They’re walking around campus when they start seeing posters for the homecoming concert. Jonghyun doesn’t recognize the names of any of the artists but Minho does and seems to get excited by it.

“I take it you know them?” he asks.

“Yeah! Amber introduced me to a lot of their music like last summer. I tend to listen to the same things over and over and over again so she feels it’s her personal responsibility to get me to listen to at least one new album every month.”

“That’s sweet of her.”

“Yeah. It’s too bad though, her and her girlfriend are on a trip that week.”

“Are you going to go?”

“Probably. We should go.”

“Who’s we?”

“Us. You and I. I know we’ve only talked about music a few times but I think you’d like them.”

“Oh. Sure. It’s Friday right?”

“Yeah, at 7.”

“Is this a date?”

Minho stops in his tracks and Jonghyun worries he’s crossed a line.

“I hadn’t thought about it. It could be, if you want.”

“Do you want it to be a date?”

“Yeah, if you want it to be.”

“I’m asking if you, singular, want it to be.”

“Yes, I want it to be a date with you but I don’t want you to say just because you feel like you have to say yes to me.”

“It’s a date then. When should I be ready?”

“I get out of work at 6, I’ll treat you to that taco place on 8th avenue if that works? You could meet me there?”

“Works for me.”

They continue walking on, Jonghyun slipping his hand into Minho’s.

“I like the sound of that.” he says, after a minute.

“What, going on a date with me for tacos and a concert?”

“Well, yes, but that’s not what I mean.”

“If not that, then what?” Minho asks, furrowing his brow. 

“You and I. Us.”
