Chapter 24: It takes one minute to make someone's day,and one word to fix the lies

Jimin barged into Namjoon’s apartment straight to where Jungkook sat; he grabbed the boy’s collar pulling him up on his feet. Within a second a hard punch landed on Jungkook’s face that startled everyone in the room. Giving the younger boy no time to react, he pinned Jungkook against the wall and threw another hard punches on his stomach. Jungkook grunted in pain but he didn’t fight back. He was aware why Jimin was this mad.

Yoongi grabbed Jimin’s fist blocking him from throwing more punches, using his strength he broke Jimin away from Jungkook. Taehyung and Namjoon caught Jungkook from collapsing on the ground as set him straight.

“WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO SERA?” Jimin fumed in anger; it was unusual to see him this angry. He had always been a calm guy but when he got mad, no one would dare to look him in the eyes.

Jin helped Yoongi to block him from moving and marched to Jungkook again, that poor guy was not at fault. He was a victim too. Two hours ago when Jin received a panic call from Jungkook, he postponed his filming immediately and went straight to the hospital.

He was angry at first but after Jungkook spilled everything about his past, Big Max, his mother and how that scumbag used Sera as a threat he decided not to resent Jungkook. His only goal was to retrieve his sister back safe and sound. Jin decided to tell the hospital management that he wished to discharge Sera to avoid any suspicion at all cost.

After things were settled with the hospital so they went to Namjoon’s apartment and Jin told Jimin about Sera’s disappearance over the phone. He didn’t want to explain the details as he would leave that to Jungkook. The result of Jin’s hazy explanation at the end of the line caused Jimin to be this furious.

Jungkook wiped the blood at the corner of his lips “I am sorry hyung..” he was ashamed of putting his guard down when he knew Max still watched him especially Sera.

“Sorry won’t change anything. WHERE THE HELL WAS YOU? Why her disappearance has something to do with you? WHAT DID YOU DO JEON JUNGKOOK. ING ANSWER ME!” he yelled as he struggled in Jin and Yoongi strong grip.

Taehyung gave his shoulder a light squeeze with a slight nod “I think you need to calm down Jimin, let’s talk about this calmly” he eyed angry Jimin who breathing heavily, trying to calm down. Namjoon helped Jungkook to sit down on the couch beside Hoseok, as he settled down beside him.

“Jimin..please you need to hear him out. Calm down for Sera’s sake” Jin sighed heavily and nodded at Yoongi signalling it was okay to release Jimin. Both of them took a step backward as they watched Jimin closely.

He took a seat across Jungkook, gritting his teeth “ Spill everything. Don’t leave any single details. I am warning you Jungkook” Jimin dangerous eyes pierced through Jungkook’s orbs sending chill down his spine.

The atmosphere in the room was tense and heavy; others were feeling nausea just at the sight of Jimin and Jungkook exchanging hard looks. They tried not to break the silence as it would stir an unnecessary awkward atmosphere.

“Hyung…” Jungkook voice croaked as tears start to well up in his eyes. Jimin flinched in his seat. He might be angry but he never hated Jungkook, he cared for him like a family. Hence, it hurt him to see the younger guy broke down. He never saw him cried before him because Jungkook had always been the cheerful and playful one.

Jimin tilted his head with a baffle look, he was curious to know his side of story now. Hoseok pat Jungkook back softly giving the boy strength to continue, it was not easy for Jungkook to remember his bitter past all over again.

Jungkook clutched his fist, taking a deep breath before broke the silence again “Hyung…Remember the last thing that I told you over the phone before I disappeared?” he muttered under his breath.

Jimin brows knitted together trying to recall his last conversation with Jungkook few years ago, he knew it was their last conversation before he lost contact. A flash of memory rushed into his mind.

“Hyung…If I ever turn into a bad guy will you still consider me as a friend?” his soft sight could be heard at the end of the line.

Jimin chuckled “Of course, you will still be my friend. I am in no position to judge you but wait why are you asking me this? Are you going to rob a bank?” he raised his voice, suspicious.

“Tsk do you want a share? I will make sure to give you 10% of the money that I rob” he rolled his eyes.

“Make it 25% Kookie~” Jimin laughed with his unusual helium voice.

Jungkook scoffed “Remind me not to be your friend in the afterlife. But…hyung..I will be busy after this we may not be able to meet like before. Well, my father’s business is doing pretty well, and he decided to open up a new branch” he lied.

“That is unusual for you to call me hyung all the time. What did you eat? Psh psh. It is okay, you need to help your dad I am happy his business is doing well. Just don’t turn into an ungrateful s after you become rich” Jungkook flinched at his sincerity. If and only he could tell him the truth about his situation, he might need that support from someone close.

He controlled his voice from breaking down “I will buy you a huge Pokémon characters doll next time we meet” he could imagine Jimin rolling his eyes, annoyed.

“Hyung..One day, if you can’t reach me will you find me and bring me back to where I belong?” Jimin flinched at the sudden seriousness in Jungkook voice. He did not understand what he tried to hint but he was sure it had another meaning behind it.

“Yah…Jeon Jungkook stop talking nonsense. You can rely on me” he cleared his throat to wash the awkwardness away.

Jungkook voice brought him back to reality “One day, if you can’t reach me will you find me and bring me back to where I belong?” the corner of his lips tugged into a small smile “That’s what I told you..” Jimin shifted in his seat, as his lips pressed together forming a thin line.

The warm air filled the small living room as none of them dare to utter anything. After taking a long breath and glancing over at Jimin, Jungkook expelled his past. He started off with the horrifying incident involving his father death, Big Max, his life after the Max’s thing, his plan to end Max, his mother death and Sera.

Everyone listened to Jungkook side of story attentively. Jimin was not surprised the part of him kissing Sera because he remembered she told him about the unintentional kiss before. The only thing that upset him, Jungkook never told him about the problem that he faced.

He thought they were like brothers and in what sense that Jungkook didn’t trust him enough to tell him this. He was disappointed. He could have helped that poor boy but Jungkook chose to push him away in order to save his life. Jimin did not need anyone to protect him, he could look after himself.

“What makes you think it is okay to tell me nothing? After all, we come to this. You are putting Sera’s life in danger” Jimin snapped.

Jungkook looked down, his hair in frustration “I know, I should have told you sooner when I met you again in front of the school. It is not okay to see Max using others to get me especially people that I care. I dragged Sera in this, I will do anything to get her back” his sighed full with resentment.

“This is no time to argue Jimin. You want your girl back we have to do this together. Max is not an easy match, he is ruthless. I know what Jungkook did was wrong, but can’t you see the positive side? He is in no position to tell anyone about this especially you when his mom was a hostage.
