Five months and two weeks later...

Yoona was hunched over her desk at the hotel-turned-office-turned-dorm double-checking paperworks and signing documents for Key to process. 

Her very straightforward assistant had of course followed her to Beijing after Jaehyuk left to train under YGX, YG's dance crew.  Key was still not around though, he had to stop by several offices to get some documents approved. He should be by soon with their dinner.

Two weeks left before Yoona goes home to Seoul. In the five months she stayed overseas, the PR manager had successfully spearheaded the restructure of LabelV's management, weeding out the bad people and doing damage control for the bad reputation SM's China label had gotten after a few mishaps. 

She's almost done. The next few days is all about getting every idol and staff on SM settled properly in the city for its SMTOWN concert stop. Thanks to everyone's hardwork, the two-day concert has been sold out immediately, the SM Chinese fans positively anticipating the concert. 

She heard the door opened but didn't look up. "Yangyang, I can't play Mario Kart with you for the third night in a row. I need to work too~" She assumed it was the WayV's maknae who had gotten into the habit of charming their Manager Yoong to join them when they play games.

"Tsk, tsk. I told you not to get close with them 00 line. They may have puppy eyes but they're mischievous as hell."

That wasn't Yangyang's sweet baby voice at all. Yoona's head snapped up at the voice and she squealed, jumping up from her seat.. 

"Hey baby, missed me?" The tall Chicago boy towered over her, his smirk so wide.

"Johnny, oh my god!" She ran to him and he caught her in his arms in a bear hug. With no fail, his broad chest still gave her the comfort it always gave. "W-what are you doing here?! You're not scheduled to arrive until the day after tomorrow!"

"Surprise! You look healthier, Yoong! You loving Beijing?"

Yoona chuckled. Everyone has commented about her fuller cheeks and she's actually proud she managed to gain weight despite working so hard. "What can I say? The hotpot here is incredible~"

"You look amazing." Johnny smiled genuinely and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "Some of us 127 came here early. Wanted to get some sightseeing done before the concert."

Yoona felt the familiar comfort of being with friends. Johnny's here. Probably her favorite boys, Jaehyun, Yuta and Taeyong too.

There was a period after she left when she and Johnny didn't speak to one another. She respected Johnny's need for space after her breaking his heart.  It took two months before the two connected again, staying true to their words that they would remain friends.

The boys of 127 would regularly contact her to catch up and the Dreamies would also be in contact with her (usually asking when WayV is available to play computer games). All is well with the Neos and that made Yoona's heart happy. 

"Haven't seen you for so long, Yoong! Let's do dinner and catch up?"

The PR manager hesitated. "I have tons of work to do."

"Oh come on, surely Key could take over? Please? Let's get dinner and then meet the others for a show."

"Just go, Yoona, please?!" Key was now at the door, with his perfect timing holding one set of dinner. Yoona glared at him. He knew they changed flights and didn't inform her. "You are missing out on a beautiful city by hiding here a lot. I will take care of everything from here."

"What show are we seeing?"

Johnny grinned mysteriously.  "It's a surprise."

"A four-star restaurant? Johnny-ah, you're spoiling me." Yoona did a little aegyo as they were sitted in a private room. They may be overseas but you never know when fans or paparazzi could show up.

He laughed and winked at her. "You deserve it. Order anything you want."

Oh make no mistake, Yoona plans to. Johnny can keep his mystery show to himself. She knows why he is being so generous. "If I didn't know better, I would think you're buttering me up."

He chokes on his water. Bingo. Yoona might have been in Beijing for the last 5 months but that doesn't mean she doesn't have eyes and ears back in Seoul. 

"Maybe I do have something to tell you..." The NCT member started, his hands shaking a little bit. "Just so you know, I didn't plan this to happen.."

Yoona faked a nervous look and straightened up. She crossed her arms above her chest and waited. Is it mean to make him sweat a bit? Should she be so mean? "Johnny, I swear to God, if you got someone pregnant--"

"Pregnant?! I would never! Why would you even--" Johnny took one look at her teasing, mischievous laugh and his jaw dropped Her joking attitude finally caught up with the Chicago native. "You knew."

Yoona took her wine glass and had a sip to hide her smirk. "She's my little sister, Johnny. The moment she was starting to have feelings for you, she called me crying."

She couldn't help but laugh at the memory. Wendy video chatted her in tears in the middle of the night, something about how something wrong felt so right.

Johnny raised his hands in defense."It was unexpected. I went to your office to get your Beijing address three months ago. I wanted to send you a gift, remember the Rae-O pillow we sent? I entered the room and she spilled coffee all over my shirt. She was the one who bumped into me, Yoong! AND she had the audacity to yell at me."

Yoona laughed out loud. Yes, that does sound like Wendy. "Ten did say you would meet your girl over coffee. Maybe he meant it literally."

"You're not mad?" Johnny asked cautiously. For him, it sounded douchey to date a girl and then date someone she considered as her sister. While they haven't acted on their feelings, Johnny and Wendy had gotten to know each other the past two months.

"I thought about it.." Yoona confessed. 

"I was so surprised! Last time I talked to Wendy, she was smiling and happy. I didn't know she was keeping a huge secret from me." Yoona relayed the story after Wendy and her hung up from their call. 

"Psssh." She heard a dismissive tone from the other line, so she couldn't help but sat up. "Surprised? Maybe you're jealous because you're not over Junny."

Yoona rolled her eyes. "Ya Kwon Choding. You're really going to be like this?" She scoffed. "Who's getting jealous now?"

"Pssshh." Yoona couldn't help but glare at the ceiling of her hotel room. "If you're not jealous, then just say so."

"First of all, you know Johnny's name so use it properly. Secondly, Johnny and I are just friends now, I'm not holding a candle for him."

There was a pause. "Then who are you holding a candle for now?"

She fought a smile. Jiyong clearly just wants her to say his name. Nope, she's not giving him that satisfaction. She then changed the subject. "Don't you have some afterparty you have to get to? Your Tokyo friends threw it for you, you should be there."

"Nah," He yawned, tired from another day of the tour. "I'm too worn out to go. Seungri'll take care of it."

Yoona frowned. Is she keeping him awake? "You should rest. You have a flight tomorrow."

"I am resting. I'm getting recharged just by talking to you."

She blushed. Another late night phone call with Jiyong, another smooth line to make her heart beat faster.

"Yoong? You spaced out on me there."

She shook her head, she's been day dreaming of him a lot of times these days. Yoona took Johnny's hand and placed her hand over his. "I'm happy for the both of you. When I thought about it, it made sense that you'd end up liking Wendy."

Wendy shares a lot of similarities with her unnie who she looks up to a lot. Yoona's adventurous side, her bubbly and charming personality was what appealed to Johnny the most. Wendy would have double that in her and less of the trauma and personal issues Yoona had. 

When Johnny still looked worried, she shrugged. "Geez Johnny, what do you want to hear from me? Go forth and date? I give my blessing wholeheartedly."

Johnny stared right into her eyes, seeing if there is any hesitation or if he could detect any lies. When he saw none, he looked relieved, finally able to lean back on his chair. "Thank you. One thing I learned from us is to not just sit back and let time pass by, I have to make the move as soon as I can. I'm not making the same mistake twice."

Yoona nodded. Johnny knew her first. But Jiyong had made such a mark on her before the NCT member made a move. Good for Johnny. "I appreciate you both considering my feelings. But I want you to be happy, okay? Make Wendy happy."

Johnny squeezed her hand. "And how about you? Are things finally--"

"I'm happy." Yoona said immediately, nodding to herself and actually feeling like she meant what she said. 

With the goal to love herself, Yoona had reached out to Dara and Dara had introduced her to a trusted colleague that she'd been meeting every week for the last six months. The therapy was helpful, as she was able to deal with her anxiety and bouts of depression. Is she totally cured? I'm afraid that's not how mental health works, but she is making progress, able to take a hold of her emotions better than before. She knows herself better than she did five months ago.

"You look happy." Johnny said genuinely. He may not have romantic feelings for Yoona anymore but he still cares for her as a friend and seeing her seemingly well-rested and healthy, he was proud of her.

He wanted to ask how things are going with her love life but understood her not wanting to talk about it. He lets her change the subject.

"How's everyone doing?" Yoona asked. 

Johnny went on to talk about everyone back in Seoul. How the Neos were, how he would sometimes hang out with Jaehyuk and his friends when they are all in Nocturne. That he would barely see Amber who is now busy with the opening of her second cafe. They spent the rest of dinner having a good time.

"Nope." Yoona turned back only to be blocked by Taeyong and Mark.  "Get out of my way guys, I'm not going in there."

"Oh come on, Yoong! We got us royalty tickets and we even bought our bangbongs!" Mark whined.

Yup, they were in front the concert stadium for G-Dragon's Beijing concert stop. She was staring at the huge concert poster infront of the stadium, G-Dragon glaring intently at the camera. Damn, even his photo would make her lose her mind. With everything that she has to take care of, Yoona had forgotten that tonight was Jiyong's concert here in China. 

She mentally cursed the YG superstar. And then she glared at the SM idols in front of her. "Traitors!"

Taeyong's boba eyes even got rounder. "What did we do?!"

"You're telling me Kwon Jiyong didn't plan this? And you all agreed?!" She noticed her voice was too loud because a few people on the street turned to look at them. She then whispered, "What happened to loyalty?!"

Jaehyun brought out the tickets and pointed out weakly. "But royalty tickets.. for free."

"Yoong.." Johnny took a step towards her.

"Don't Yoong me, Johnny Suh! You betrayed me!" Yoona accused. 

"We're just going to watch. Nothing is going to happen, I promise." Johnny explained calmly. "Ten and the rest of WayV are already waiting for us inside.Come on."

Yoona crossed her arms, still not trusting them. 

Five months ago, Kwon Jiyong called Yoona when she haven't even boarded the plane to Beijing. It was the first of many calls and messages the two shared in the last five months. 

If you asked Xiaojun and Hendery of WayV, they would tell you how Yoona would smile randomly at her phone in between meetings. Winwin would point out that Yoona could not be disturbed every Saturday night because that is when Yoona would watch a movie with Jiyong in a phone call with her.

In the last few weeks, Jiyong has been hinting a surprise for her. One that she adamantly refused every time. She didn't want a big gesture. She didn't want any noise that could alert nosy reporters of any involvement between the two of them. 

"Oh come on, you have to admit. It's romantic." Jiyong said as they discussed the latest movie they watched. "He chased her on the airport. She didn't board the airplane because she wanted to stay all along."

"It's not romantic. Maybe you're projecting? But you didn't even chase me through the airport. How could I stay?"

Jiyong chuckled. "That's not what I mean. I mean the big gesture of defying airport rules and racing against time just to tell her he loves her."

"If that is what a big gesture is to you, maybe I expected too much from the slick and smooth G-Dragon?" She teased, knowing it gets him riled up when she questions him.

He only scoffed. "Just wait and see, Im Yoona. You wouldn't expect what's coming."

But Kwon Jiyong is nothing but stubborn. Yoona is already suspicious this past week. She's no longer up to date with the YG superstar's tour schedule but he would update her where he is with airport selcas exclusive for her eyes only. This week, he didn't send her any photo nor contact her much. 

With arms still crossed, she stared down the four NCT 127 members who, if you think about it, looked silly with their disguises on and the crown lightsick on their hands.

"Do you promise? Nothing ridiculous would happen?"

They all held up their right hands. "We promise."

Mark added, "Sunbaenim only wants you to come see him perform. That's it."

She bit her lip. Jiyong had been saying that a lot. "It was a great show tonight. I wish you were here to see it." "Come see me play! Japan dome tours are always fun, you would enjoy it!"
