Ethereal Deaths II | BTS *reupload

Yoongi was in the dream again. Hyung sure loves to disrupt my sleep time, a lot. He sat up on the bed, as always, waiting. A while later, the door creaked open and in came the figure with the same tray laden with a few plates of snacks and some tea. He sat them down on the bedside table and straightened up, his eyes piercing. Yoongi stared back and averted his gaze, after a while.

He came and sat on the side of the bed. "Yoongi," he called, his voice firm and unyielding. Yoongi sighed and fixed his gaze back on him. "Seokjin, hyung," he said, pausing a little between the words. Seokjin reached a hand back and grabbed hold of a plate, holding it out to Yoongi after he took one for himself.

Yoongi got hold of one and threw it in his mouth, slowly munching on the flavoured goodness. He had so many things to say but it's all in a huge mess in his head. "I.." he trailed off, unsure of where to start. Seokjin just looked at him and sipped on his tea he had gotten hold of a while ago. His round eyes earnestly looked back at Yoongi's dark browns, patiently waiting for him to begin. Yoongi heaved a long sigh, dragging it out. It was always so, and they ended up being heightened to emotional highs as the talk went on.

Yoongi didn't want all of this today though. He wanted it to be devoid of these emotions, as they were just frustrating and what made him human even if he wasn't one. A vengeful soul after dying at an age of 28, found by Seokjin the grim reaper. He had a chance to get his revenge, but it wasn't what he dreamed it to be. "I.." he started again, steeling himself for the words ahead. "..want to take back my initial decision. I know you have a way," he said, his voice mixed with guilt and pleading.

"What will you offer me?" Seokjin asked, his tea now forgotten. His hands clasped together, looking at Yoongi. Yoongi closed his eyes. Of course, everything has a price. Yoongi let out a dry, bitter laugh. Even here too. Everything's just business. "What are my..choices?" Yoongi tried to find the right word to describe, but it's just ing hard too. There is so much unwillingness in his mind to set on this path, but given the character he had, he was bound to do so.

Seokjin placed his fingers on his chin, pondering. True, what does this soul have left to offer? He had nothing but rotted vengeance in his kind soul. Seokjin reached backwards for to plate of snacks. He needed to think it through, carefully. Yoongi was also deep in thought, about the things he had done. They were right but wrong, heaven but hell and pleasing yet guilt-inducing. Life just couldn't be pleasant for him. In short, his life was filled with fleeting happiness and long lasting just mean downhill spirals of impending doom.

"Perhaps." Seokjin paused, unwilling to continue. "What?" Yoongi huffed, impatience and frustration evident. "Erase…your existence," Seokjin said, barely above a whisper. Yoongi's face turned thoughtful. "Everything?" he asked. Seokjin nodded. "Everything," he repeated. Yoongi climbed off the bed and made his way to the balcony, sliding open the glass doors. The breeze caressed his face, reminding him of his mother's touch on his face when he was young. He closed his eyes and relished in the feeling, while it could last. Seokjin clambered off the bed and joined Yoongi, his back resting on the railings.

"You don't have to do this, though," Seokjin said, his eyes looking up into Yoongi's face trying to decipher what he was thinking. Yoongi opened his eyes, the brown within dark as night. His face held an unreadable emotion, and his mouth opened and closed. "You seem hesitant," Seokjin observed, secretly rejoicing inside. "No." Yoongi's firm reply made him jolt in despair. "You don't have to do this," Seokjin whispered a slight pleading tone that neared desperation.

"You know me, hyung." Yoongi mouthed, smiling at Seokjin as unshed tears he was holding in rolled down his cheeks. His lips stretched further into a full-blown grin, his gums on the show. Seokjin couldn't help but smile back amidst the reality that's becoming real. He had always dreaded this day, ever since the day he stepped into Yoongi's dreams with his tea tray and plates of snacks.

"Do it, grim reaper. Or should I say the one up above all, hyung?" Yoongi smiled back at Seokjin, a serene smile on his face. Yoongi closed his eyes, waiting for the hand of verdict to lay upon his life. Wasted, most likely but in an odd sense, fulfilling and full of realised wonders.
