Chapter 37: If I could wish one thing I'd hear you call my name again

Six months later…

“Let me help you”

“I can walk”

“No you don’t, you are staggering”

“Im concentrating Song Sunhi..”

“Ugh.. don’t be stubborn”

“IM PERFECTLY FINE”

“No you don’t look fine to me”

“You are not my doctor. Today is my last therapy can’t you see I’m walking properly” Jimin despised Sunhi over friendly action around him, since she was clinging onto him like there’s no tomorrow. He had been following his therapy diligently these past few months and it surprised him to see how much progressed he did in a short period of time. The therapist said normally it would take one up 1-2 years to heal properly but in his case, he was lucky. His strong will to get back on his feet helped him anyways.

Six months passed by quickly and he didn’t realize how much time he wasted longing for Sera. After his last conversation with Jungkook that night, he tried to convince himself to apologize. He ended up breaking his promise that he made. Jimin thought it was not the right time to suddenly barge in and take her again in his life after the stunt that he pulled. She was not some kind of Barbie doll. Sera needed time to heal from broken heart. Meanwhile, Jimin would do anything to make himself worthy for the girl that she loved. At least he had nothing to be insecure about now.

His friendship with Jin was going stronger than ever even though that older guy ignored him for a week after learning the truth about their break up. Jin was pissed off, of course but he supported both of them anyhow. Now and then, Jimin would ask Jin about Sera and he gladly told him everything about her every single day without missed. Jin suddenly became their love cupid, it annoyed him. These two immature kids need to get back together soon, so he could end his noble job.

“Baby….are you done babysitting your arrogant step brother” he heard a clear voice chimed making his way to their direction. It was definitely Jung Hoseok.

Don’t make him start, he had no idea how Sunhi and Hoseok ended up dating each other. He couldn’t remember Hoseok fawning over his sister and for some reason a month ago; they came up to him claiming that they were dating.

The news shocked everyone because no one expected classy girl like Sunhi would choose someone sloppy like Hoseok. It was more like Hoseok personality was too bright for a dull and girl with class like Sunhi. Oh well, sometimes thing didn’t turn out like they plan resembled his relationship with Sera. None of them expected this to happen yet Jimin knew there was still room for second chance.

Gathering useful information from Jin was indeed helpful for his future relationship with Sera. He found out Sera had been keeping herself occupied with various theatre performances. Most importantly, she’s still single. It turned out Sera was still keeping up with Jimin’s life via her brother. She sure did not learn from past that Jin had a big mouth, though she insisted him to keep the secret away from Jimin. Jin would still sell the information away for sure.

Sera was a keeper and that wouldn’t change. Jimin had to admit that.

“Since he has legs now he refuses my help. What an airhead” Sunhi crossed her arms as she snorted.

“Ouch, how I wish he lost his memory instead of his ability to walk. He is the king of devil” Hoseok chortled earning a glare from Jimin.

“You do realize you still need my approval if you want to marry Sunhi right?” he frowned.

“Yah, what are you? Do I have to remind you I am your hyung, technically” Hoseok gave the younger boy a nasty look. Jimin was too lazy to prolong his bicker with Hoseok and decided to hush the lovebird back home. Both of them insisted to come when he could walk by himself, the therapy was a huge miracle.

Today would be the fresh start for him, it was never too late for him. The first thing that he would do was to meet Sera, he didn’t know when or where or even how to start but there’s way.

She took a long sip from her hot drinks, it soothe away the coldness which numb her system. These days she preferred to spend her free time at random coffee shops in city to cease the boredom in her. It was more like another way to distract herself from remembering Jimin.

She was dying to meet Jimin. His warmth, his sweet scent, his intoxicating voice, it was not easy to live her life empty from his presence. Even though, she heard things from her brother but it was not the same. Sera wished Jimin was in front of her, at this rate she really wanted to hold him close and never let him go.

Her cold lips exhaled a long and heavy sigh as the memory of her and Jimin crept in. How long she had to wait for him? Her patience had reached its limits months ago but for some reason her instinct assured her to stay.

After staying thirty more minutes mopping about her sad love story, she arose from her seat to find another spot for her to daydream. Her mind was distracted by the thought of Jimin and she didn’t realize the entrance door of the café that she pushed slammed someone on their face.

Sera gasped in horror realizing her clumsiness had caused someone to get hurt “Oh my god..” she quickly went out and crouched in front of him “Are you okay? I am so sorry.. I didn-“ her eyes widened at the sight of the handsome man before her.

“I don’t expect this kind of first greeting Kim Sera” she heard him broke the silence while rubbing his red nose.

Her worried face now changed into a bright smile “JEON JUNGKOOK” she crashed onto his body with a tight hug. Jungkook blinked confusedly with a small chuckle, he expected a teddy bear hug at least after their last meeting.

“Why didn’t you tell me that you are coming?” Sera buried herself in his warm embrace. Only god knows how much she missed this guy.

Jungkook squished her into a tight hug before both of them got up as they were practically blocking the path “I want to surprise you. So I ask Jin hyung where you going” he Sera’s now dark brown hair. She looked feminine and elegant in this hairstyle. Not to mention, she got prettier in his eyes.

She looked up with that eye smile of hers “I am glad to see you again Kkuk-ah! Look at you, you are becoming-“ Jungkook cut it off as if he could read her mind.

“Handsome, muscular, manly, sweet and dashing. I know” he nodded with a proud smug.

“You arrogant” Sera flinched while rolling her eyes in annoyance. She reached out to squish his face together with a giggle “You are still a baby though!” Jungkook squished her wrist shooting the girl a playful glare.

“But seriously I have been missing you my Sera Sera” he threw his arms around her neck, pulling her close “How are you doing?” they started to stroll along the street taking their sweet times catching up on each other.

They exchanged funny stories mostly everything that they did past few months. It surprised Sera how much Jungkook had changed, he looked better than ever. Jungkook was busy preparing to enter college since he planned to take a pre-law course in one of Seoul
