"Flash report!"
What now? These stupid reports and news just keep on interrupting the shows.
"A poor young lady driving a car alone in the silent streets of _______ got hit by a truck in a bloody accident."
Wait....that looks like....
I quickly went out and shouted as loud as I could outside appa and omma's cottage. My hands were shaking as I did.
"Omma! Appa! Hurry!"
"What's the matter, dear?"
"_________'s in trouble!"
Omma and appa quickly called the police to ask the address of the hospital where they brought _______ while I was sulking in the corner.
If I didn't leave her, she would still be here now. If it wasn't for me, she wouldn't be sad. She would have never left that night and get involved in that accident.
"Son, don't blame yourself."
"I....It's my fault, appa. We fought and-"
"Everything happens for a reason, son."
"But she promised..."
"Come, we already know where she is."
We rode a cab on the way to the hospital. Bummer, there was traffic jam when I needed it. I leaned on the window and it started pouring.
I closed my eyes and cried as I let the images of her pretty face run through my mind. Her smile, her laugh, I can't live without it.
We entered the hospital and went straight to the emergency room. Wee can see ______ from the windows but we weren't allowed to come in. I punched the wall in disbelief.
"Henry-ah, she'll be alright."
"Omma, it's so hard."
After hours of waiting, they told us that they have moved _______ to another room. We quickly went to the room and we were greeted by the doctor.
"Are you the family of the patient?"
"Yes doc."
"I will have to tell you some information about the patient's current state but for now I'll let you spend some time alone with her."
Appa and omma talked to _______ shortly and left me to see the doctor. I was asked to look after her. I held her hand in mine and intertwined our fingers. I talked to her silently.
"I know you're in there, you promised me that you'll hold on. You promised you'll never leave me again." I let crystal droplets escape my eyes.
"I'm sorry for being a coward. I'm the guy between the both of us so I should've been brave. If I didn't leave you, you wouldn't be in this condition right now." I whispered.
"I'm sorry because I can't give you the dream wedding you always wanted. I would understand if you left me, but my world would fall apart and my life would be meaningless."
* beep beep beep beep *
"Doc, something's wrong!"
The doctor quickly rushed into the room and pushed me out. I tried to fight but the nurses helped to send me away.
"Stay strong, _______. Hang in there."
