Today was finally the day for all of us to film our pre-debut videos to showcase our skills to the world. For more than a month, I have been practicing hard to perfect every single performance of mine but I had to give it to the unnie because if it weren’t for them then I would already have quitted and wouldn’t be here right now. I was sitting in the makeup chair and looked at my reflection as our makeup artist did my makeup. I tried to take secret deep breaths to calm down my nerves but it seemed like everyone noticed my nervosity.

Makeup artist: You seem really nervous Jahoon. Don’t worry. I know you may not believe it that much hearing it from me compared to your members but I believe in you Jahoon. And I know everyone here also does. I believe that you will do a great job out there.

I looked at our makeup artist through the reflection in the mirror as she smiled at me and placed a hand on my shoulder to give an encouraging squeeze. I smiled and thanked her, feeling a little better about myself hearing that someone was believing in me. She finished the last touch on my makeup and I was available to watch Jiwon unnie while she was preparing to film her vocal video. Jiwon unnie noticed me as she smiled in my direction and waved back to me when I waved towards her. I made a fighting gesture encouraging her, making her smile even wider than before, and burst into her small cute giggles. A few seconds later, she began filming, and oh god, how heavenly her voice was. She really deserved the main vocal position. I could listen to her voice every day! I held my hands over my mouth during the whole performance while I was watching her. As soon as she was finished and I was allowed to make some noise, I cheered and clapped for her loudly, making her look at me as her face gradually grew red by the minute. Jiwon unnie walked over to me and slapped me lightly on my shoulder.

Liz: What are you doing? It is embarrassing~

Jahoon: One, how was that embarrassing? And two, how could I not cheer when you performed so perfectly like that?! The whole performance was so dreamy that I wish I could listen to your voice 24/7 if possible! In fact, I'm actually going to have your vocal performance on repeat every day and every hour of the day.

Liz: Stop~

Jiwon unnie slapped my shoulder once again and hugged me to hide her red face into the crook of my neck. This was only possible since we were the same height. I couldn't help but laugh at her and pat her back as a small comfort. She pulled away after a short while and watched her performance and re-do the scenes that were needed until perfect but to be honest unnie was doing such a good job that her part was over as soon as it already started. Afterward, she did her other performances as I was there the whole time to support her. It was like I have gotten a soft spot for her like she had become my favorite unnie but don't tell the other girls that I said that. After Jiwon unnie was done, it was Rei unnie's turn. I watched every one of her performances as well and was shocked by her effortlessly rapping skills. When it was Yujin unnie's turn, I couldn't help but gawk over her dancing skills… all of the girls were talented in their own way, and I…I didn't have anything that would make me stand out from the group.

Leeseo: Are you okay, Jahoon? You look worried. Is there something that unnie can help with?

Hyunseo unnie came out of nowhere and held my hand, giving it a little squeeze as she looked at me with many worries in her eyes and face. I took a last glance at Yujin unnie who was monitoring her performance before turning my face to look at Hyunseo unnie.

Jahoon: I don't know unnie. I kind of felt ready to show my skills earlier today but now after watching unnies performances, I feel like I’m not ready at all. In fact, I kind of feel like I’m falling behind everyone in skills.

Hyunseo unnie smiled and held my shoulders, making me turn to face her completely. She smiled a big smile before pulling me into a hug and stayed like that for a while and pulled back so she could see me again.

Hyunseo: I completely understand how you are feeling, Hoonie. I felt the same when I first joined the company and for a long time. I know how hard it is to shake the feeling off but I promise you that it will eventually. The other unnies also helped me with it. They always told me how good I am and how proud they were of me, helping me believe in myself and gain more confidence. You may be feeling discouraged because you think that your skills are lacking but believe in unnie, when I say that unnie believes in you and is extremely proud of you. I have watched all of your practice and seen how hard you have worked. I can say with all my heart, not as a friend and unnie but as a colleague, that you are an all-rounder. In fact, I’m a bit scared of how good you are! It makes me want to practice harder to better my skills!

Hyunseo unnie smiled widely at me and gave my shoulders a squeeze. I couldn’t help but smile a little with her. Hyunseo unnie had this happy virus feeling over her, making the people around her become happy with her. Her smile grew even bigger than before, making me look at her with a raised eyebrow and question her.

Leeseo: I managed to make you smile!

Jahoon: And that makes you happy?

Hyunseo unnie nodded enthusiastically. I sighed and shook my head at her, actually trying to hide the smile that was forming on my face again at how cute she was.

Leeseo: You don't know how hard it is to make you smile. It is so rare for it to happen, hence why it is an accomplishment for all of us when we manage to make you smile. It made us all happy to see our baby smile.
