Chapter 43: Pause

[ WooHyun POV ]

"I'm going to go take a nap," MyungSoo tapped on my shoulder, "I'll be back to help you on your math homework, okay?"

I saw him walk upstairs and closed the door behind him.

It felt like hours. Hmmm... I should wake him up. My assignment is due soon!!

I creaked the door open.

"MyungSoo~" I sang.

He was sleeping so peacefully.

"MyungSoo..." I shook his shoulder, "Let's do Calculus, please~"

He wasn't even budging. Usually, he's a light sleeper. Why isn't he waking up?

"MyungSoo?" I shook a bit harder, "MyungSoo, stop playing around, let's go~!"

Nothing. I started to get nervous.

"M-MyungSoo, stop p-playing for real...W-Wake up... Wake up..."

"Wake up..."

I jolted awake. Mrs. Park was shaking me.

"You're sweating so hard..." She was wiping the sweat from my forehead.

"I-I'm sorry..." I sat up slowly, "I just had a terrible dream..."

"What happened..?"

"I-I don't know..."

I felt so nervous. It was already my third time having a dream about MyungSoo, and the past two times came true... MyungSoo... I hope nothing happens... MyungSoo, are you alright?

Monday, noon.

"Where's MyungSoo?" I asked SungGyu as I sat down at the lunch table.

"Probably rooftop, as always. He finished eating earlier."

"Ah..."

I looked down at my food. I didn't really have an appetite.

"Hyung, do you want to see my new outfit I designed?" SungJong said, pushing up his glasses.

He looked like such an intellectual when he had his glasses on. I laughed.

He turned around his notebook around and showed me the designs.

"Wow, you did that?!"

"Yup, yup~" SungJong said, "I think I'm going to add some more--"

"Woah, what the heck!!" Someone screamed suddenly.

Everyone started rushing outside the cafeteria.

"What the heck is going on?" Hoya blinked.

We all followed to see.

"I can't see anything," SungYeol said as he tried to look over the crowd of people, "What happened--"

SungYeol froze.

"What, what?" I said, trying to jump to see.

SungYeol became pale.

"Are you alright?" SungGyu went over to SungYeol.

SungYeol suddenly fell. DongWoo quickly held him up.

"It's..." He breathed.

I quickly pushed through the crowd, "Move!! Move!!"

People shouted and yelled, but I kept pushing. My dream about MyungSoo... Had it come true again?

"Move, please!!" I begged, tears streaming down my cheeks, "Please!!"

I made it to the front and was stopped by police, but I pushed them out of the way. And there... I saw.... MyungSoo's body..

I out, but when I blinked again, I heard the police tell me I couldn't cross the boundaries.

"That's my brother, please!!" I started hiccuping.

MyungSoo... Wake up...

Please...

Wake up...

The ambulance took MyungSoo away on a stretcher. 15 minutes later, Ms. Lee arrived at the school to pick us up. We were all sitting in the nurse's office.

Ms. Lee was shaking when she walked in.

"Boys..." She said, her voice almost inaudible.

She pulled DongWoo into a hug. We all stood there silently, unsure what to even say.

"It's okay, Ms. Lee... It'll be okay..." DongWoo whispered as he patted her hair. He was crying as well.

She drove us to the hospital where they said we would be able to see
