Goodbye, Good Morning
In Search of MeaningA/N: Y'all are going to hate me for this... *opens door to bomb shelter*
Sunlight streamed into the bedroom through the window, illuminating the sleeping face of Cha Hakyeon. Slowly, the veterinarian scrunched up his nose, and squeezed his closed eyes tighter as the light leaked through his eyelids. Blinking sleepily, he trapped a groan in his throat as he stretched a single arm over his head. He would have stretched his left arm, too; if it wasn't for the warm body clinging onto it.
Wait a second, Hakyeon thought as he opened his eyes wider, and lifted his head to look at what was weighing down on the left side of his body.
The first thing he noticed was the black head of hair with a pair of grey wolf ears sticking out resting on his shoulder. His gaze trailed down to the arms wrapped around his left one, and the leg thrown over both of his own. Finally, at the end of the bed he saw a fuzzy wolf tail curling around his left calf.
When he saw Leo's ears twitch in his sleep, the only thing Hakyeon could think was, Cuuuuute. Then, Leo shifted his head off of his shoulder, and nuzzled his nose into the sleeve of his sweatshirt. CUUUUUUUTE!
Hakyeon couldn't stop the smile from stretching across his face. However, as much as he wanted to stay there to watch the wolf man sleep, there was a pressure in his groin calling out to the bathroom. Reluctantly, Hakyeon gently ruffled Leo's hair.
"Leo?" the vet called in a whisper. "Leo, get up. I need to use the bathroom."
Leo let out a soft canine whine. Half-asleep, he raised his head to give three quick kitten to the skin underneath Hakyeon's chin, before plopping back down on his shoulder. Hakyeon raised his eyebrows at Leo's odd action, but quickly narrowed into crescent eye-smiles as he chuckled. He still wasn't quite used to the canine behavior that seemed to surface at random times, but he wasn't going to complain.
He ruffled Leo's hair a little rougher than the first time, "Come on, Leo. Wake up."
With a groan, Leo finally opened his eyes. The sunlight made him squint as he looked up at Hakyeon, and mumbled, "Five more minutes?"
"Nope," Hakyeon grunted as he tried to sit up with Leo still latched onto him, only to fall back onto the mattress. "You're already awake, so there's no point in trying to sleep for an extra five minutes. Now, get off of me."
The wolf man shook his head, and tightened his grip on Hakyeon. This forced the vet to take drastic measures.
"If you don't get up, I won't make any bacon for breakfast," Hakyeon threatened.
Leo immediately snapped up to a sitting position at the edge of the queen-sized bed, with his hair disheveled, eyes closed, and ears droopy with sleep. The oversized long-sleeved shirt he wore as a pajama top had a wide collar that was stretching to his right shoulder, exposing his collarbones to the world. Scratching his neck, Leo yawned before he his lips drowsily as he thought about bacon strips.
"Cute~" Hakyeon cooed, causing Leo to peak one eye open at him.
"I'm not cute," the wolf man grumbled before slowly climbing off the bed.
Hakyeon followed suit, "Yes, you are. Sometimes, I think your aegyo is stronger than Jaehwan's and Hyuk's combined."
Leo groaned in annoyance as they exited the bedroom, and together they walked down the hall to the stairs. While they descended the steps, they continued to bicker about the wolf man's adorableness. By the time they reached the bottom, Hakyeon had won.
"I'm making some cereal," Leo told the vet as he started walking to the kitchen. "Do you want any?"
"Sure," Hakyeon replied over his shoulder as he strolled to the bathroom. "Thanks, Leo."
Just as he was about to shut the bathroom door, a loud Thud! resounded from the living room followed by a pained groan. Hakyeon took a step back over the threshold of the rest room, and saw Woohyun laying on top of a squirming Hongbin. The assistant mechanic had fallen off of the couch, and landed directly on the slumbering cyborg. Ironically, Woohyun was still asleep, while Hongbin struggled to get the smaller man back up onto the couch.
"Good morning, Hongbin," Hakyeon said with a grin.
Hongbin looked up from his position on the floor, arms extended upward to hold Woohyun above him, "'Morning, hyung."

Fifteen minutes later, Hakyeon was sitting at the kitchen island enjoying a bowl of Fruit Loops, with Leo sitting next to him doing the same. Hongbin was eating his breakfast out in the living room with Woohyun, complaining to the other about the manner he was woken up in. Hyuk shuffled into the kitchen, and sat down at the end of the island next to Hakyeon.
"Good morning, hyungs," Hyuk mumbled tiredly.
"Morning, Hyukkie," Hakyeon replied, while Leo only gave a curt nod in response.
"So, did you and Leo have yet?" Hyuk asked bluntly, causing Hakyeon to sputter and choke on his cereal in a coughing fit.
Patting his chest, Hakyeon looked at Hyuk questioningly, "No. Why would you ask me that?"
"Because I'm tired of seeing you guys beating around the bush," Hyuk answered, only to fire another question. "How far did you two get, then?"
"We've only kissed," Leo answered, to Hakyeon's surprise.
"Really?" Hyuk tilted his head curiously, and Hakyeon nodded as he took a sip of his water. "Huh, Hongbin and I went further than you, then."
For the second time that day, the vet sputtered, spraying water all over his cereal and the table surface surrounding it. Leo patted Hakyeon's back as he continued to eat his cereal unfazed by the plain-spoken maknae.
Once he regained his composure, Hakyeon looked at Hyuk sternly, "What do you mean you and Hongbin went further?"
Hyuk's cheek flared a bright red, and he cast his gaze down as he replied, "U-um, I'd rather not explain."
Hakyeon huffed indignantly, "Oh, so you only get embarrassed when you're talking about your own life?"
"Hyuk has a life?" Jonghyun asked as he stumbled into the kitchen, scratching the back of his head. "Since when?"
"Since last night," Key joined in, appearing from behind the mechanic with a spring in his step. He sat down across from Hakyeon, and carried on to explain, "I heard them getting it on in the bathroom sometime last night. Cheetah ears."
"Woohyun didn't need cheetah ears to hear us, though," Hyuk added. "He was a little mad."
