Chapter 7: Jeon Jungkook is that you?

“We are safe” the mysterious guy finally broke the silence. Sera’s eyes widened ‘This voice. It could not be him right’ she shuddered at this weird encounter. The guy looked down at Sera’s shocked face, now she could see his face clearly ‘It is him.. Jeon Jungkook’ she froze.

The old memories came back creeping and she found it was hard for her to breath. Jungkook could tell she was shaking so hard, he pulled down his hand over “Are you o-“he knew this girl, the girl from his school.

“Sera?” Jungkook muttered her name causing Sera too clutch onto his arm for support. That voice, that look, and this guy why was he back in Sera’s life. Was it pure coincidence or was it fate?

Jungkook felt Sera’s gripped getting tighter around his arm, he was afraid she might collapse by anytime soon “Sera, are you okay?” he held onto her hand. “It is not safe here we need to get to brighter place and much safer for you” he mumbled.

Sera did not flinch as she continued to stare blankly at Jungkook, it was like a dream. Sunhi and Sera just had a talk about how she had to forget him and now look who was standing before her, Jungkook. Jungkook took her hand as he led her out from the dark alley, she had no idea where they were heading.

She mindlessly followed Jungkook from behind ‘What is this? Why he is here? He looks different’ she realized how jumpy Jungkook was every time they walked passes the street. They stopped in front of a 24 hours convenience store; he made her sit down outside as he entered the store.

Sera let out a soft sigh in relief ‘At least I could brain this whole thing happening to me now. Jeon Jungkook how is it possible?’ her gaze followed Jungkook who was looking for something in the store. As soon as he paid the stuff that he bought, he exited the store and took a seat beside Sera.

Sera stiffened in her seat, she had no idea what to say ‘Should I be happy? Upset? Angry? Or keep it cool?’ Jungkook cleared his throat “ So..Are you okay? What were you doing in that alley? It was not a place for a girl like you.” he sighed. Sera noticed he sounded different since the last time they talk, not shy but he sounded cold and emotionless.

“I was chased by some drunkards. I did not know what to do. It is common sense to run right? But, I am okay..Thank you Jungkook for helping me” she hated to utter that name again, a name that she should have long forgotten.

“And that drunkard actually hit you? You are bleeding, Sera” he mumbled. He took out the ointment that he bought earlier, he slowly touch the corner of her lips sending weird signals in her tummy. ‘Not this feeling again. I can’t be doing this’ Sera flinched a little as it stings.

She watched Jungkook carefully rubbing the ointment on her small cuts, he sighed. “Be careful. Don’t go out alone especially at night.” Sera bit her lower lips holding back smile. He might sound different but he is still Jeon Jungkook that she knew 5 years ago. Jungkook still look so breathtaking, his perfect jaw line, that deep yet pure eyes and his lips that used to tug the most handsome smile, it fluttered her.

Jungkook saw bruises on her knees assuming that she might actually tripped along the way to that dangerous alley; he kneeled before her and carefully lifted the hem of her dress a little above her knees.

Sera blinked at his sudden bold action; five years ago the same guy would not even dare to look her in the eyes. People did change after all. He cleaned her bleeding knees with clean water, and wiped it off before applying cream and plasters. “So how are you? I never see you ever since we graduated” Sera tried to break the silence; she took the courage to look down at him.

“I..am okay. Doing things here and there” Jungkook chose to give her short reply.

Sera did not want to sound nosy so she just nodded, “Glad you are doing okay. Oh, I probably should call Sunhi. She must be worried sick” she muttered to avoid this awkward atmosphere. Sera made a quick call , making sure her friends knew the direction so they could pick her up.

She relieved to hear Sunhi’s voice, and that girl did not even stop nagging her expressing how worried she was. She could imagine how those two freaked out knowing that she was missing in the midst of the horrifying incident with Sunhi’s idiotic ex boyfriend.

“I should go, don’t wander around. Just stay here until your friend come” Jungkook arose from his seat. Sera was contemplating whether to ask for his contact or she should just shrug the thought of, but it was her only chance to get closure. She needed to tell him in order for her to move on, she didn’t like Jungkook as much as like before. However, it bothered how her heart still fluttered when she saw him, those lingering feelings for him. Sera knew she must get rid of it before she had false hope on him.

Sera grabbed his wrist before he managed to walk away “Thank you. I should repay your kindness sometimes” the fact that she was holding onto his hand, she sure was crazy.

“No problem. You don’t need to” Jungkook’s lips tug into a small smile yet he still looked dashing.

“If you don’t mind..” Sera handed her phone to his direction, he tilted his head in confusion “Give me your number. I should at least buy you coffee or tea.” She smiled with hope he would at least give him his contact.

It was rather a long pause before Jungkook took her phone and pushed his number inside “ Call me if you want to have that coffee” he bowed slightly, leaving Sera. Sera watched as his sight disappeared from her sight, she sighed deeply ‘He doesn’t seem like the old Jungkook. I wonder what happen’ she leaned her b
