Chapter Twenty - Six

Destiny or Fate

Chapter Twenty – Six

Bom was annoyed from the sun shining on her face.  She rubs her eyes and saw that Jiyong was still sleeping with his back facing her.  She got up and lazily made her way to the showers to get ready for the day.  When she finally got out, Jiyong was still sleeping.  “Yah!  Jiyong, it time for you to get up, so we can get going!”  She shouted, but Jiyong did not budge.  Bom made an infuriate face, thinking he paid no attention towards her.  “Yah! I said it is time to get up!” But Jiyong still didn’t pay any attention to her.

Bom moved closer towards the man, as she got closer, she notices his face was pale.  She places the back of her hand against his forehead.  “He’s sick.” She removed her hand.  Bom looked around the room and then placed more layers of blankets on top of him, as she saw that he was shivering.

Bom ran to the living room where her bag was, she fished out her medicine box.  Afterwards she made her way to the nearby grocery store.  She ran back inside the house.  In the kitchen, she made rice soup and tea.

Bom peeked into the room, to only see that Jiyong was still sleeping.  “If he keeps sleeping like this, he’ll never get well.”  She said.  Bom walked over to the bathroom and got a wet towel and came back to wipe him with it.  After doing so, she walked to the kitchen to bring in the soup and tea along with the medicine.

“Kwon Jiyong, wake up.” She said tenderly as she tapped him on the shoulder.  There was no movement coming from him.  Bom tried to call him again a minute later and this made Jiyong stir a bit.  Jiyong woke up, seeing Bom stare at him.  He woke feeling cold and weak.  “You should try to eat something.” Bom said as she holds the tray of soup in front of him.

Placing it on the table next to the bed, Bom help Jiyong sat up from the bed.  He couldn’t take his eyes off of her.  This was the first time he saw Bom being so sincere towards him, despite what he had done to her.

Bom took a spoonful of the soup, blowing it and fed Jiyong, trying her best not to burn him with the hot soup.  She saw how is eyes stared at her and couldn’t help but to blush.  After feeding him, she handed him a glass of water along with her medicine.

Placing the empty bowl of soup and tea back on the tray, she stood up to return it back to the kitchen.  But before she could go anywhere, Jiyong grabbed one of her hand softly and placed it against his cheek.  They locked eyes until Bom pulled her hand away from him.  “You should try and get some more rest.”

He nodded, “Okay wife.” He stared into her eyes for a quick moment and lay back down on the bed.  Bom couldn’t help but shyly walk away.

While Jiyong slept, Bom stayed near the beach, enjoying the view of the ocean.  She sat there until sunset appears.  She headed home to take a shower and change her clothes.  Entering inside his room, Bom found Jiyong sleeping with his blanket covering the lower half of his body.  She stepped closer to him to pull it up and then took a seat on the chair nearby.  Observing his face, she touched him lightly to feel his temperature.  She felt relieve that his temperature had gone down.

The ocean breeze blew through the open window while Jiyong and Bom were still sleeping.  Jiyong woke up to find Bom’s hand against his chest.  His lips formed a smile as he picks up her hand and gently kissing it.  Bom stir, making Jiyong place it back down to his chest with his hand still holding hers.

Bom woke up, feeling the heartbeat of someone’s.  She opened up her eyes to find her hand on his chest.  Her cheeks turned to bright red as she tried to pull away to get up, but instead, Jiyong pulled her closer to him and wrapped his arms around her.  “Where are you going?” He asked.

Bom stuttered, “I-I-I need to use the bathroom.” She lied as she tried to remove herself from him.  “Why?”  He asked as he holds her in his arms.

“I need to wash up and cook.  Aren’t you hungry? Now let go of me.”

“No, I’m not hungry.  I just want to cuddle with you like this.” He demonstrates, holding her tighter than before.  “Come on Ji, you have to eat in order to get enough energy and feel better.”

Jiyong ignored her and kept holding on to her.  A few minutes later he finally let her loose and Bom got up and walked towards the kitchen.

Finally finishing cooking, Bom placed it on a try and brought it over to Jiyong, who was still lying in bed.  “Here” She sets it on the table.  “What?  You’re not going to feed me?” Jiyong ask, giving her a fake shocked look.

“I thought that you were feeling better since you sound like it earlier this morning.” She said as she was ready to walk out of the room.  Jiyong grasp a hold of her hand, “Well, I’m not.  So, can you please?”  He begged.  Bom didn’t know why but she was beginning to feel soft-hearted towards him.  She sat right back down and began to feed him, but she also started to complain.  “You are so complicated, you know that?  Open your mouth!”  Jiyong smiled at her, seeing how caring she was.  “Ahh…” He opens his mouth.

After his meal, Bom made her way back to the kitchen to clean up.  As soon as she was done, she made her way outside to the deck viewing the beach, for some fresh air.  ‘I wish I can be here every day.’ She thought.  As she was about to turn and head back inside, she was stopped by a hug from behind.  “Yah!  Aren’t you supposed to be in bed?”

Jiyong laid his head on her shoulder, “Yeah, but I just want to hug my wifey,” she whispered.  He then turns her around to face him.  He pulls out a small box and handed it to her.  Bom looked up at him and then down on the box.  “What is this?” She asked.

“Open it.” He replied.

“No, not until you tell my first.”

“Yah, you’re really something huh?  Always trying to make things so complicated, Okay, fine.”  He opened up the box.  Bom dazed at what she was seeing.  ‘It’s so beautiful.’ She thought, but instead she acted dumb towards him.  “Why are you showing me this?  You should show it to the person you are giving it to instead.”

Jiyong shook his head and laughed at her silliness.  “It’s yours, pabo.”

“For what?”  She said and turns around to face the beach.  Jiyong took out the diamond necklace.  “That’s because you’re mines, of course.”  He laughed.

“What are you doing?”  She said as she saw Jiyong was attempting to put it around her neck.  “Shh… Stay still.”  He said, trying as gently as possible to lock it around her neck.  After he finishes, Bom let oput a smile, but Jiyong did not see it.

Wrapping his arms around her waist and his chin against her shoulder, they both stared at the sun, setting over the ocean.
