Crush

Lucas was leaning back on the bench when he saw his sister’s Rolls Royce pull over across him.

His sister slid down and looked at him.

“How was work, jie?” He asked with a huge grin, her expression turned sour.

“You knew, didn’t you?”

“No, I found out today. While you were already in that meeting.” He chortled as he stood up and walked towards her.

“I’m thinking about assigning someone to manage this project.” She said as they both got insdie the vehicle.

“Like pa would allow that, we’re working with another company, plus it’s in partnership with the government. He would never let one of our employees handle that for him.” He mused at the eldest.

“Well, I don’t want to work with him.”

“Jie, he’s not that bad. I mean, Chanyeol hyung’s not the typical~”

“Does it look like I care?” She hissed at him as she started the car. Lucas laughed to himself.

“You just don’t want to work with him because you have a crush~”

“Shut up.” She barked, Lucas’s laughter grew.

“Come on, jie. Like you said, two weeks max, and you’re back to your normal self. You’ll be fine.”

She didn’t reply and just focused on the road.

“Besides, this might be a humbling experience for you, you know, to remind yourself that you are human after all.”

Alessandra gave him the finger, Lucas laughed.

“Really? Alessa?” Kai grinned as he set his wine down, he was having dinner with the Park cousins.

“Right, hyung, I saw the article earlier.” Jaehyun nodded.

“Yeah, I met up with her earlier. It’s about that cultural center.” Chanyeol said as he cut his steak, Kai grew amused.

“How was she? Friendly?” He asked sarcastically, Jaehyun chuckled.

“How did she learn Korean? She speaks it perfectly.” Chanyeol asked.

“Their mother’s Korean, hyung. Although, Lucas’s Korea needs help.” Jaehyun nodded, the older male paused and nodded.

“Alessa…Alessa is someone you would call the perfect heir. She was raised to be one, and miraculously, she never rebelled or anything. She naturally took over.”

“Ah, so she’s one of those rare ones.” Chanyeol commented before chewing.

“Yeah, your exact opposite.” Jaehyun said teasingly.

“But, she’s a little..awkward, don’t you think?” Chanyeol asked, Kai paused and looked at him.

“Awkward?” He repeated.

“Hmm, I mean, sure I agree that she knows what she’s doing, she has employees on their toes, but…she’s a little..”

“Alessa is never awkward, hyung. What are you talking about?” Kai mused as he started to eat.

Chanyeol’s brows rose.

“It’s probably because you two just met, you should see her in action.” Kai nodded, Jaehyun looked at his older cousin.

“Could be, but she’s kinda nice too.”

“Are we talking about the same person? Are you sure you met the right Alessa?” Kai asked while blinking, Chanyeol laughed.

Alessa was leaning forward on her desk as she looked at the files on her laptop, she heard the doors opened.

“Vice president,”

She didn’t look up from the screen, her secretary decided to continue talking.

“Your meeting with the marketing department is this afternoon, and here are the files you asked for.” He said as he set some folders on her table.

She nodded, she took off her glasses and looked at the male, the secretary paused.

“Is something wrong, ma’am?” He asked, confused.

“This thing we’re doing with Lotte,”

“Ah, yes, the cultural center?”

She nodded and took a small sip from her coffee.

“Is it possible to just exchange documents while going through the contract? I mean, it’s too much work to meet everyone just to discuss about the building’s~”

“You mean you want to send in a proxy instead, vice president?”

“Exactly.” She murmured and leaned back on her seat.

“Well, you would have had one, managing director Heo was supposed to take this on, but,”

“But, what?”

“You fired him, vice president.”

She paused and blinked at him, she let out a small sigh and nodded.

“And, sending in a proxy~”

“Might come off as rude, I know.” She said as she stood up, she picked up her purse.

“I promised Lucas I’d buy him lunch, have mister Song from SH Group call me if he still wants to push that banking terms he told me about and,”

“I already told the director Jun to stop sending you flowers, don’t worry about that, vice president.”

At the mention of the young director’s name, his boss’s face scrunched in disgust.

“Good.” She said before leaving the office. His secretary shook his head in amusement as soon as she was out.

“She’s only been her for a couple of days and suitors are already lining up, I feel bad for those guys.” He hummed as he arranged the items on her desk.

“All of them are so rich and powerful, but our vice president doesn’t even look at men.”

Alessandra walked around the familiar campus, Lucas had sent her a text that he’d be out in a few minutes and she didn’t feel like waiting for him inside the car.

“It’s been a while.” She said to herself, unaware of the stares she was earning. She could still remember it; her mother was so happy when Alessa decided to study in Seoul for a semester.

Her father had a difficult time letting her go, but in the end, she got what she wanted.

She shook her head to herself, she looked around her.

“Wong Yukhei is taking too long.” She murmured as she turned back, she started going down the steps one by one. Her phone started to ring, she was about to take it out from her purse, not realizing that she was skipping one step.

“Alessa-ssi!”

Alessandra didn’t know what to panic over first, her misstep or the fact that the voice she just heard was very very very familiar.

She felt someone grab her by the waist and yanked her up, she tensed up.

“Are you okay?” Chanyeol asked, he was panting slightly.

Alessandra swallowed, she could only stare back at him.

“Uhm..you—you can let go now.” She breathed, very aware of his arm around her waist. Chanyeol blinked back at her and immediately took a step back.

“Thank you, that…would have been..painful.” She said without meeting his gaze, Chanyeol smiled at her.

“I wasn’t expecting to see you~” Chanyeol halted, his eyes went to her foot.

Alessa followed his gaze, the strap of her Jimmy Choos had come undone.

“Ah, I’ll~”

“I’ll fix it for you, you’re wearing a skirt, it would be difficult to for you.” He said warmly before kneeling down to fix the strap around her ankle. She felt his fingertips brush against her right ankle. Alessa bit her lip and mentally winced.

And now, the girl wanted to run away.

What are you doing?

Are you filming a movie?

I can fix my shoe myself!

Chanyeol was smiling as he stood straightly.

“What brings you in campus?” He asked as her as he gestured for the girl to walk first.

“Lucas. We made plans to grab lunch together,” She replied coolly, she glanced at him briefly.

“You? I wasn’t expecting to see you here.”

“Ah, Jaehyun called me and asked if he could get a ride home, his car broke down.” He replied as they reached the main building.

Alessa nodded back and chewed on the insides of her cheek.

You can go away now, please.

I like walking alone!

“Ah, right, the contracts will be finished by next week. We’ll do the signing at my office.”

“Y—Yes, I heard about that.” She nodded back, she glanced at the building again, waiting and praying for her brother to come out of it.

“But, are you okay? It looked like you twisted your ankle.” Chanyeol asked her.

“Yes, I’m fine.” She nodded back, then she saw her brother walking towards them.

“Hyung, noona!” Lucas beamed as he hopped towards the two, Jaehyun was tailing behind him, talking on his phone.

Lucas grinned at his sister as he reached them, the latter just glared back at him.

“Did you guys come together?” Jaehyun asked them.

“No, I bumped into her here.” Chanyeol replied, Alessa nodded quickly.

“Then, why don’t we get lunch together? Jie’s treating.” Lucas offered, Alessa balked at her sibling.

“Really?” Chanyeol grinned at the Wong siblings, Alessandra glanced at her brother again.

“I feel like eating Chinese food, noona.” Lucas batted his eyes at her.

Do we really need a male heir?

I can probably do it myself.

“Then, Chinese food it is then.” Chanyeol said as they walked back towards the parking lot. Alessandra walked behind the three males and pressed her palms against her cheeks.

We already had lunch together a few days ago!

“Are you sure it doesn’t hurt?” Chanyeol glanced at her again, the two younger boys had gone straight to the parking lot while chatting amongst themselves.

She looked at him, his forehead was creased with worry as his eyes went to her right ankle again.

“I’m really fine, Ch—Chanyeol-ssi.”

Chanyeol nodded back and began walking with her instead, Alessa mentally groaned, she felt her stomach tighten again.

Stupid butterflies.

Stupid stairs.

Stupid Jimmy Choos.
