I woke up in sync with the alarm clock on my bedside table. My body have long since adapted to my rigid daily routine that I don’t actually need to set any alarm as my eyes would automatically open at exactly 5:30 in the morning. I would leave the bed, take a quick shower, brew a cup of coffee while cooking a light breakfast, dress up, drive away to the office and arrive at exactly 7:00 in the morning. Everything seemed mechanical. I often overhear my employees talking about me being a robot or whatever but of course I was too busy to care.

But today will be different.

After turning the alarm off, I tossed and my bed before lying on my back to stare at the ceiling. These past couple of days have been more stressful than meeting a stubborn investor. Honestly, dealing with Mr. Kim’s bratty son would have been easy. If only he didn’t turn out to be “the girl” that I’ve planned on marrying from decades ago.

I would be lying to myself if I say that I got over this matter as soon as I learned that I was just stupid for making a huge mistake in thinking that Hee—or apparently Heechul is actually a man with the same age as mine. I mean, no matter how hard I try to remember, he would still appear in my memories as that sweet pretty girl who wore cute frilly dresses and played with me on their garden.

Now, it felt like a grand hidden camera prank on me. Thinking that I was in love for more than two decades now with “a girl” that didn’t actually exist leaves me on a mental breakdown. But I didn’t have anyone to blam
