Brownies With a Side of Moomin.
Whimsical Chaos
Readjusting his tie while staring at himself in the mirror, Sehun smiled to himself in satisfaction before exiting his bedroom. Entering the kitchen, he found Heejin sitting by the kitchen island while munching on one of Jiwoo’s brownies that he had brought back the previous night.
“Morning.”
“Morning Sehun,” Heejin greeted the male. “Hope you don’t mind me eating one of these. I couldn’t resist, they looked so tempting.”
“They’re darn good aren’t they?” Sehun replied as he grabbed one himself. “They taste even better fresh out of the oven.”
“Is it from the neighbour?” Heejin asked while sipping on a glass of milk.
“How did you know?”
Heejin choked slightly on the milk and Sehun quickly passed her a tissue to wipe .
“I just assumed,” Heejin stuttered, not meeting his eyes. “If they were from a shop it would have been in a takeaway box or something.”
“Yeah the girl from flat 31 made them.”
As Sehun said that, his eyes drifted towards Heejin’s keys which lay next to her hand. He specifically focused on the Moomin keyring that was clearly the centrepiece.
“She’s a great baker.”
“Yeah, Jiwoo’s an amazing baker,” Sehun mumbled before returning his gaze towards Heejin. “Are you a fan of Moomin?”
Hands reaching towards her Moomin keyring, Heejin fiddled around with it before responding.
“Yeah, isn’t it adorable? I don’t get anyone who would dislike Moomin. There’s nothing to dislike.”
Sehun gave her a weary smile, recalling Jiwoo’s reaction upon seeing the Moomin plushy that had been left outside for Chanyeol. Stuffing the remainder of the brownie inside his mouth he quickly switched topic.
“Are you free for dinner some time this week?”
“I’ll have to check my schedule, why?”
There was a look of anticipation but also hesitation in Heejin’s eyes. Sehun simply attributed it towards the fact that she was still not fully comfortable around him since they were virtually strangers if not for the fact that they lived under the same roof.
“I thought it might be nice to introduce you to some of our neighbours. We hang out quite often so you’re bound to run into them more often than not. They are a rowdy bunch but quite friendly.”
“Oh,” Heejin exclaimed before coughing softly, her eyes darting around the flat and not meeting Sehun’s gaze. “You must really get along with them.”
“They’ve been very welcoming towards me. They’re looking forward to finally meeting you as well. So, what do you say?”
