Journey Down Memory Lane.
Whimsical Chaos
Strolling along the empty corridors of the school and spying on the students sitting in the classrooms, Jiwwo spied on their expressions full of concentration. The alumni reminisced on the old days, lost in her thoughts. This would explain how she did not hear another pair of footsteps echo along the halls alongside her, thus catching her by surprise when she turned around and saw another presence next to her.
Her first instinct was to flail her arms in the direction of the new arrival, slapping the person away. However the other presence had faster reactions and easily caught her wrists, stopping her mid-motion.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.”
Jiwoo frowned, not understanding why the student was talking to her as though they knew each other. Seeing her confused expression, the student let go of her wrist and extended his hand out for a handshake.
“I’m the one that accidentally threw water on you. My name’s Hendery, a final year student.”
Recognition crossed through Jiwoo’s eyes and her expression relaxed. Glancing at his extended arm, Jiwoo opted to hit it with a high five rather than giving him the traditional handshake.
“Jiwoo, alumni.”
Hendery raised an eyebrow in surprise, looking down at his hand before his gaze returned to the girl who had twirled around and was leaving. Stuffing his hands into his pockets, Hendery’s curiosity towards the girl only deepened and thus he caught up with her in only a few steps and decided to follow her, ignoring the fact that he really needed to get to class.
“What are you holding?”
Jiwoo looked at the tupperware box in her hands before lifting her head to give Hendery an mischievous smile.
“Secret.”
“You can tell me,” the student insisted.
“But I’ve only just met you,” Jiwoo gasped playfully. “Have you not been taught to not trust strangers?”
“I think we would qualify as acquaintances at the very least.”
“I’ll think about that,” Jiwoo hummed as she came to a stop in front of the vending machine.
Inserting a few coins, she selected an iced tea.
