Russian Roulette

Seo was taking her break when something crossed her mind again. The same thoughts has been bugging her the whole week, it's eating all her brain cells. Of course her mind contains nothing but him, her boss, Kim JaeJoong. What happened that night remained etched inside her mind. Those words never heard by the man. Instead she was left there with her reasons unexplained, her feelings unspoken, her tears not wanting to stop. The morning after that, she returned to work, with the goal of wanting to act normal in the very least, but failed, leaving her nothing but blanking out and getting depressed about what happened. For seven days, honestly, she has been failing on trying to act normal. Truthfully, she just want to go back to the last few weeks. Those days when her phone often light up, with his name on the screen, those late night phone calls, those spontaneous visits he does and those sweet words he never missed saying. She was missing him a lot.

"Seo, break's over," the manager called to her, as he look behind the door. Snapping back to reality, Seo nodded at him, and rushed out to the cafe. She already reached the counter when she heard the door opened. As always she bowed to the customer, but instead, her eyes grew wide, when the guy she was thinking of earlier, appeared in front of her so suddenly.

Her heart cringed when Jae didn't even gave her a smile, and instead curtly nodded at her. He quickly rushed to the manager, and the other employees bowed to him. The manager led them to the foyer, with Gongchan followed closely behind.

She was unconsciously staring at them intently, that she was surprised when she heard Youngmin asking her if she was okay. Seo merely nodded, and tried to get back to work. For two hours, Jae and the manager stayed in the foyer, and Seo couldn't help but consistenly passed by the door leading to them. She couldn't help but feel greedy, and let herself catch glimpses of the man. For a moment, she imagined that maybe today, he was going to ask for her again, hoping that he came for them to make up already. Her hopes was shattered when she saw Jae standing up from the foyer and was being lead to the front door by the manager himself. She couldn't help but feel disappointed, when he didn't even acknowledge her when he passed by.

"JaeJoong-ssi," she called out, but the guy never even gave her a glance.

She wanted to cry right there and then, she never knew how much it could hurt. I wish you would just talk to me, like before.

---

The day was already too much for Seo, that for the rest of the day, she was already in set of sulking inside her room, letting her tears run dry. She just wanted to run away from the place and be swallowed up inside the four-walls of her house. After her shift ended, she was already out of the door, when someone grabbed her hand. She looked up, and she saw Minho's smiling face.

"Bwo?" She asked, not in the mood to play games with the man.

"It's just that," he said, feeling hesitant as she looked at the irritated woman, "..do you have plans today?"

Seo just shook her head, and waited if he was going to say more.

"Wanna hang out with me then?" He asked, "It's just that.. it's been so long since I last went out. I've been wanting to take a break, so are you game?" He explained, for her not to take it for a real date.

"Sure," she said, seeing that she also needed to take a break from all of this, for how crappy she felt about JaeJoong. "I also needed to take a break," she smiled at him.

"Jinja?" He asked excitedly. He immediatly grabbed her hand, when she nodded, seeing that he shouldn't even waste time, since this was the one date he was always dreaming of.

---

The first stop they made was at the CD store. There were times when MinHo's only escape was this place. Whenever he feels down or stress, this was the place he always goes to. Of course, it's owned by one of his friends, so he never gets scolded even if he sits there for hours, listening to free music.

"Is it good?" He asked anciticipating Seo's answer as he made her listen to one of the alternative bands he was currently listening to.

"It's good," she answered, her head bobbing down in harmony with the song. She pulled one of the earphones and placed it on Minho's. His cheeks brushed hers, but only Minho felt something upon their contact. Seo was too much drawn to the song.

"I never knew genres like this would be like this.. it feels ecstatic," she commented. "I guess ballads and classics aren't just my favorites now."

"I'll lend you some of my cds' some time," he said.

"How did you even found this place?" She asked, but before she could even answer, a girl came to them and covered Minho's eyes. Seo felt surprised for what happened. Minho was the type of person who wasn't a fan of skinship, and seeing him being casual about this left Seo feeling astounded.

"Oppa," she said sweetly, "Guess who I am?"

"Jiyeon, this thing is just getting a little too old, don't you think so?" He commented harshly, earning a punch from the auburn-haired girl. Seo was surprised to see a tall beauty next to Minho. She had an auburn hair, and a pretty smile. Her eyes were heavily colored with mascara and eyeliner. She had a pale milky skin that perfectly accentuated her dark skinny jeans and blue denim button down. Her arm was hooked on Minho, and they were talking like she wasn't even there.

Feeling out of place, Seo silently left the two, and just toured around the shop more. She searched for cds she might like, but instead something else was bugging her. She felt smaller when she saw the woman, Jiyeon, looking relaxed as she talked to Minho. Of course, any guy would die just to be with her, and Minho even suited the woman. And Jessica.. seeing how beautiful she is, she couldn't help but think that she and Jae would make a perfect couple. She sighed and looked at her reflection through the mirror, her shabby looking self frowing back at her. There is just zero chance  for a guy to even date me, isn't it?

Seeing that Minho might have forgotten her, Seo just left the shop, and wandered around the street. She was waiting by the bus stop when someone sat next to her.

"Why did you leave?" Minho asked breathlessly as he catched for air. As soon as he realized that Seo wasn't there anymore, he frantically searched the shop. Thank heavens that the manager told him that she just left a while ago.

"I'm sure you and here had a lot of catching up to do, do I felt a little out of place," she explained, not wanting to make him feel guilty for having so much fun with the girl.

"But I was having more fun with you," he confessed, hiding his blushing face away from her.

"What did you say?"

"Nothing," he said quickly, "What do you want to do next?"

"Ice cream!"

---

"So who was she anyways?" She asked curiously as she happily her strawberry-flavored ice cream. After buying their food, they walked to the nearest park and sat down on one of the benches.

"Jiyeon-ah?"

Seo nodded.

"Ex-girlfriend," he said, and observed for some small changes on Seo's expression, but instead she continued the ice cream, making his attempts futile.

"Jinja?" She asked. Minho never really mentioned about his part girlfriends. Seo even thought that Minho was single for almost 21 years now.

"Ne," he answered, "She was my girlfriend in high school. We went out for two years."

"Omo! That's a very long time," she commented. It was very unsual to see highschool couple who stick it out for that long, and hearing Minho said it, Seo thought that Minho might be a good boyfriend. "Why did you break up then?"

"We just grew apart. We're still good friends though."

"What a loss. She's very pretty, and she suits you very well. She looked so good, and her make-up was pretty."

"She is, but you know what? I'd rather date a girl who wears flannel shirts and jeans." He commented rather bravely, but as usual, Seo never even got the hint, and instead hit his shoulder. She kept telling him how stupid he was and blah blah blah.

How thick-headed can you be Seo?

---

When Minho walked her home, Seo immediately thanked her for the lovely day. They bid their goodbyes, but something else clicked inside Minho that he grabbed her hand.

"I like you." He confessed.

Seo covered , stunned by what she just heard. She couldn't believe it, she couldn't believe what Minho had just said.

"I like you so much, Seo. So please go out with me."
