Because of my Best Friend
Because Of My Best Friend
"You can't spell friend without an end."
Daiki opened his eyes slowly after feeling the warm beam of the spring sun on his eyelids. He poked his arms out from under the blankets and checked his head for his bed-hair and that was when he realized that Ayuki was sleeping right next to him, cuddled peacefully against him.
OH MOTHER OF PENGUINS.
Daiki widened his eyes and glanced at his chest. No shirt. And with his feet, he kicked the blankets gently and came to a conclusion that he was indeed in his purest form- or in other words, .
Once he reminisced the heated night that he had shared with Ayuki, he gasped silently and placed his two hands over his mouth.
Daiki adverted his gaze onto the sleeping girl and eventually calmed in awe. Ayuki had the most peaceful look on her drowsy face and a slight smile was seen evident.
The boy smiled and slowly hunched over to brush the strands of hair from her face before placing a kiss on her forehead.
Awaken from the sensation, Ayuki opened her eyes to be greeted by another pair filled with with love, happiness, and... Awkwardness?
"O-OHAYOU" Daiki greeted.
"Ohayou" Ayuki replied casually. However, once she figured out the situation, she exclaimed which didn't fail to nearly knock Daiki out of the bed.
"uhm, I.. Uh.. We..." Ayuki stammered
"...Yeah" Daiki completed.
The two laid there in complete silence, each brainstorming a sentence, a word, anything.
"so uhm, about last night..." Daiki began, "I don't regret it."
Hearing those words sent heat flying through Ayuki's cheeks. She felt her face turning complete red but forced herself to nodd and reply to him. "Me neither." She answered.
"Then uh, that's good." Daiki sighed in relief.
"AYUKI! DAIKI! WE'RE HOME!"
"GUYS. WHERE ARE OUR HUGS?"
Hearing those voices were the last sounds on earth they would want to hear at that moment. Surely, they missed their mothers and would give anything to see them... But DEFINITELY NOT at this time.
The two stared at each other in shock and glanced at the formal wear on the floor. Suddenly, the two read each other's minds and next thing they knew, clothes were suddenly flying back onto their bodies like magnets. Of course, they were facing different directions. The moment they shared together last night made things much more awkward than loving. Maybe it was because they were best friends too?
"They're probably still sleeping. Let's wake them up."
After hearing that voice again, the two quickly faced each other and helped each other with their formal wears. Daiki helped zip her dress while Ayuki helped fix his tie.
