Chapter 21 

Beakhyun looked at him before passing him to look at the screen. He stopped crying, his mouth trembled at the edge even before the sound of a steady heart beat filled the room.  ‘Look at that... we have a little fighter on are hand.’ The technician voice was filled with awe, this is was made her job worth it.’ Chanyeol  eyes rose to the screen and heard the tiny pulse, weight lifting from his chest, Finally he felt he could breathe again. For the longest time he looked at his baby was this real he thought, listening to the miraculous heartbeat. The tear appeared from somewhere Chanyeol slowly knelt down lifting Beakhyun cold white hand to his lips, kissing it, grateful for this second. He held the bloodless finger to his cheek he felt his warm tears flowing over Beakhyun fingers. ‘Our baby is a fighter.’ he whispered, ‘Are little one is still alive....’

Chanyeol clenched the phone to his ear as he paced his office, “Answer the damn phone, will you.’ Chanyeol was becoming annoyed, Why the hell wasn’t Beakhyun answering his call. One of Beakhyun care worker had called to inform him she was heading home for the day, So Chanyeol wanted to check in he was late today but there was nothing he could do about it.  He rang again and again, Chanyeol head sped up with worry, he hadn’t wanted to go back to work, but he had to attend soon important meeting he couldn’t miss. He wanted to talk to Beakhyun to hear his voice, when it went to the answering machine again he hung up and dialed again.  He really needed to have someone there all the time, But Beakhyun didn’t like it very much. Kyungsoo had come to mind he’d already cut back on his work around the office. Chanyeol couldn’t rid the image of what had happened two weeks again to worried to think of anything else. Chanyeol for the last two weeks had stay with Beakhyun while he was in hospital, ready to get Beakhyun anything he needed. He stayed in hospital for 10 day, before been allowed to go home with strict instruction of bedrest until the baby was born, two days ago on a home visit the doctor who had confined him to bed rest and okay light activity and when he met like that just meant going to the bathroom or changing his clothes. Other than that, everything was to be crated for him, it was at that point Beakhyun had told Chanyeol he was okay and that he needed to get back to work. When Chanyeol heard the record message again he slammed the phone down as this door to his office open, He was sure Kyungsoo has heard him,  

‘Can I get you anything?’ he asked.  Kyungsoo was a little rounder than Beakhyun and still mobile. But Chanyeol had cut back on his work and hours, what had happened to Beakhyun had scared him,he didn’t want his worker to go through the same yes the great Jung Chanyeol had gone soft. 

‘No.’ There was nothing Chanyeol wanted apart for Beakhyun to answer then damn phone. Where the hell was he? Chanyeol wondered, he promised he’d answer. Chanyeol rang again surprisingly it was picked up.  ‘How many times do I have to ring before you pick up?’ Chanyeol said down the phone. 

‘I was a sleep.... sue me....’ Okay it explains it and know Chanyeol felt guilty to some point, ‘I left the phone in the bathroom, Its not easy for me to run to the phone... 

‘Don’t run?’ Chanyeol ordered. ‘Why was it left in the Bathroom?’ 

‘Because you insisted I brought it with me when I had a bath this morning or did you forget, ‘ Beakhyun told him, ‘I left in on the window....'
