Chapter 38: Family

[BoYoung POV]

I was seriously thankful that the Lee family allowed me to stay over. I had a paper to submit at midnight, and that would be impossible to finish in the pitch black without wifi or electricity.

As I was typing up the paper on my laptop, I felt SungYeol take a seat beside me at the kitchen table. I smiled lightly.

"Uhm, so BoYoung..." He fiddled his fingers, "H-How are you doing?"

I chuckled, "Good, good."

"That's good... How are your parents?"

"Mmm... They called me last week to ask how I was doing. They might be coming in next month for a visit."

"Really? I'd love to meet them!"

"Yeah..."

I looked back at my laptop. I wished SungYeol wouldn't meet them. Somehow I thought that he might pity me if he saw that I wasn't really close with my parents. I mean, look at him and the guys. They're so close to Ms. Lee... Meanwhile, I haven't seen my parents in almost a year now. Gosh, I wish I had Ms. Lee as a mom sometimes, she was just so caring--

"Are you alright?" SungYeol blinked.

"Huh?"

"You have a lot on your head, huh?" He nudged my shoulder.

He always knew when I had a lot on my mind...

I nodded lightly.

"How about a break from your paper to clear your mind? We can play some video games in my room!" He suggested.

"Take that!!" I squealed, "I won again!!"

SungYeol huffed, "This is rigged!! My... My controller has sticky buttons!!"

"Oh, sure it does~" I joked, "I bet I could beat you with that controller, too."

He pushed me jokingly and I laughed.

"I'm gonna go get some snacks," He smiled.

He stood up, and just as so, he tripped on the controller's cable. He yelped and I tried to catch him but everything happened so suddenly. I felt our heads collide as I shut my head.

"Ow..." I felt my head.

I opened my eyes and... S-S-SungYeol...?

Our faces were inches apart, and his body was on top of mine. He let out a sigh and felt his head before opening his eyes. As he realized the situation, his eyes widened. I blinked a few times as well. I was still holding his arm from when I tried to catch him. He quickly scrambled off of me. He stood up and paced around the room before coughing awkwardly.
