After eating their breakfast and Baekhyun changing back to his own clothes they both got inside the car for Chanyeol was called for some important meeting regarding his solo comeback. Baekhyun had thanked several times for being invited to a sleepover and for everything he has done.

It was a long ride but eventually they got to Luhan’s apartment. Chanyeol was nice enough to follow the smaller to the door which the other quickly rejected but Chanyeol paid no interest in that. 

”So I expect you to call me later.” He said as they were both standing in front of the door.

”Huh?” Baekhyun stared dumbfounded at him.

”You will know.” Said Chanyeol and before leaving he ruffled Baekhyun’s bangs and walked out of the apartment with a tiny smile and a happy heart. 

Baekhyun stood there savoring the warmth of the other’s hand. He could feels his cheeks being all hot and red from shyness.

Remembering that he was still standing outside he quickly got inside and locked the front door, not forgetting to ask if someone is home but he received no answers.

His two best friends were barely home and he didn’t know where they always go. If they are with their boyfriends does Jongin and Sehun have that much free time? Or does Luhan and Kyungsoo have the opportunity to follow them everywhere? If so, lucky them. Baekhyun pouted at his thoughts and proceeded to walk inside, his eyes landed on his bedroom door and so he quickly ran inside to jump on his bed since he was kind of longing after his own fluffy bed.

But he was met with something else than a fluffy bed.

It’s a box enough for lots of things to fit inside unless there is something huge. He wondered who it was from and as he searched for the name nothing was there. He shrugged and opened the box since it actually was right on his bed. Which must mean it’s for him, right?

With a racing heart he ripped the box apart and as soon as he caught the thing inside his vision became blurry in a instant.

Right in front of him laid Exo’s album,signed by each member on the front. He even got photo cards of every member but most of them was of Chanyeol. On every cards at the back of them there was the autograph of his favorite idol in the world. There is a poster of Chanyeol which he knows he immediately will put on the ceiling above his bed.

Baekhyun did literally get everything he could ask for. The last thing left was a white card with something written on and as he read he couldn’t help but smile like an idiot and his cheeks being stained with dried tears.

Baekhyun grabbed the nearest pillow and screamed against it with all his might. He was filled with happiness and he jumped up and down in his room. 

He now knew why Chanyeol wants him to call later.

Baekhyun jumped on his bed and dialed Chanyeol’s number immediately. He didn’t know if he was still in the meeting but nevertheless he called anyway. Surprisingly the elder answered with a happy voice.

”Hi Baekhyun, did you see my gift?”

Was it the happiness? Perhaps. But Baekhyun was bawling right now, his snot now stuck on his pillow. ”Thank you!~” He cried out and wiped his tears away though they kept coming back.

Chanyeol laughed on the other side. ”You’re welcome. You deserve it anyway for being a good person with a kind heart.”

As Chanyeol was complimenting him Baekhyun was trying to steady his breath but the words were too much.

”Even though we haven’t known each other in person for a long time you still think I’m kind! YOU’RE SO NICE CHANYEOL!” Baekhyun exclaims as he wipes his snot with his sweater. He didn’t care if he looked nasty because right now he was having the time of his life.

”Aww~don’t cry.” Chanyeol teased which made Baekhyun stop making sounds. The taller wrinkled his eyebrows waiting for any responds but it was quiet on the other line. ”Baek?” Then a sniffle was heard. ”Hey are you okay?”

”I’m just thankful and…you…” He sighed once he had calmed down. Chanyeol was so different right now. So relaxed and Baekhyun liked it a lot. This must mean they really are close enough if Chanyeol can be all goofy, right?

”What about me?”

”Nothing.” Baekhyun smiled to himself. The line went silence but it was comfortable.

”So I just ended the meeting and I’m free. Want to hang out again?”

Baekhyun widened his eyes just a bit. ”Hang out? Aren’t you busy? Like…um, I don’t know…” He sounded rather unsure but he assumed the Exo members were really busy so he was a bit lost to why Chanyeol chose him to hang with when he could practically choose anyone.

”Well I’m not busy for you!” Chanyeol’s cheerful voice made Baekhyun’s heart skip a beat. If only that giant knew what he did to his heart….

”Alright. But when? It feels like we just met though.” He joked.

”Hey, it’s never too much to be with your friend.”

Baekhyun pouted feeling a sting on his heart.

Stupid stupid Baekhyun! You should know by now that Chanyeol doesn’t like you that way!!

”Yeah…”

”Are you okay?” Chanyeol asked concerned.

”I’m fine! Just…very surprised by your words.”

”Huh?”

”It’s nothing….when should we meet then?”

Chanyeol had picked him up not longer than 20 minutes later. They had been driving for almost 2 hours and Baekhyun still didn’t know where they were heading. It was already turning dark outside and he wondered and wondered as he looked out. ”It’s a surprise!” He said when Baekhyun asked several times.

”Please~Tell me where we are going.” Baekhyun whined this time. He showed his puppy eyes once the red lights showed up.

When Chanyeol saw that he had immediately stopped in his track and stared right into his eyes which made the smaller tense a bit. Chanyeol leaned closer and closer without breaking any eye contact and before they knew they were only an inch apart to just share a kiss. However the green light hit them on their faces and Chanyeol had quickly gone back to have his focus on the road.

Baekhyun looked out from the window with the most reddest face ever and his heart almost exploding. He did not know what this meant or if Chanyeol was actually going to kiss him for real. Whatever it was made him feel a bit giddy inside. And hope.

10 minutes later Chanyeol had finally stopped the car - accidentally scaring Baekhyun as he shook his tiny body. The said boy was drifting off to sleep since he was kind of bored during the ride. ”Huh? Where are we?” He asked with droopy eyes. Chanyeol had to look away or else he would be in the same situation he was in before.

He didn’t know what happened to him but for some reason he wanted to kiss those pinky lips and he somehow lost control. If it wasn’t for the lights changing then what would’ve happen between them? He still feels something for Baekhyun, he’s sure because it’s still there. The ticklish feeling in his stomach and the not so steady heart. But he’s not sure what to do. He has already told Baekhyun he doesn’t have the same feeling and beside, he can’t really have a relationship with someone from the same gender. Or maybe that’s something he says to himself to have an excuse just to feel ease.

Chanyeol is scared. That’s it.

To try change the atmosphere because Baekhyun was looking at him questionable he smiled widely and got out from the car. The other was still inside looking in every movement Chanyeol did and then the door to the passenger seat opened.

”You don’t trust me?” He asked with a soothing voice and Baekhyun could only stare at his handsome face. ”Am I that good looking?” Chanyeol smirked.

”W-what?” Baekhyun’s cheeks were flushed and he quickly got out. How can he be so reckless and just stare at him that way? But it seemed like Chanyeol liked it.

He did trust Chanyeol and so that’s why he was walking behind him to a mountain in the dark. Almost stumbling because he couldn’t see properly.

A few moments later they were finally up at the top and Chanyeol laid down on his back, patting on the place beside him. Baekhyun fiddled with the hem of his hoodie and laid beside with a good distance; so there weren’t any body contact. Chanyeol noticed this and moved closer.

”Surprise!” Chanyeol suddenly said loudly extending his arms up to the sky. It was then when Baekhyun looked up he understood why Chanyeol wanted this to be a surprise. His heart was beating hard against his ribcage. The fact that Chanyeol would use his free time for him was way too much to take in. Baekhyun was falling deeply in love with the taller.

He couldn’t help but to ask why Chanyeol picked him out of everyone he had in his social life. ”Why did you take me here?” Baekhyun asked in a whispery tone.

Chanyeol looked at Baekhyun for a second and smiled. ”Because I like to be with you. Is it wrong?”

”No! Of course it’s not wrong but it’s weird, I guess.” Baekhyun mumbled, chewing a bit on his lower lip.

The only good thing right now when it comes to Chanyeol ”liking” Baekhyun in a more than a friend way is that he can pretend this is just about friendship. Baekhyun wouldn’t suspect anything since he made himself clear that there is no such thing as love between them. The thought does hurt him but the future hurts him more. 

”Why?” He asked, curious to know.

”Because you are supposed to take another person here! Someone who means something more to you. This is way too romantic.” Baekhyun’s face was by now red and it was good it was dark or else Chanyeol would have seen it. However, without thinking those words hit Chanyeol so hard but he didn’t show it.

It’s true though. Chanyeol would actually never do this with another person except for someone special. Because this is indeed quite romantic. Seems like he and Baekhyun have something more in common.

”Come on Baek, relax. Look at the stars and let all the burden and stress release from your body.” Chanyeol quickly answered so they could stop this subject. It was making him sweat.

Baekhyun pouted. ”Fine.” As soon as he had exhaled out he had gasped loudly from the sight. ”A SHOOTING STAR!” He exclaimed and quickly sat up to wish something. A wish he always begs for. Obviously it’s nothing else than to be with Chanyeol forever, in a relationship that will say. It seems that he only ended at the so called friend-zone.

”Aren’t you going to wish something?” Baekhyun asked as he peeked with one eye. Chanyeol shook his head and closed his eyes. ”Why not? Do you think it’s childish perhaps?”

Chanyeol looked up again at the twinkling stars. ”No. I don’t think I need to wish for anything when I already got everything in my life that I need.”

Right. Chanyeol does indeed have everything. He is rich, has a big house, is a global artist, can get whoever he wants with that white smile he got and can even befriend anyone he meets. And he’s tall…. Baekhyun sulked to himself. He’s jealous of him.

There was a silence having just them looking up thinking of anything that crossed their minds. Suddenly Chanyeol heaved out a sigh and Baekhyun looked at him.

”Sorry to bring up work right now but..since Exo won’t be promoting that much I’m coming back earlier. Which means you are going to start working with me again. If that’s okay.” He quickly added the last part.

Baekhyun stayed quiet but he answered eventually. ”I appreciate it, really.”

It had been a wonderful night spending it with Chanyeol as they had talked about their lives and well, mostly work from Chanyeol’s side. But even so it was nice and they somehow got to know each other even more. For example Baekhyun didn’t know that Chanyeol was allergic to tomatoes which was so weird and strange to Baekhyun that he couldn’t believe it. But noticing a tiny common thing Baekhyun happily told the other that he found cucumber dreadful and nasty — so nasty that he could even gag when smelling the vegetable. Baekhyun had even named his problem with cucumbers for ’allergic’ to which his parents only rolled their eyes to because they thought their son was childish.

Two hours later Chanyeol drove Baekhyun back home and they said goodbye, of course Baekhyun couldn’t forget to thank Chanyeol one more time wishing him sweet dreams. He knew he will sleep well right now for he had the best day ever.

So as unusual for him he answered with a cheerful tone when his phone rang but the voice on the other line was far different from his:

”Is this Byun Baekhyun?!”

The said boy widened his eyes in surprise. He didn’t know who the caller was so he mumbled a yes.

”You have not been doing your work properly! In fact you have only been working one time and that was your first day! If you are taking this job seriously then I want you to get your here tomorrow.” The line went off.

Baekhyun shivered. ”I’m dead!” He cried out.
