donghae tasted Eunhyuk’s lips. Loud booming noises sounded in the background. Light flickered on and off on the other side of Donghae’s eyelids.

            Eunhyuk stopped and pulled away. Donghae realized he had been crying. Tears streamed down his face. Eunhyuk held his face in his warm hands. “Why are you crying?”

            Donghae gasped for breath. I don’t want to hear you reject me.

            Eunhyuk was on the edge sanity when he felt something wet in between his and Donghae’s cheeks. He didn’t want to pull away. The feeling was pure ecstasy. He held him close. Donghae.             “Why are you crying?” Eunhyuk wiped away a tear that rolled down Donghae’s face. Donghae averted his eyes. Donghae mumbled something though Eunhyuk couldn’t hear over the blaring of the fireworks. He barely heard himself ask the question. He turned Donghae to face at him. He shook his head showing he couldn’t hear.

            Donghae closed his eyes and more tears rolled down his cheeks. Eunhyuk died. No. Don’t cry. I love you. I love you. He closed his eyes and kissed him on the forehead. He glanced down at Donghae who gazed at him. Eunhyuk brushed his lips against his. The heat was once again intense and chocked Eunhyuk. Not allowing himself to loose control he pulled back and looked at Donghae.

            “I love you.” he said loudly. Donghae stared at him with wide eyes. Eunhyuk smiled. I love you.

            Donghae beamed and hugged Eunhyuk. Eunhyuk wrapped his arms around Donghae and promised himself he would never let go.

            The loud noises slowly settled down then disappeared entirely. The two boys held each other closely. Eunhyuk felt Donghae shiver.

“Happy new year.” He sighed with complete and total happiness.

            Donghae smiled. “Happy new year.”

            Donghae opened his eyes. He could here birds chirping behind the window’s glass. The morning sun peered through the curtains and lit parts of the bed. Donghae turned his head and gazed at Eunhyuk. He was asleep. He faced Donghae. A sunbeam lit his brown locks of hair and the side of his face. He was a golden prince. Even beauty was envious. His chest rose and fell gently.

            Donghae grinned. Resentfully, his smile disappeared. Was it all just a dream?

            “I love you.” Eunhyuk announced loudly over the sounds of the fireworks.
