I figured it was probably time for me to get back. I picked up my bag and slowly dragged myself home. I stopped in front of my house and sat on the bench. 'Everything will be okay.' I told myself. 'Smile.' I practiced my smile several times then groaned in fustration that I couldn't do it. I wanted to talk to someone. I wanted someone to listen to me. Someone other than my best friend. I pulled out my phone, and to my suprised was 13 missed calls from Daiki. I bit my lip and pretended to ignore them then scrolled down my contacts. No... I've always been hanging out with Daiki. I don't have any other friends...
Just then, I heard footsteps. The sound of it grew louder and louder until I was able to see the owner of those footsteps.
"Dai-chan...." I said slowly, getting up from the bench.
"Honestly! Stop running off like that!" Daiki yelled as he embraced me with a hug.
"d-d-doua?" I stuttered.
"Doua!? What do you mean doua!? It's almost 6pm. It's dark! Do you know what could've happened to you!?" He yelled at me.
"gomen" I said, backing off from him.
He eyed me. "Ayuki?"
I showed my best smile. "Let's go inside. I'm hungry!" I said, taking out my keys, opening the door.
I walked straight up the stairs into my room without looking back. I heard the front door close figuring it was Daiki coming in. I sat on the floor next to my bed and curled up in a ball. My fingers were numb. My feet too. Depsite the fact that it wasn't even december yet, i shivered thinking about the future cold days.
"Didn't you say you were hungry?" A voice said, interrupting me from my thoughts. I looked up to see Daiki leaning on the doorway, crossing his arms.
