(FLASHBACK cont.-still part of the letter)

Donghae's POV

     Our bodies were a tangled heap on the grass. Our legs were knotted together while our faces were only a few inches apart. I continued to look into Jessica's eyes in complete shock. She on the other hand glared up at me with the cutest angry expression I had ever seen. I shifted my gaze from her furious eyes to admire the way her eyebrows furrowed and her lips formed a childlike pout. Then, I noticed a light blush coloring her cheeks that, even in the darkness, was visible. Unconciously, I began to grin, but appartently Jessica didn't like our situation as much as I did.

    "Donghae what are you doing?!" she yelled. Jessica pushed my chest forcing me to get off. I shifted our positions and sat on the ground next to her. I rubbed my elbow which I had hurt during the fall. As I watched Jessica sit up I noticed she was hurt as well and I immediately began to worry.

    "Are you okay?" I hesitantly asked her. After all, I still wasn't sure if we were on friendly terms yet. After rubbing her back, she finally turned to look at me. Surprisingly, her face wasn't as angry as I had imagined it would be. This gave me some confidence in talking with her, and I felt a sudden surge of emotion. I said the words that had been eating at me the past few days.

     "I'm sorry." I couldn't of hold it in any longer, and this was the perfect time to say it. I waited for her response with my eyes glued to the ground. Suddenly, I felt two small arms go around my neck. Jessica was hugging me.

     "It's okay. Honestly this was a really stupid fight, and I was starting to miss you like crazy," she whispered. Her voice was a little shaky, and it sounded like she was going to start crying. I guess she had really hurt herself in the fall. Quickly, I wrapped my arms around her body and held her close to me. I couldn't remember us ever have a hug like this before. It seemed to mean so much more.

     We stayed like that for a while. I didn't want to pay attention to the time. All I wanted was this moment never to end. I was sitting with my legs straight out in front of me while she was sitting on her knees next to me at my right. Her body was leaning into me, and she had her face in my shoulder. It felt so good to have her this close to me. She smelled like she had just showered, and her strawberry scented hair was intoxicating. I moved my face to the side in order to take her scent in, but just as I moved, she shifted out of my embrace, probably startled by my sudden movement. As she did this, my lips accidentaly brushed against her flawless, soft cheek. Once again we were completely still and looking into each other's eyes, only inches apart.

Jessica's POV

     It took all my courage to hug him, and when I did I never wanted to let go. He was softer to lean into than I had imagined, and I could smell his cologne perfectly with my face pressed against his shoulder. It wasn't too strong, but it was a soothing smell. Before we had even started hugging, I had felt tears threatening to pour out of my eyes. Now, I was furiously trying to blink them away. I guess being away from him had really torn me apart.

     When I felt him move, I thought he was getting uncomfortable with our position. I took a deep breath and moved back. He unlocked his arms from around me as well. Suddenly, I felt something soft brush against my cheek. I turned my face to look at him and realized that he was only inched away from me. I also realized that it had been his lips that had touched me. I could feel my face burn as we continued to stare at each other. However, unlike when he had fallen on top of me, I couldn't bring myself to push him away. I was hypnotized. 

     There was a cold wind that howled past us through the night air. Unfortunately, I was only wearing my red soffe shorts and an old gray t-shirt. I shivered lightly without taking my eyes off of Donghae. Slowly, he brought his hand up to my face and pushed a stand of my hair out of my face which the wind had messed up. I took a deep breath and brought my own hand up to keep his hand against my face. My heart was thundering in my chest so loud that I was sure he could hear it.

     Donghae smiled, but there was hint of nervousness in his face. He began moving closer to me, and instinctively I closed my eyes. However, I didn't feel his lips touch mine like I expected. Instead, I heard his sweet voice next to my ear.

Donghae's POV

     As we stared at each other once again, I knew it was the perfect moment to kiss her. But I didn't know if that was what Jessica wanted. Did she even like me that way? Unlike with other girls, I wasn't sure how Jessica reacted when I was romantic with her. I knew Yoona liked me. I thought back to her reaction when I gave her the flower.

     I had actually gone to Yoona's house in order to get my mind off of things, and it had worked. There was something about Yoona that made me forget about stress, and I had left her house with a big smiled on my face. I had tricked myself into thinking I could be perfectly happy without Jessica in my life. But when I bumped into Jessica the world felt right again. There was somehting more when I was with her.

     So, instead of kissing Jessica like I desperately wanted to, I moved to her ear and whispered.

     "I'm happy I have my best friend back"

Jessica's POV

     After I heard him whisper in my ear, I was filled with mixed emotions. What he said meant that we were back to normal, but the problem was whether I just wanted normal or if I wanted something more than that. Stupid Sica! Did I really think he was going to kiss me? I was his best friend- just his best friend.

     Slowly, I moved out of our embrace and sat back in the same position Donghae was in. I gave him a quick smile telling him I was happy to have him back as well. After that, there was an awkward silence between us, and I refused to look at him. Instead, I closed my eyes and just let my thoughts wander.

No POV

     Donghae smiled back at Sica and watched her sit back in a more comfortable position. He didn't seem to be as concerned about the awkward silence as Jessica was. He just continued to gaze at her. From her slightly damp hair (probably from a recent shower), to her closed eyes, to her loose shirt, and finally to her perfect legs on which his gaze lingered for longer than he would care to admit. While looking at her, Donghae couldn't help but compare her to Yoona.

     After seeing Yoona in a y nightsuit, it was hard to imagine Donghae would ever forget Yoona's perfect body. Still, Jessica's body was stunning as well, While Yoona was tall, slender, and model-like, Jessica was shorter and more athletic. Not to mention the perfect curves that Jessica couldn't seem to hide no matter how hard she tried. Both girls were gorgeous, but, like always, there was something about Jessica that did something more to Donghae. While he took a long glance at Yoona, he couldn't help but just outright stare at Jessica.

     Suddenly, an oblivious Jessica let out a long sigh, and Donghae forced himself to look away. Jessica lazily turned her head to admire Donghae who was now observing the stars.

     "Jessica look! Shooting stars!" Donghae burst into motion and started pointing at the sky. Startled, SIca jumped and began looking around her as though the stars were falling to the ground. Donghae saw this and chuckled. He rolled his eyes and grabbed her face in his hands. Stealthily, he stole a glimpse into her eyes before turning her too look up.

     "Not on the ground stupid. They're in the sky, Look!" Both of them watched in awe as the pretty diamond- like specs zoomed through the sky.

     "Quick make a wish," Jessica commanded excitedly. She covered Donghae's eyes with one hand and closed her own. Donghae smiled and placed his arm around her shoulders. He brought his right hand to cover her eyes as well although they were already closed. He was ready to take any excuse in order to be closer to her. 

     Unknowingly, they wished for the same thing. They wished for the chance to be together.
