Once You're In There's No Out.
Whimsical Chaos
The much anticipated Friday finally arrived. Since Sehun had a free period, he decided to roam around the school and explore the dance department. The school had fantastic set ups and the dance studios were spacious and equipped with great quality sound systems. Stopping in front of a dance studio where some students were currently rehearsing under the guidance of the teacher, a bittersweet and nostalgic smile found its way on Sehun’s face. Yet again, he unconsciously started massaging his right shoulder while his feet tapped along to the rhythm of the music.
“Are you hurt?”
A deep voice brought Sehun back to reality. Flinching at the sudden intrusion, Sehun whipped his body around and almost hit Kyungsoo’s face in the process.
“Holy—” Sehun exhaled, putting a hand over his chest. “Do you always appear out of nowhere like that?”
“Not really,” Kyungsoo answered in a serious manner. “But being next to Chanyeol does erase my presence rather easily so it looks like I appear out of nowhere.”
Sehun furrowed his brows together slightly, unsure whether the male was being serious or joking. It was rather hard to tell from his expression alone. Meanwhile, Kyungsoo’s eyes landed on Sehun’s shoulder.
“Do you need some medication for that?”
Following his gaze, Sehuns hand reached for his shoulder again.
“Oh no, it’s just a force of habit,” Sehun reassured the nurse. “An old injury.”
“Do you dance?” Kyungsoo continued his questioning.
“How did you know?” Sehun replied in surprise for he had not shared this piece of information with them yet.
“You were grooving to the music,” Kyungsoo answered calmly. “Your body seemed very in tune with the beat.”
“You’ve got a keen eye,” Sehun exhaled. “I danced up until high school.”
“Was the injury the reason why you ended up becoming a maths teacher?”
“Partially,” Sehun confessed as he glanced at his watch. “I should get going, have got to teach a class next. See you later.”
Giving Kyungsoo a small wave, Sehun parted ways with the nurse. Meanwhile, Kyungsoo made his way back towards the infirmary, a thoughtful expression on his face.

Gathering the papers that he needed to bring home, Sehun pushed the chair against his desk in the teacher’s office. He reached for his phone, wondering whether he should give Chanyeol a call in case he was still at the teacher’s office for the specialised department. Before he could make up his mind however, he was greeted with Chanyeol poking his head inside the office, waving his hand at him.
“I always forget how boring the teacher’s office for traditional subject is,” Chanyeol mused as his eyes darted around the place. “So lacking in creative inspiration.”
“I bet the specialised department one looks like your living room. Music sheets and instruments everywhere,” Sehun chuckled as they headed towards the parking lot.
“Not too far off actually. Drop by some time, but avoid coming when the art teacher is there. I think she is currently going through a midlife crisis. The number of cat sculptures she is making and leaving at the starr room is increasing at an alarming rate right now.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.” Looking around him, Sehun finally noticed a missing presence. “Where’s Kyungsoo?”
“He left early to get groceries, so you can enjoy the scenery from the passenger’s seat today,” Chanyeol chirped. “We need to stop by Jiwoo’s workplace first to pick her up by the way.”
Slipping into the car, the two teachers made their way towards the destination. The journey was swift and filled with idle chatter. Like always, Chanyeol’s driving w
