Trapped Like Rats
Black Hole Sun (On Hiatus)
I apologize in advance to those who hate in when perspectives are quickly changed throughout a story; I do that a bit in this chapter. Just wanted to experiment :P

The world was a mute disaster of dust and rattling explosions. The ground bucked against Sanghee’s feet as her head swung left and right, trying to figure out what was going on. Dirt stung her cheeks and momentarily blinded her as it fell into her eyes. With two her primary senses out, full panic mode was brought about. Breathing heavily, she stumbled further into the alley, away from the fiercer vibrations while trying furiously to wipe the earth from her eyes.

“Hoya, get everyone out of here, Yunho and I will hold them off!” Moving constantly, Max shoved the Infinite’s shoulder to quicken him before disappearing around the corner again. Something rolled into Hoya’s foot as he turned to run; glancing down, he felt his heart stop.
“Oh, shi-GRENADE!” Kicking it away reflexively, the man jumped out for the nearest person, Sungjong, and covered him as the deafening explosion went off, searing heat flaring up against his back and raining dirt upon them. Thanking his lucky stars for his natural high resistant to burns, he rolled off his friend and looked around for the others.
Trying to operate around the ringing in his ears, he glanced around for Sanghee and Hyunseung. The Beast was nowhere to be found, but he could just make out the girl’s form in the alley, which calmed his nerves a bit. Scrambling to his feet, he pulled Sungjong up and dragged him away from the fighting into the crevice between the buildings.
“Sanghee!” Another explosion ripped the ground behind him, and his hearing disappeared again. The blast also temporarily cleared the air before blotching it up again; but it was enough time to see the armed stranger heading straight for Sanghee from further down the alley.
‘No!’ Dropping Sungjong’s hand, Hoya sent out a flare at the attacker, knocking him onto the ground. Grabbing the girl, he spun her around, ‘Are you okay? Are you hurt?’
She blinked at his chest a few times blankly, before looking up and squinting. started moving, but he couldn’t hear her voice. In fact, he couldn’t hear anything: not the detonations, the yelling, nothing.

He seemed confused, cocking his head to the side and leaning closer.
‘Those ing bombs messed with your hearing, huh?” She drying commented, feeling a bit of grim amusement that he was now temporarily in the same predicament she constantly had to deal with. ‘Come on, let’s go!’ Grabbing his hand, and gesturing for him to do the same with Sungjong’s, she began to run, only for Hoya to hold back.
Shaking his head, he pointed towards the direction they had come from. ‘I can’t leave them alone,’ he said, gently unfolding his fingers from hers. ‘I’ll be back. Take Sungjong to the car. Neither of you guys should be here.’
‘No! Hoya, you stupi-‘ He was gone, leaving her with a faint looking Sungjong. ‘Damn hero syndrome.’ She growled, before stumbling towards the direction they had come in. They had parked several streets away and walked the remaining distance to meet up with Hyunseung. Speaking of the Beast…she scanned the area around them, her scowl deepening when he was nowhere in sight.
‘Sungjong?’ Grabbing the boy, she shook him until his eyes refocused on her. ‘Sungjong, did you see Hyunseung? Where did he go?’
He shook his head fearfully, flinching when another explosion was set off from behind them.
‘Okay, well, we’re going to head back to the car and hope those airheads to get themselves killed; if we stay around, we’re just going to be live bait, okay? Sungjong?’
Blinking back tears, the boy shook his head, his head bowing slightly and making it a bit difficult to read his lips. ‘…leave them. I can heal! That’s my job! My Power! Let me stay!’ His head shot up, just in time to catch the light cuff Sanghee clipped him with. She once again began to drag him towards the cars.
‘Look, idiot, you can heal them when it settles down. You can’t fight worth crap, and you’ll just be slaughtered. How do you think Hoya will feel, huh?’ Suddenly, he dug his feet into the ground, resisting her grip, his face growing ashen.
‘Did you see that?’ He pointed into the mist uneasily. ‘I think I just saw someone.’
‘Sungjo-‘
‘Look ou-!’ He shouted, his mouth hanging open as he pulled her towards him.
Spinning in his grip, she came face to face with a small group of female Hunters. Four in all, they were each dressed in an odd, particular way, a mixture of army camouflage and neon colors. Bits and bangles hung from their hair, ears, neck and limbs, catching the weak light this way and that as they moved slowly closer. They each held a glowing weapon, a couple of bats, a pipe, and a length of thick chain that they dragged menacingly behind them.
‘Look what we have here,’ one snickered, her long blonde hair brushing the insides of her bare arms as she swung her own bat back and forth playfully. ‘A couple of rats running from their trap. How selfish, amirite?’
‘We worked so hard on that trap,’ the one with short hair and the pipe pouted, moving outwards to circle around them. ‘Least you could do is let us catch you.’
Gently nudging Sungjong further behind her, Sanghee bared her teeth at the approaching girls. What could they do? They couldn’t run away, as she could just make out the flashing lights of fire just down the street; the other battle was still raging and Hoya, Yunho and Max wouldn’t be able to hold them all off. They were blocked off on both sides by boarded up buildings, and they’re only escape route was being blocked by these Hunters.
‘Little birds, little birds, where are you going?’ The girl with the long black and white dreads clinging to her cap called out, wring her hands with her chains as they flared a deep purple.
The last one, with the doll like face and large lips, split them into a cruel smile as she softly sang, ‘Ladybird, ladybird, fly away home, your house is on fire, your children shall burn!’
Lashing out with her bat, the lead end sunk into Sanghee’s side, the golden flare brightening as it made contact with her. Suddenly as it appeared, it disappeared as the girl withdrew, snickering. Collapsing as she began coughing roughly, Sanghee screamed internally as a thick, throbbing pain began to emit from her lower torso. A sort of emptiness began to ring through her head, and some part of her tried to make a connection between her suddenly shaky connection with her Power and the glowing bat. The solid, comforting feeling of it somewhere in her mind had nearly vanished, leaving only exhausted, flickering remains. Fighting back tears, she growled at the Hunters, words undistinguishable from her pain. She felt Sungjong’s hand on her shoulder, clasping hard, before it began to glow. Before he could actually take away any of the pain though, he was retched painfully away, pulling Sanghee onto back on the ground before his grip had time to loosen. She watched in a daze as he struggled in the grip of the blonde one, the leader, fighting back as the pipe girl moved closer and aimed to make a mark against his leg.
Even though no noise met her damaged ears, she winced as the pipe slammed into Sungjong and his face grew ridged with his scream. A warm feeling suddenly began to blossom within her chest, rippling outwards throughout her body. The strange sensation seemed to return some temporary strength to her limbs, and without hesitation, she lunged for Sungjong, ignoring the surprised looks on the Hunters faces. They had to get out of here! They had to leave! She wouldn’t let Sungjong die on her! As her fingers wrapped themselves tightly around his upper arm, just above the grip of the leader’s, an image of Hoya fighting on the street with Yunho and Max flickered in her head.
And then suddenly everything was spinning.

A/N Surprise! I haven’t forgotten about the story!
I usually don’t upload chapters this small, but these past couple of weeks have been kinda hectic and busy with University and all that, so I’m just going to upload what I can, when I can. That way you guys don’t have to wait weeks on end for a super long chapter. Though I’m sure you’re all use to it by now ;_;
So! No Sunggyu/Myungsoo/Fran just yet! Muhahaha They come later~ Instead, have some Sanghee/Hoya/Sungjong bits. Also, Sanghee being 'special'. Oh yeah, and 2NE1 are totally Hunters. :I Just didn’t see anywhere to slip in their names. Plus, I don’t want to confuse you guys with all the different characters. If you can guess who is who, good job!
Thank you for reading!
Special thanks to all the commenters; I love reading your reactions and stuff and it sometimes gives me new ideas for the upcoming bits of the story (I have it planned out, but sometimes it’s nice to change it with someone else’s perspective)
Also, thanks to the general readers and subscribers! You guys are wonderful and what keep this story going (even if it’s incredibly slow)
