I Never Knew Silence Can Be This Loud
Because Of My Best Friend"They say you never knew what you had until it's gone.
The thing is that you knew what you had.
You just never thought you'll loose it. "

"Okaeri Dai-chan" I yelled from the top of the stairs.
"Tadaima" He replied, laying down on the couch.
I walked down the stairs and toward him. "Douanou?" I asked
"iie. Betsuni. Nande?"
"Nothing really. You just seemed really tired."
"Souka. It's okay. No worries."
"Do you want anything to eat?"
"No, It's okay."
"Do you want anything to drink?"
"iie."
"If you're tired, then sleep, I can go bring you blankets. You're probably really cold wearing only a thin jack-"
"I SAID IT'S OKAY! JUST LEAVE!" Daiki yelled, cutting me off.
I stood there for a few seconds, staring at him, my bestfriend who had yelled at me for the first time. "gomen" I uttered before running back up the stairs. "What was that..." I said to myself, closing my bedroom door behind me.
I slumped onto my bed and curled up in a ball. For the first time... I had the feeling of being 'scared' of him.
I tilted my head up to balance the tears from falling out. "Dai-chan Doue?" I said to myself. Before I knew it, a tear streamed down my cheek, then another, and then another. Soon enough I found myself sobbing un-controllably.
This morning, we were getting along really well. What happened? Why did yell at me?
I heard a knock on my door and without hesitating, I immdiately turned off the room light, wiped my tears, and hopped back into bed, throwing the blanket covers over me. I figured out that he wouldn't see my ugly crying face if the lights were off.
"Ayuki, Can I come in?"
"no... I'm trying to sleep." I lied.
"That's such a lie.. I just saw your bedroom light on 1 second ago."
I stayed silent.
"Can I please come in?" Daiki asked again.
"why?"
"I need to say something."
"You can say it from behind the door."
"No. It's not the same."
I ignored him.
Without me saying yes, I heard the door creaked open, then the bright light poured over me. I covered my head with the blankets so he wouldn't see me.
"Gomen Ayuki.." He apologized.
"Just go away. Like what you told me to do." I sobbed from under the blankets.
"I didn't mean it. It's just...My voice spoke for itself."
"It's the first time you ever yelled at me Dai-chan.."
"I know. I'm sorry. I just had alot on my mind."
