Stones rolled from beneath Dongwoo’s feet, knocking him into Hoya and Soojung. The pilot raised her eyebrow at him as he quickly scrambled to his feet with a red face, “You alright?”

“U-um, yeah, sorry.”

Mei quietly shushed them, motioning for them to continue on with her head. Hoya took the lead with Ji Ae and Sanghee following closely; Dongwoo, Tae Joong and Sungjong behind them, with Mei and Soojung bringing up the rear. They had found the building Sunggyu and the others had entered in, and had waited until night had fallen to enter. While the Infinites were fully prepared to let loose their Powers, the humans had armed themselves with guns that Soojung had brought along on her air craft. She had refused to give them any blades, stating bluntly that they’d probably cut themselves before they harmed any real target and they’d have better luck shooting the enemy if things escaladed to a fight.

The darkness was making it difficult for Hoya to see, and he had to squint even with the little light his fire provided. Mei turned down his proposal to allow him to let lose an inferno in case that alerted Sofia of their presence and scared her away.

The sound of claws clicking against the ground echoed in the distance, making Hoya flick his head in the direction of the noise. As he felt around for the wall of the building they were in, he edged forward again, still keeping one ear tipped towards the disturbance. When it didn’t come again, he turned around to help Sanghee over a particularly large piece of concrete with his free hand, keeping the other aloft to provide light for the others.

“How much further?” She murmured to him, her eyes flickering warily between his face and anything that moved around them. Their wobbly truce was still intact, and Hoya planned to keep it that way until things settled down.

He brought his hand a little closer to himself so she could see his lips better, “Not far. We’re almost there actually.”

She nodded confidently, and gripped the back of his shirt tightly as he moved on; if something happened, he would know where she is and would be able to warn her of danger. He finally stopped right before the end of the hallway, facing a room covered in an inky black darkness. “It stops here,” the Fire Infinite breathed out, glancing down at the tracker and then at Ji Ae, Dongwoo and Mei, who had all moved closer.

“They may not still be in there.” Ji Ae noted, folding her arms across her chest.

“Nonetheless, we should still prepare for them being there. Worst case scenario she’s in there and we’re ready for a fight if she feels threatened, best would be she isn’t and we’re overly prepared. Alright, we charge in at the count of three, okay?” Mei muttered. Dongwoo passed it on to the others, who nervously brought out their weapons.

Holding up a hand, Mei counted down to 1 with her fingers, before yelling.

“GO!”

They ran in, Hoya flicking out his hands as they spontaneously burst into flame, Dongwoo holding out his fists and pulling back as several roots burst from the soil. The sound of footsteps rapidly hitting the ground sent the pair aiming their Powers in that direction, only to pull back just as quickly as Soojung herself appeared.

“Wh-what, Soojung, we could have h-“

She jumped into the air before dropping kicking Dongwoo to the ground. He skidded backwards several feet, and before Hoya even registered what he was doing, he snapped one of his wrists in her direction, sending a fiery whip towards her. The girl fell on her back and rolled out of the way, dodging the blast, before hopping to her feet above the groaning Nature Infinite. Pulling out her gun, she pointed it at the man.

“Drop your weapons, and I won’t shoot him.” Hoya recoiled with a snarl at the voice; it sounded strange, and was definitely different from Soojung’s.

“Who the are you?!” He snapped, letting the flames a little higher along his arms. “And why the should we listen to you?”

A shot shattered the air, and Dongwoo stared up in fear as a smoking hole appeared next to his head. “If you care about your friend, you’ll listen,” Not-Soojung replied nastily.

“Why you piece of sh-“

Sanghee suddenly let out a surprised yelp and Sungjong shrieked in terror. Whipping around, Hoya’s eyes widened as he watched everyone’s guns began to bend and fold themselves around their wielders’ wrists. The deaf girl was several feet away and he only just managed to catch her as her legs gave out as she crumbled. Panting, she shuddered against him, “H-hoya, it hurts-it ing hurts, my-my wrists-“

Clenching his jaw he watched the metal tightened against her skin and an angry red welt started to form. He looked around him at the shadows, fighting the urge to allow his Power to fully flare out. “Let them go!” He yelled, glaring and feeling helpless. “Let them go, damnit!” Mei was on her knees some distance away, her eyes watering against the pain while she snarled out various curses in different languages.

A man appeared at the edge of the shadow, looking down condescendingly at the Infinite, as Not-Soojung moved to stand next to him. “You can all walk out of here with your lives if you leave Scorpion alone,” He spat.

Not-Soojung smiled angelically as she added, “If you come back, I’ll force you to all shoot each other in the head. Got it? Lady Scorpion is not your concern.”

“We just want to talk to her! We aren’t going to hurt her! Please! We need her help!” Dongwoo shouted, gaining looks of surprise from the stranger and Not-Soojung.

“I thought you knocked the air out of him,” the man said conversationally.

The girl shrugged, “I did; in fact, I probably broke a few ribs. But he seems to have spunk. Should I kill him?”

“One warning kill should scare them off. Do it.”

With another plastic smile, the girl pointed her gun at the Infinite as he clutched his chest on the floor.

“What do you think you’re doing?” A voice rang out. A young woman stepped into view, one dainty chestnut eyebrow raised. Pale skin and a small build made her appear almost British, but her accent sounded American. The only hint of her annoyance was betrayed in her narrowed pink eyes.

Not-Soojung pulled away, looking guilty, fiddling with the weapon in her hands like a child. “Um, no-nothin-“

“-WE,” The man gave his partner a dirty look, “were looking out for you. This group of Infinites were going to come find you, and do God knows what. We’re just protecting you.”

“Did I ask for your protection?” The girl growled, hardly making a noise as she approached them. “I already knew about them coming.”

“Wha-“

The man tried to protest, but the girl continued on as if he hadn’t spoken.

“They’ve come to me like so many of the other Infinites have tried. And for the same reason too.

I digress. Firstly, I can totally handle them if they actually meant to hurt me, which they don’t, and secondly, stop acting like my Goddamn mother, Yunho. I’ve been at this much longer then you have, I think I can deal with two overly confident male newbies and a bunch of humans.” She looked over at Soojung with a frown. “Max, release the girl or I swear I’ll make you regret it.” Soojung flinched before nodding hurriedly. A moment later the girl crumbled at Yunho’s feet, which made no move to catch her. Dongwoo slowly crawled over to the unconscious girl, clutching his chest and wincing in pain as he squirmed along.

Yunho scowled at the much smaller girl, folding his arms across his chest. “We were just trying to help. What if one of them had a Power like that one Hunter, Soohyun?”

Hoya frowned in confusion. Soohyun was a Hunter. Why would he of a Power? That’s an Infinite trait.

“They don’t,” The girl rolled her pretty eyes, and mimicked the boy’s motion by folding her own arms over her chest. “While you and Changmin were playing ‘professional stalkers’ and following them around for the past half a day, I was getting information about them. Him,” She flicked one finger towards Hoya lazily, who growled in reply. She ignored him, “He’s a Fire Infinite. He’s built quite a reputation among the stray Infinites from before he joined Tablo’s little assemble. Short-tempered, quick to judge, very loyal; he may have many characteristics but he has one fatal flaw. And him,” She looked pointedly at Dongwoo, who had pulled Soojung into his lap and was holding her protectively as he watched Yunho warily. “Well, he’s a Nature Infinite. The few I’ve come across are generally very mild tempered and it takes a lot to piss them off. Again, he also has one fatal flaw.” Another man walked out of the shadows to stand beside Yunho. Tall and thin, with short hair that almost hung over one of his eyes, the man appeared very nervous as he shuffled his feet and refused to make eye contact with the woman before him.

“B-but, what are their flaws then? Why didn’t you tell us? We could have dealt with them and you wouldn’t have had to worry about it.” The newcomer stared at her with sorrow.

The girl ignored him, and rolled her beautiful eyes again, “They don’t have flaws you two could have exploited. The flaw they share is that they are both males. My Power is over males. But that doesn’t matter now,” She looked at Yunho. “You and Max should have backed off.”

“We were just trying to he-“

Hoya’s temper was mounting increasingly and he was finding it harder and harder to restrain himself. Unknowingly, his grip had been tightening, and it wasn’t until Sanghee let out a soft squeak of pain that he realised what he was doing. Looking down apologetically at the girl in his arms, his eyes were drawn to the metal that was still twisted around her wrists. That was the last straw for him.

“What the is your problem?” He glared at the arguing trio as he gently separated himself from Sanghee. “Is this just a game to you guys? Do you think we came here just to kill one of our own?! Seriously?!”

The newcomer tried to reply, looking annoyed, “Hey now, th-“

“Shut up.” Hoya snapped. “Okay? Just shut the up. I don’t know how long you people have been in this city, or how much the radiation had twisted your ing minds. But there is a war going on outside; you could even call it a massacre. Us, you, the S4S16s are being slaughtered.” He gestured at himself and them violently. “Humans are being killed, just for making eye contact with some of us. Countries are falling apart because of this ing mutant genetic , and families are butchering their own kin. We’re trying to do our part in stopping this so that at some point in the future we have family, friends and a country to go back to. What the are you three doing? Huh? Skulking about in a goddamn wasteland of a city, and attacking anyone who needs ing help?!” His chest was heaving, angry tears streaking down his cheeks. His fire had come to life in a thundering roar, melting the air around him. “You, Sofia or Scorpion or whatever the you’re called; you’re our only hope. I don’t know how much you ing dug up from our history, but Tablo is gone, okay? Tablo is ing gone. We don’t know where he is, but he’s probably dead.” He could see Mei recoiling in horror at the edge of the vision, like she had known that Tablo’s death had been a possibility, but she had not wanted to acknowledge it. “Tablo, you and Jiyong were suppose to be the only ones who knew the cure. Well, Tablo’s gone and Jiyong is bat crazy. We don’t have time to go looking for some hermit with the cure, we need to know now. Because with the way things are beginning to escalade, we won’t be here much longer.”

Sofia’s mouth was tightly shut in a thin line, her eyes narrowed.

Yunho looked between her and the inferno of an Infinite before he growled and stepped forward himself. “What the man. Don’t go putting pressure on her. Why are you wasting your time out here then, if we’re so stupid and cowardly, huh? Why-“

“Because you are our only hope, damnit!” Mei screamed, cutting in angrily. “Haven’t you heard a word he said?! Christ, I’m not even an Infinite and I’ve noticed; you guys are running out of time. Either you find a cure or you become weapons or experiments for the world to play with. The Hunter patrols are increasing, and becoming stricter; when was the last time you had two Hunter groups in the ing Dead City, huh?! Probably never since it gained that name! Big Bang is back and still as ing insane as ever, and AHA is getting bigger by the day. Hello, wakeup call! You guys are Infinites! Despite what you guys might say or think, you’re not invincible, and my guess is that it’s only a matter of time before Big Bang and U-K come after you guys. You can run, but for how long?” Despite his anger, Hoya couldn’t help but note with some dry, vicious humor that it was a too bad Mei was still being constrained. She probably would have decked Yunho by now if her hands were free.

Finally Scorpion spoke, her voice quiet; Hoya was forced to tone down his fire to hear her. “Yunho release them.” She made direct eye contact with the Fire Infinite as she continued to speak. “I’ve known for quite some time about the war. No one can avoid it. I’ve known about Tablo since you arrived in; the Resistance is in denial about the fact of his capture. But it was inevitable with the number of Infinites he housed and his past with the government. However,” The female Infinite actually appeared regretful and the look of pity she gave Hoya set goose bumps up his arms; this was not going to be good. “I...I don’t know about the cure. I know very little about it.”

“What?!” Dongwoo yelled, his eyes wide and his mouth open in shock. “The-there’s no way-“

Sungjong’s voice rose in protest, and Ji Ae joined as well. A sort of numbing calm settled over Hoya, as the background noises faded out, his sole focus on Sofia.

“I’m sorry. I know I’ve been around for a long time, and I know with my amount of spies and resources I should know something about it...but...I don’t.”

“B-but, there must be something you could tell us,” Sungjong piped up, healing his wrists as he spoke.

Sofia hesitated for a moment. “Its not much help, and you’ve probably already thought of it-“

“It’s better than nothing,” Mei barked, ignoring the annoyed looks she was getting from Yunho and Max.

“Well I recently heard that Beast’s Source had some information. He’s apparently coming to Singapore as well, though I don’t know why.” She seemed to miss the look Hoya sent Mei. “Originally I was going to force him out of here; there’s enough attention on Singapore, we don’t need more if he’s caught. But...if he has information on the cure and you are taking the initiative on finding it, then I’ll allow you to meet with him here. Max and Yunho will help you meet and make sure you’re safe during your meeting, but as soon as you’re done, you are on your own.”

Hoya’s Power slowly subsided until it was nothing but tepid air about him, the flames having faded away. Sofia and her cronies still pissed him off, and he didn’t like how she made it sound like she owned Singapore, but gaining two valuable Infinites to guard them against the Hunters was nothing to shake a stick at; their group of Infinites was spread far and thin and they were going to need any additional help they could get.

“Thank you Sofia,” He bit out as politely as he could. “We appreciate your offer.” A warm presence next to him proved Sanghee was alright now. Sungjong appeared at her side and began to heal her wrists silently.

Glancing around, he finally made a decision. “Sungjong and Sanghee. You guys are coming with me; we’re going to meet up with Hyu-Beast’s Source.” No need for Sofia to know about their connection just yet. “Mei and Dongwoo, you guys take Ji Ae, Soojung and Tae Joong and the jet to AHA. Woohyun’s tracker is still on, and stopped moving. He probably dropped it outside of the Headquarters.” Holding up the tracker he pointed at the blinking dot. “They’re in Korea, hence why you guys need the jet. Be quick, and try and fly as undetected as possible. We don’t need a random transport check and have you all found out to be Infinites. Figure out some way of getting the others out; if you make some sort of signal, they’ll probably initiate their own breakout, but they’re going to need to know you guys are there first. Don’t go looking for Tablo and don’t go picking fights with the Hunters-try and avoid them where you can. When you have them out, get back here; we should have met up with the Source by then.”

“What about Myungsoo and Francesca?” Tae Joong asked from where he stood next to Sungjong and Ji Ae.

“They’re on their own. They know how to contact us, but we can’t reach them. Unless we find out where Seungri lives, they’re going to have to get out themselves. They’re smart, they should figure something out. If there is one thing Tablo taught us, it was how to get out of a sticky situation.” He smirked, as Dongwoo, Mei and Sungjong nodded in agreement.

“Let’s go. We don’t have much time.”

Seungri’s property

1:49 AM

“Wait, what?!” Francesca moved back, her eyebrows shooting upwards. “I mean-No! You can’t just ask me to do that, are you crazy?!”

Daesung blinked, confusion written over his face, “What don’t you understand? Fran, we-the whole S4S16 population needs you to do this. If you don’t, G Dragon will just kill all of you, and we won’t be able to do anything-“

Waving her hands in front of her, the girl backed up even more, pushing herself up against the side of the couch. “Woah there, don’t go trying to make me feel guilty-it’s not that I don’t want to help, it’s just…” She stood up abruptly and began to pace while running a hand through her hair, “I have to do stuff…” She stopped and turned, staring off into the distance as she faced the older man seated on the sofa. “I…I have to help the Infinites…they need my help.” Her eyes flickered to Daesung and locked with his own. “Daesung, I’m putting our friendship on the line here, and all our trust with it.” She swallowed. “The Infinites sent me here with Myungsoo because they thought this was the safest place for me-“

Myngsoo sunddely appeared at her side, a frown marring his face. “Fran! What are you doi-“

She sighed, “Just trust me on this okay? He…he needs to know. He’s our only hope out of this, and I can’t lie to him anymore,” Turning back to face the Hunter, Francesca couldn’t help but notice the guarded look that had appeared in his eyes. Ignoring it and hoping for the best, she went on. “As I was saying, the Infinites sent me here on purpose. There was nothing else they could do without getting someone killed. But we can’t stay here anymore.”

“What do you want me to do about it?” Daesung replied, his tone warning her that she was treading on thin ice.

She held her head eye and kept their eye contact. “There’s no point in us staying here: I have no idea how to use my Power, and the only one who could help me would be Tablo and the Infinites; they know how to train it. If I stay here, we’re just going to be sitting ducks and we won’t learn anything to begin with. G Dragon will stay the same and you guys will just be stuck with 2 more mouths to feed and a whole lot of wishing for a miracle to happen. Unless GD attacks me again, and soon, things are just going to escalate.”

The room was quiet as Daesung seemed to be thinking about what she said. She had laid done everything to him; they were at his mercy. He could go tell the others in Big Bang what she had said, and end up getting Myungsoo and the others killed for their deceit. He could ignore them and just have Seungri put tighter security on them. Or he could just have them locked up at AHA and use them as bait for the others. So many things could go wrong with what she had just done, but it was the only way they could leave.

She felt a warm hand at her back, and glanced over to see Myungsoo giving her an assuring look. Whatever the case, at least her partner understood her judgment and have her back.

After what felt like hours, he finally spoke up, his voice soft against the silence.

“You’re going to need a better alibi.”

They blinked, startled and confused; out of all the responses they expected, that one was not on the list.

He looked up and sighed, letting the tension leave his shoulders, looking years older. “G Dragon isn’t stupid, and the others won’t be happy to hear your reason, no matter what. They will kill the others if they found out you escaped, and they won’t hesitate. You need time; I can give you that.”

“Da-daesung, I-i-“

He looked away, “Please don’t say anything. We have to do this now, before I regret my decision.” He got up and headed for the front door, as Myungsoo dashed to their rooms to grab their few belongings.

Following the Hunter, Francesca felt lost; she hated to force her childhood friend to do such a thing and put himself in danger. But it was either this or sitting on their hands while the rest of the world tries to kill the others.

A low thud, like a hit of a bass drum, thrummed once and a soft flash of green light brought her back to her senses. Daesung stepped away from the door, his hands softly smoking as he shook them.

“There, I cancelled Seungri’s boundaries. You two should be able to get past it now. One of you can drive, right?” He looked pointedly at Myungsoo as he appeared over Francesca’s shoulder.

“Yeah.”

He pulled out a set of keys from his pocket and gave them to the boy. “Take my car and head west-stay off the main roads when you can. Eventually you’ll hit Singapore City-when you reach it, you’re going to have to get rid of my car and find a new vehicle; my car has a tracking device installed within its frame, so it’ll only be a matter of time before they find you. Taeyang hyung, TOP hyung and G Dragon are heading for the AHA headquarters, which is located in Korea. I’ll delay Seungri for as long I can, but I don’t have a guarantee for how much time I can buy you. There’s no telling when the others will be contacted.” He turned away from them, looking torn, swallowing hard. “So go. Hurry.”

Myungsoo nodded before running out the door. He stopped when he realized Francesca wasn’t following. She waved him on as she gave a pointed look at Daesung’s form. Nodding, he continued on, heading for the car.

Turning, she reached out to touch Daesung’s shoulder, only for him to flinch away. “I told you to go,” he murmured, his eyes dead as they shifted to rest on her. “Go!” He snapped, pointing outside. “Before I change my mind!”

Without hesitation, she hugged him fiercely, letting her head rest against his chest. “Thank you.”

She felt him inhale and slowly wrap his arms around her to return the embrace, before gently pushing her away. “Go,” He repeated, much more gently this time. “I’ll do what I can. Stay hidden and stay safe.” He brushed his lips against her forehead in a fleeting goodbye kiss and then nudged her out the door. It closed with a snap behind her, and with a determined expression, she made her way over to the black vehicle.

Seungri’s property

2:00 AM

Leaning back against the door, Daesung let his eyes close wearily. Of all the things that he thought it would take to turn him against his friends, he definitely hadn’t though his friend’s daughter would do it. With a sigh he tried to recall the last time Big Bang had been together happily. He couldn’t even think of a time within the past few years.

Without opening his eyes he called out, “How long have you been there?”

Seungri stepped out from the shadows near the stairwell, his eyes shadowed by disappointment. “Long enough; Daesung, what have you done?”

The man glared at his friend for his words. “I’ve done what was the best for us. She couldn’t have stayed. She wasn’t trained or anything-“

“We could have trained her!” Seungri snapped, stepping closer. The sword wielder couldn’t fight the rising regret, anxiety and anger that bubbled from within, and it only increased tenfold when he noticed his friend had his guns attached to his sides; clearly a sign that if push came to shove, neither of them were going to back down. He fought the urge to make a grab for his katana, ‘Wings’, which lay on front door side table, within arm’s reach. “We could have fixed this-now she’s lost and we’re going to have to kill the others; you know G Dragon won’t let this go!”

“Why don’t you understand?!” He growled, pushing away from the door. “BoA has taken SO-1 from us, and now she’s take Jiyong again. And we’re about to lose Francesca again; G Dragon is going to tell BoA and then they’re going to kill her, whether or not you or me, or any of the others try and stop them. Her only chance of survival is with the other S4S16s!”

At the mention of SO-1, VI visibly bristled, his hands automatically gripping his guns. “Her only chance of survival was with us! At least we could have fought off BoA and G Dragon together-now she’s on the loose with a bunch of young, inexperienced S4S16s, and within reach of AHA. And now we have no chance of controlling DG Dragon whatsoever, and your head is going to be on a platter.” He reached for his back pocket, grabbing for his phone. “I’m going to have to call this in if you have any chance of redemption.” As he brought his phone out, it fell into pieces through his fingers. Clenching his fist, he growled at the other man, who now stood on the other side of the room with ‘Wings’ in his grip. “That was my favorite phone, you . And really,” He pulled out his scarlet gun smoothly. “No offense to Francesca, but if I had to choose between saving her, or saving you-” He shot, aiming to immobilize Daesung, who dodged quickly to the side and forward, towards him. “-I’d chose you over her any day. Even if that means-“ He pulled out his other weapon, pitch black in color, and brought the pair up just in time to prevent a shoulder slice from the sword fighter. “-Even if that means I have to hurt you to save you,” He gritted out lowly, bringing his face closer to his friend’s over their grabbling weapons.

Daesung jumped back to avoid Seungri lashing out at him with his firearm, snapping back grimly as he moved in for another attack, “Not if I bring you down first.”

Unknown, South Korea

4:07 AM

“You know, I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to listing the reasons as to why this is such a bad idea.” Tae Joong said lightly.

“Then don’t say anything,” Soojung gritted out, before the jet landed with a thump that shook the whole cabin.

Mei appeared in the cockpit, one eyebrow raised. “When you said you could give us a ‘silent landing’, I didn’t know that was expression for ‘alert the whole of Korea’.”

“Oh shutup. Everyone’s a critic nowadays.” Unbuckling herself, the pilot got up and moved to exit the plane. “Besides, you try and fly with this chatterbox annoying you the entire time,” She gestured over her shoulder at Tae Joong who just innocently shrugged.

Rolling her eyes, Mei followed the pair off the jet, where Ji Ae waited impatiently. They had decided to attempt to break in to get the others; they’re chances were very, very slim, as they were at the AHA headquarters, but they had to try.

“Look, we have to hurry before they notice we’re here. Dongwoo can only create a distraction for so long.” As if on cue, an alarm went off, several lights shining towards the far side of the compound. Yells and screams could be heard as the wall collapsed in the distance.

After a moment of everyone silently admiring the Infinite’s work, Soojung let out a low whistle. “That Power thing can sure be handy sometimes.”

With a snort, Ji Ae lead them for the nearest wall, wear an air duct sat high above. “Let’s just hope this works again,” She muttered, before turning to Tae Joong, “Boost?”

March 31, 2264

AHA Headquarters, South Korea

4:12 AM

As an alarm echoed in the distance, multiple sirens following. Woohyun opened one eye tiredly, and let out a sigh, “That was fast.”

In the cell across from him, Sungyeol sat up, ignoring his aching limbs. “Seriously? I would have thought they’d wait longer.”

“Personally, I’m think it’s about damn time they showed up. I feel like I’m going to die,” Jinri called out from her cell next to Woohyun. “All those stupid tests those stupid scientists put us through…”

“Yah big whiner,” The shapeshifter muttered before getting up, chuckling as he heard her annoyed ‘hey!’.

“You sure this’ll work?” Sungyeol asked nervously as he stared at the girl through his bars, “You’ve never done this before. Plus,” he looked over at Woohyun, “They may have cancelled the key by now.”

“We won’t know till we try,” the other boy retorted, before heading over to his toilet.

Wrinkling her nose at the heaving noises, Jinri scowled at Sungyeol. “Did he have to swallow the key?”

He shrugged back. “Well it was the only way we could hide it-why chance hiding it in his cell if they could just search for it while we were away.”

She looked around the hallway nervously. “What about Sunggyu?”

Sungyeol winced and didn’t reply.

The cells at AHA were much more different than the ones at the other Institute. While the other one needed just a code, their cells required both a physical key and a code card key. Sungyeol had managed to steal a key from one of the scientists during their test, when he teleported so fast they didn’t see him appear and then disappear behind them. He had slid it to Woohyun during one of their breaks, who proceeded to swallow the small one by two inch key, changing his throat to fit around it. Before they headed back to their anti-Power cells, he enlarged his throat and stomach so he could have access to the key when they needed it. Jinri’s part was more tricky-she had made a key of soft ice, which bent to match the shape of its confinement.

As Woohyun gave her the freshly washed code key, she slid it into the slot and then moved to shove in the soft ice. As it shifted to fit the proper size of the key slots, she shot out her Power and hardened the ice. The resulting penalty shock for using her Power shook her to the core, burning her from what felt like the inside out. Fighting the urge to scream as her nerves began to spazz, she forced her hand to turn the ice key, clicking against the lock.

The door swung open, landing Jinri onto the floor, her body twitching.

“Jin…Jinri?” Woohyun called softly. When he got no answer, he pressed up against the cell bars, staring with horror at her back from where she lay on the floor. “JINRI!” He hated the idea of her purposely shocking herself to begin with, but they didn’t have any other choice in case of short notice like now.

“JINR-“

“Shu-shutup!” She snapped back, weakly turning over and glaring at him. “Just…just give me a minute, will yah?”

Sungyeol looked over at the door nervously, “As long as it doesn’t take too long; the guards will have noticed the disturbance and will be coming to check in…”

Woohyun glowered at him, hating that he was right, but didn’t say anything to rush the injured girl.

Swallowing her cries of pain that threatened to surface, the Infinite slowly got up, using the wall as a support. Pulling out the keys, she moved to Woohyun’s cell and inserting them. Her strength let out just as his door clicked open, and if his reflexes had been a second slower, she would have hit the ground.

“Drop me, and I’ll cut off your arm, you weirdo,” She muttered through her teeth.

Scooping her up in one arm with a snicker, Woohyun pulled out the keys and gave one to Sungyeol as they worked to open the Teleporter’s door. As the last Infinite stepped out, they both let out sighs of breath.

“God, Houdini ain’t got nothing on us,” Sungyeol muttered.

“Wa-wait,” JInri pulled away from Sungyeol’s hand as he prepared to teleport. “What about Sunggyu?”

Sungyeol swallowed and Woohyun was forced to answer, “We can’t do anything for him. There is no way we can get down to the labs without being captured again, and he would just call us stupid for trying. We need to regroup and think of a way to get him out with the others.”

Grumbling, the girl settled down enough for Sungyeol to grip her arm lightly and grab Woohyun’s shoulder. With a crack, they disappeared.

“Has the rogue S4S16 been dealt with?” BoA called over her shoulder, to where her Lead Hunter Leeteuk waited.

He bowed his head and replied monotonously, “Not yet, commander. He’s an earth type of sorts, one we have yet to come across, but we’re wearing him down, so it’s only a matter of time before he’s captured.”

The woman kept her gaze fixed out the window to the distance, were the destroyed wall was just visible with the alarm lights illuminating it. “If there is no progress, why are you even here? Get out of here.” She snapped, annoyed at the unnecessary intrusion.

The man hesitated, before looking up uneasily. “Actually, I came here with news of other sorts.”

“Oh?” She turned and crossed her arms, staring down her nose at him. “And what would that be.”

“#2’s VI has called in. It’s…it’s about the S4S16s Big Bang’s control.”

Growing annoyed at the man’s pausing, she strode forward grabbed his arm, bringing him closer. “What about those stupid bargaining chips?” She snarled at the nervous Hunter, who couldn’t seem to meet her eyes.

She may fake innocence with Big Bang about her information concerning Francesca, but she knew far more than they were aware of; years ago, G Dragon had approached her with the suspicion of Francesca’s importance to Jiyong, and showed proof of Jiyong’s study of the girl. He had been recently become GD and gone home at one point while Francesca hadn't been there. Apparently the human girl was actually a disgusting mutant, who could make people forget things, according to Jiyong’s files. BoA didn’t falter, demanding G Dragon bring her evidence of the girl’s S4S16 genes; they’d use the proof to take her from Big Bang, and prevent any chance of the girl messing with GD’s future. Unfortunately that ended up being the last conversation she held with G Dragon, before Big Bang disappeared for years. She wasn’t stupid, she knew it was most likely had been the result of Francesca and her Power.

When G Dragon had contacted her recently about the return of Big Bang, he mentioned how Francesca had become the bargaining chip for the rest of the Hunter’s to join AHA again. She had planned on assassinating the girl, as she was too dangerous to let live with her griphold over G Dragon.

“What. About. The girl.” She practically spat in her subordinates face. If something happened…

“Sh-she, um, Dae-Daesung freed her and the other boy. They’re go-gone.”

She screamed her frustration, shoving the Hunter away in anger. “What?! Daesung did what?! That traitor!”

“G-Gdragon also reported in and we informed him of the situation. He mentioned something about trackers on their cars…?”

Sudden BoA stopped, freezing in her tracks. A cruel smile began to spread across her face, and she turned to stare at Leeteuk, who almost visibly squirmed.

“Trackers? Oh, that’s riiiight, I had G-Dragon install them when he contacted me about renewing their contract, that sweetheart…this is actually perfect…”

She turned away again and began to pace silently, leaving Leeteuk to sweat. Eventually she broke the silence, grinning maniacally. Not many saw this side of the commander; only the leaders of the Hunter groups witnessed this insanity, when it would occasionally appear during the meetings.

“Bring the new Hunter-S4S16 boy in. Go on,” She waved him towards the door. Blinking in surprise, the Hunter turned to fetch the person she requested.

Returning momentarily, he lead the hooded boy by the wrist to BoA, before releasing him to stand in front of her.

Reaching out, she raised his head and peered under the Hunter’s hoodie at his face. Small eyes lit up with a sadistic light met hers fearlessly. Smiling viciously, BoA patted him on the cheek.

"He's perfect," she cooed. "How are his Powers?"

"The switch was done without a hitch. They're still in the testing phases with him, but he seems to be fine."

"It'll have to do," She gave the Hunter-S4S16 a once over. "Send him after the runaway S4S16s."

"B-but-"

"It'll be the perfect surprise," She continued on as if he hadn't said anything. "Besides, aren't we saving them a trip? They'll be looking for him anyways."

She looked out the window with a sneer as the S4S16-Hunter smirked at her words.

"Aren't we kind?"

A/N

Was originally going to be longer, but then I realised it had been freakin' forever since i had last updated, so I decided to split the chapter into 2 so you guys can have one update now and another later.

Hope you likey~

Comment Replies:

CrystalRainbow: HAHAHAHA You're reaction made that entire chapter worth it XD
Oh man, if Jiyong was there, he'd kick Daesung's booty. I thkn Seungri's got it covered though, haha
Hey, you gave me all those languages in your character description; I was simply listing them ^^
Sorry bud, the end is near :( But the remake will be longer and more detailed and have a loooot more interactions with the characters-I'm going to try and introduce your character earlier so you get more story-time too :P
Here was a little more of the others for you ^^ There shall be a lot mroe int he next couple of chapters; the group will together in one location soon :P
*smiles sweetly* You're welcome~
Noooo don't do that, you mean person D:
Oh, you mean how he interacts with Fran/you? Nah, he just has a little crush, and was enjoying the brief time you seemed to recipitate his feelings; he knows there was zero chance of you guys getting together. Big Bang would kill him to say the least, and if there was anything left of him by the time they were done, well, Sofia would make sure no one would ever hear of him again, haha
I had been talking to my friend and for some reason I mentioned penguins and he kept asking me to repeat what I had said. He also would not stop laughing -3-
Tis fine, I love giant comments; they're my favorite kind

Ice_girl: Feeling better?
Aw, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed them!
hohoho, you'll find out soon enough about Sunggyu~
Fran and Daesung are so fun to write-such a crack pairing within this fic, hahaha
Francesca/CrystalRainbow gave me a reeeaaaally interesting background for her, and I really wanted to put that in BHS at some point. Aaaand when I wrote Chapter 30, I found my chance! >:3
Myungsoo wasn't very happy D: But he it up~
Sorry for the late update-I hope you like this chapter!

Comment Replies End~

Thank you to all my readers for continuing to actually acknowledge this weird story. And thank you too all my new subscribers too-I'm glad you think this story is worth following! And most of all, thank you to the commentors; you're posts give me a lot of feedback and help me feel appreciated as a writer. I admit, I don't want to keep writing this story sometimes, as I've grow kinda irritated with it. You guys are the main motivation for me cutting the chapter in half so I can more evenly disrepute the chapters. Chapter 32 is now technically half way done, I just have to add some more scenes with Hoya/Sungjong/Sanghee, some Hunters, Beast, and *gasp* Sunggyu~

-WhosThere13

P.S. Everything in this chapter happens before dawn. LOL I IZ SO CLEVER. I have a horrible memory so I apologize if I've already named a previous chapter the same title >>"

P.S.S I'VE BEGUN THE REWRITE FOR THIS STORY. If anyone is interested in reading it, here's the link:

Eve of Destruction

And if anyone is not comfortable with me using their character again, please just message me and we can talk about it. I promise I'm reasonable ^^

Chapter 33: Short it may have been but it definitely was still entertaining. :D Ooo, I'm so curious to see where Sanghee's Power has developed in the end there, because I don't recall anything about it at all! XD So awesome.

On that note, I love how you identify Hoya's 'Hero Complex' because it is so true. Even when temporarily deaf (at the moment I'm guessing it's just temporary because of the explosions) he still finds time to run off and help with the battle, though you'd think he'd follow them to protect them just to make sure if they were ambushed.

2NE1 is quite intimidating and creepy in this chapter. Don't worry, I could tell who was who. And I wonder where Hyunseung went. I don't trust him. He's tagged again or something isn't he? And I liked Sungjong's stubborness on helping out in the battle. Small addition, but good for the character. :) And I've recently developed a slightly bigger liking for TVXQ, so am interested in seeing them more too. *gasp * And JYJ? O.O Scawy.

Looking forward to the next chapter. :D

Chapter 33: four in all….
2NE1. THIS HAS TO BE 2NE1! *spazzes like crazy* 2NE11111111111 <3 yah CL don't be so ____y -.- and whoa minzy with attitude! :D omg hahhaa *is having fun here* omg bom is creeping me out. majorly. but it's so cool to see 2NE1 in these bad girl positions >:D makes me like them more!

Hahahaha annyeong unnie! i missed you heaps :( but i know how you feel, my school is gettings seriously busy too *singapore education system*.... T^T but the story was awesome! i though the different points of view melded perfectly together and the scene itself is confusing to your splitting the different povs actually made it somewhat clearer in my opinion ^^ one person in such a scene would have been really confused... anyway i missed reading your stuff! i'm glad you haven't forgotten this though (or imma fly over and shove a laptop in your hands ;) and stare at you until you write SOMEthing xD)

hahahaha how have you been apart from school though? ^^v

Chapter 32: (cont...)

I didn't expect BoA to have the cure, but I should have. She's evil! T^T And for some reason I am suspicious of Hyunseung. And Sunggyu! T^T Ever since he released his solo album I've been paying more attention to this man. Hope he comes back to the light!

I really am, overall, looking forward to seeing where everything is going. Final confrontations, how it will all end, if anyone actually gets maimed or dies or something. I wonder when the others will learn about Sanghee (I don't recall the rest knowing) and I'm curious to see her use her powers more, if she will at all. But I'm also very excited for some more Taejoong and... someone... else. *shifty eyes* If you're going to do anything with him still. :3

Will be subbing for Eve of Destruction now too. I'll try to give some better review depth in the next chapter. ^^; Keep up the good work! Thank you! XD

Chapter 32: Heeellloooo! Long time, huh? :D To start off, I am still in love with this story. A few things are a bit confusing at the moment because I haven't read the earlier chapters in a while and so have forgotten some things, but when I read Eve of Destruction I think everything will make more sense. :D

But this version is almost done?! O.O Woo! I'm excited to see how you finish it all off! With the romances and everything, too. I like how you've been developing the relationships between these characters, to be honest. It's a steady and realistic pace, so I hope the romances, when it comes to the end, aren't hurriedly wrapped with a bow, if you know what I mean?

We've seen some Super Junior! XD Do you still have the link to the Suju-teaser I made for you? Could totally post that, even if they don't feature much at all.

:3 The scenes with Hoya and Sanghee, admittedly, made me grin. ;) And Taejoong! XD I love his interactions with Soojung and such on the jet. Hehehe. I have to remember who the other OC's are because it's been a while, but it's good to see everyone again. I loved the scene where Franny is trying to persuade Daesung - and then Seungri appears and it looks like they'regoingtobattle! T^T Poor Daesungie!

Chapter 22: Hi, new reader here! This story is awesoooooome!
I'm already soooo addicted to this and I have exams, not so good, but I don't care, this is too good :)
I'm still at chapter 22, but I'm getting there, hehe.
But I'm confused with something. Ji Ae is a human but then what's with the sounds she can make? And at first I thought Mei had powers too because she learned how to use those weapons so fast, haha, guess not.
It's actually weird that the girlls want to get rid of their powers, I mean I do understand them but I would feel awesome if I had powers, HAHA.
Aaaand I hope I will find out more about Sanghee's powers (and I also secretly hope they will all just keep their awesome powers and Sungyeol will regain his).
Great story, you gained yourself a new subbie ;) <3

Chapter 32: Oh hyell nawww you did Not just leave that cliffhanger at the end of the chapter DX
Myungsoo and the girl is going to be ...DDD= ...Have a very very bad experience...

Kyuhyun! omergeee yippie some more boys that I know XD Towards the end of the battle scene... I thought Max was still with Sofia? or was that supposed to be Sungmin? the beast... who called it? ohh~ more mysteryyy...

OMG I really want to see the battle with homin, sofia, the bits of infinite and hyungseung... 8D

so, none of the research team decided to relay info to people not of AHA association? Well, BoA must either be too good (aka they are like dead) or they are too scared (aka kept under lock and key)
btw I want to know... Does Sungyeol have to know where to go to get there or could he just think of something(one)? e.g. Could he just say want to teleport to the place beside Sunggyu or does he have to say want to teleport to a place like the building over there (or something)?

Also, about your a/n... Singapore IS a country (island country to be exact). A city-state but is still a country. It was occupied by the British but then declared independance from it together with Malaysia and then decided to become a republic (seperating from Malaysia) in 1965.

Chapter 31: The Switch? ohhhh got a clue in which how they brainwashed the s4s16s XD

...why did sofia suddenly wanted to help them? like just from their outbursts that it's been and still is a war (that the s4s16s are losing badly) and she's their last hope? haaaa~~~~ she's really mysterious huh?

Nice story :D
