Chapter 29: Be not decieved with the first apperance of things,for show is not a substance.

After a long debate, Jimin gave in to Sera’s request. He knew how much that girl hated hospitals and needles, so he decided to get her small cuts treated at home. Sera warned him not to mention anything about the incident to Jin because that guy would ditch his work just to check on her.

She did not like that. Jin was in the midst of an important project and he must focus on completing it instead of babysitting her. Hence, being an obedient boyfriend he called Jungkook to come over just in case he needed more hands if Chulsuk decided to show up again tonight.

Giving himself no chance to rest after his long shift, Jungkook went straight to Sera’s place as soon as the news broke. He was angry, confused and tried to make sense from it since he expected Max willing to go this far just to taunt him.

Jungkook pushed the password that Jimin gave him earlier and the door clicked open. He kicked his shoes making his way inside to Sera’s room. He managed to heave a relief sigh to see Sera sleeping peacefully “You are here..” Jimin muttered softly.

“Is she okay? Was the cut deep?” Jungkook carefully sat at the edge of the bed, gazing at Sera’s face.

“Thankfully it is not that deep. He got away when the police came” both of them expelled a deep sigh. Jimin her hair softly and he still couldn’t get over the horror of losing Sera again for the second time.

Jungkook ran fingers in his hair “He is taunting me. Max’s eyes are everywhere and I am sure he knows what we are up to. We need to stop this, or Sera could get hurt again” he couldn’t stand watching the girl that he loved so dearly being one of Max’s targets anymore.

“Kkuk..You are closed to finding Max’s weakness, just a little more. You can’t give up that easily” Jimin frowned disagreed with what he proposed.

“If that can stop him to go after everyone especially Sera, I am willing to give up anything even my own life Jimin. This is getting absurd, I can’t see more people die in my place” his voice softened and sounded broken. The memories of his parents death was not easy to forget and would haunt him for the rest of his life.

Jimin shook his head “If Sera hears this, she will be furious. We are in this together Kkuk, and I can’t let you raise white flag for that bastard. He needs to be punished according to law, death will not be sufficient” he gave the younger guy a warm smile.

“So, don’t think of giving up. As for Sera, we will find way to keep her safe. She wants the same thing too. If she really wants to give you up in exchange of her freedom, she could have done it when Chulsuk asked for you” he sighed.

Jungkook flinched “Chulsuk asked for me in exchanged of her life?” his breath hitched when he saw Jimin nodded with his eyes fixed on Sera. “And she didn’t comply with his request?” he continued with a frown. It angered him just what on earth was in Sera’s mind; she could just sell him out instead of putting her life in danger.

“She is fearless, Kook. No one can stop her” Jimin’s finger continued to trace Sera’s cheek.

He had to make sure come up with a quick plan soon and it was no longer can be delayed since Max was on the move. This time when Max strike it would get uglier than last time. Max would not spare even a single life and he’s not prepared to face him.

Jimin decided not to trust Taehyung after the unfortunate event with Sera in the club, so he practically banned him from going out alone with her. It annoyed Taehyung but he knew the more he fought that guy, Jimin would always win in the end. On the other hand, Sera was no longer allowed to walk around without anyone as long as it was not Taehyung.

Sera just ended her last theatre performance for the week. Even though she landed a small role in this play but she had fun meeting new people especially an eight years old boy that she just met during the play. One week was sufficient for the bonding process and she found herself liking the presence of that little boy. The boy got so much talent in him, it somewhat made Sera proud to see him realizing his talent sooner. A bright future awaits him.

“Noona.. Remember to give me a call even though this plays already ended” the boy smiled cutely showing off the dimple on his right cheek.

Sera his hair with a sweet smile “Of course Minyeol. Let’s grab ice cream sometimes. Is your nanny here yet? Let me walk you to your car” she offered assistance since it was dangerous to walk alone at this time.

“It is okay. Ahjumma will be waiting for me over there. See you again Sera noona, Bye!” Minyeol bowed politely like he always did to everyone with his little cute wave.

“Get back home safely!” Sera giggled watching the kid running towards a black sedan. She shifted her attention to find Hoseok and Namjoon who volunteered to accompany her tonight. Hoseok texted her 30 minutes ago letting her know that they would be waiting for her across the road.

‘Poor oppas they must be starving and cold’ she hugged her body to warmth herself. A loud screech and high pitch squeal startled her, as she tore her eyes towards the direction of the sound. She gasped in horror to see Minyeol being dragged inside a silver van by a tall guy in black suit.

The loud thud from the silver van brought her back to reality and she tried to reach her phone to call for help. Within a second, the van left the scene and it feared her since she didn’t get the clear picture of the license plate. Afraid that she might lose the silver van, she decided to hail a cab and tailed the kidnapper from behind.

She was sure no one but her witnessed the scene happened in front of her few minutes ago. It was just too fast and everything still seemed blurry in her mind. Sera tried to control her heavy breathing and pushed “911” number to make a report. It was hard for her to explain the whole thing as she was stuttering between her words, but she managed to give important details for them to send help.

The tense that she felt along the journey made her mind numb, she fidgeted nervously in her seat but her eyes never left the silver van in front. She tried to brain the whole thing, why on earth someone would abduct an innocent kid?
