Chapter 31: Be Happy

Born Sinner

-Youngjae’s POV-

It was hard for me to go back to sleep and rest. I was too anxious, knowing that Jiho and the others were here too. I wanted to see them, I missed them so much.

The others seemed like they were having a difficult time going back to sleep as well. After his nightmare, Tae had refused to sleep. He refused to even close his eyes, so Min stayed up with him. Lee left to chat with Yang, and Kris had said that he was going to go out for a walk.

Daehyun also decided to get some fresh air as well. Himchan and Yongguk stayed in the tent making small talk with each other. Zelo sat by Tae to help calm him and make him feel better, but I could tell that he was upset, especially with Yongguk, Himchan, and Jongup. Jongup was the only one who was fast asleep.

The air in the atmosphere remained heavy, despite the fact that we had regained our courage to move on and fight again. I finally stood up and left the tent, deciding to look for my friends.

I roamed around the large campsite in search of the seven familiar faces. I decided to look around the training areas, assuming that they’d most likely be training. “Wow…everyone is really training hard.” I noted aloud as I observed everyone and the place. My heart sank at a sudden thought. They’re probably training hard thinking or knowing that they’d be able to win, expecting us to have succeeded in our mission.

I sighed, everyone’s hope had laid on us…and now-, “Youngjae?” a familiar voice interrupted my thoughts. I looked up, my eyes widening. A smile automatically grew on my face as I unconsciously ran up to him and hugged him tightly. “Jiho~.” I breathed, feeling my eyes get warm.

“Haha, you act as if you haven’t seen me in ages.” He chuckled lightly. I just looked at him. “Seriously?” I said. He just smiled at me, I couldn’t help but smile back. “Is that Youngjae?” I heard Jaehyo ask. “It is Youngjae!” I heard Kyung chirp. “Youngjae!!” Jihoon cheered running over to us. The others followed right behind him.

The six of them all squished us into a large group hug. “Everyone is here again.” Jihoon smiled, squeezing us even tighter. “G-Guys…C-Can’t breathe…” Jiho struggled, as we were the ones in the middle. We were like this for a few more seconds before they finally released their giant hug. I couldn’t help but laugh. I missed them so much.

“We were worried about you. Especially after finding out what your mission was.” Jaehyo said. “Yeah! I was afraid that you were going to die. Because if you died then that would make me the youngest and I would get picked on.” Jihoon confessed. I chuckled at this, “But I don’t get picked on.” I told him. Yeah, but they’ll pick on me~.” Jihoon pouted. Jaehyo shook his head.

“I wasn’t worried. I knew you were going to come back alive.” Kyung announced proudly, folding his arms. Jaehyo and Ukwon rolled their eyes at him. “You were the one worrying the most. You even almost cried.” Ukwon reminded. Kyung scoffed at this. “I was not worried.” “Then why were you crying?” Ukwon challenged.

“Y-Yah! I told you I got sweat in my eye. I was sweating a lot from training and a lot got in my eye and it burned.” Kyung spat. “Sure. We didn’t even train that day.” Ukwon grinned his own arms now folded. The elder was lost for words. “…whatever. I wasn’t crying.” He grumbled.

“Where are the others? Are they still asleep?” Minhyuk asked. I shook my head. “They’re all up, except for Jongup. They’re back at the tent.” “Oh?! Is my little brother there too?!” Kyung perked up. I nodded chuckling a little. “Ah, I wonder if he’s been working on his rap skills, because I’ve improved a lot.” Kyung said proudly.

Jihoon’s eyes widened in excitement. “Are you going to have another rap battle?” he questioned. Kyung nodded. The younger’s face suddenly became skeptical. “You’re going to lose.” He finally said.

Kyung’s jaw dropped, being thrown off guard. Ukwon and Minhyuk snickered at this. “I will win!” Kyung defended, but Jihoon wasn’t buying it. “You’re just saying that because you like him more.” Kyung accused. Jihoon stood there as if to actually think about it. “Hmmm…” He hummed to himself in thought, tapping his chin. “You’re right.” He finally said, not denying the elder’s words.

“I’m going to win. I’ll show you. Kyung said marching away. Jihoon’s eyes lit up. “Yeah! A rap battle!” He cheered, following after him when Jiho grabbed both of their collars and dragged them back. “Yah! What are you doing?” Kyung pulled away not appreciating being dragged by his shirt. “Leave Zelo alone. They just got here. Let them rest. He’ll come out when he’s ready.” Jiho said. The two frowned at his but gave in, knowing that he needed to rest. “Besides, we should get back to training.” Jiho added.

This time Taeil groaned, earning all of our attention. “I’m tired.” He groaned. Kyung hung his arm over the shorter’s shoulders. “Come on Taeil. I’ll show you how to be a professional fighter like me.” Kyung said walking along with him. “Great. Now I’m definitely going to die, before we even go into battle.” Taeil grumbled. “What?” Kyung asked not hearing him, but the elder didn’t respond.

I couldn’t help but laugh. Deep down, I actually felt bad for Taeil. “See you later Jae.” Ukwon smiled as the rest of them followed the two. “Yeah! After we finish training we need to get together. It’s been a while.” Jaehyo said. “Definitely.” I waved back at them.

Jiho was the only one who stayed behind. “Shouldn’t you go with them?” I asked. “I’ll catch up with them later.” He shrugged. I just looked at him. “Besides, I’m the best fighter here. I don’t need as much training as they do.” He smirked slyly. I scoffed at this. “What? You don’t believe me?” He questioned wide-eyed.

“I didn’t say that, but I’d imagine that you’d break every weapon you touch.” I teased. “Tch…” was his only response, not denying it. I couldn’t help but laugh again. “You forget that I’m smart.” I said tapping my temple. “Whatever. That has nothing to do with being smart.” He remarked.

We walked around the camp just talking and catching up. He said not much had happened on their end, but they did see some wounded soldiers that were brought back to the camp. They had also made a few new friends and recently met the Shadow Seekers. “Everyone is working hard.” He said a small smile on his face. I looked at him confused. “Why are you smiling?” I asked. He looked down, kicking at the dirt a bit before speaking again. “I really feel like we’re going to win this war.” He smiled even more as he said it out loud. My eyes slightly widened, not expecting that at all.

My heart immediately sank. I wanted to believe it too. I should believe it too! But it was hard to. Everyone was depending on us and we failed. The unthinkable had happened, and it just became hard to believe again. “I hope we do.” I said trying hard to hide the doubt and sadness in my voice.

However, Jiho knew me all too well and caught my doubt. He gave me a concerned look, but decided not to ask. Instead, he placed his hand on my furthest shoulder and squeezed it. “Ah, don’t give up Jae. It’s going to turn out for the best. Good always defeats evil.” He said, a warm smile plastered on his face.

“Does it really?” I asked unconsciously, thinking about what happened to Daehyun and Jayde and how we practically fell apart. “Yeah. Of course. Did those stories your mother told you teach you nothing?” he teased. I couldn’t help but smile. He ruffled my hair. “That’s what I thought.” He laughed.

I missed his boisterous laugh so much.

I stopped in the middle of my tracks, causing him to stop as well. “What’s wrong?” he asked. I slowly looked up at him, my eyes burning. He only looked at me confused. Then I hugged him again tightly. “I missed you guys so much. I’m glad we came back.” I muffled into his shirt. The elder was too stunned to say anything. I was overwhelmed with all kinds of emotions. I felt terrible, guilty, overjoyed, thankful, burdened, sad, and happy. I really didn’t know what I should be feeling right now, it was all a lot.

“Sorry.” I apologized, releasing my hug. Jiho only smiled. “It’s okay. You’ve probably been through a lot.” He said. I just nodded. “We missed you a lot too Jae.” He said with that warm smile of his. “I’m glad you came back safe and in one piece. Seeing all the wounded soldiers that rely made me and the others worry about you even more.” He admitted. “I’m glad you guys are safe too.” I said. He chuckled a little, “We didn’t even go anywhere.” “I know.” I smiled.

We continued to walk around the camp until we were back at the training area, where the others had started up their training again. The two of us watched them, leaning against the wooden fence. I was surprised to see that they had actually gotten really good.

Kyung was doing really good, but Taeil still looked as if he didn’t want to train with him. Even Jaehyo was handling his sword and weapons with ease. Ukwon was training against a pureblood. I honestly wasn’t too surprised that he was able to stand his ground well. He’s a fast learner, so he was able to adapt to his powers and learn to fight with ease. “Minhyuk and Jihoon decided to learn how to shoot arrows.” Jiho informed me, pointing to the very far end of the training space where the said people were practicing.

Minhyuk’s shots were only a couple of inches from hitting the dead center of the target. “Archery really fits Minhyuk nicely, he’s always focused.” Jiho noted. I nodded in agreement. I was honestly shocked to see that Jihoon was handling the arrows very well too. He’s hardly ever focused, so seeing him like this was strange but impressive at the same time.

I watched everyone in mere disbelief. For some reason, it was all just now starting to hit me. “This is all so crazy.” I breathed, barely above a whisper. Jiho looked down at me. “I never would have thought in a million years that we’d become fighters.” I said.

Jiho shrugged a little. “I had thought the same way, but then I realized that we have always been fighters.” He said. I looked at him, not quite understanding what he meant. “To go through what we went through, you have to be a fighter. You have to b a fighter to push on and find the best out of life in a gloomy place like the village. You have to be a fighter to have the courage to live and survive in that place.” He clarified.

I paused, taking in his words. He had a really good point. Jiho smiled and ruffled my hair. “Don’t think too much, you need to rest.” He said. I gave him a small smile continuing to watch the others. “They’re actually pretty good.” I stated. “Mm hm. But between you and me, I’m way better than all of them combined.” He stated proudly.

I scoffed, rolling my eyes. “You’re probably the best at breaking weapons.” I remarked. “Don’t worry. You’ll see. When the time comes for us to battle, you’ll see how amazing I am and regret that you doubted me.” He promised. I sighed, a small smile on my face, “I hope that time never has to come.” I didn’t want them to risk their lives. It’ll only make me fearful. They’re all I have now.

If I lose them too, what will I do? Just then I looked at Jiho, who was watching Kyung and Taeil train. He was laughing at the awkward incompatible combo. “Jiho.” I said quiet enough for him not to hear. “We’re going to win this battle, so you and the others won’t have to fight anymore.” I promised.

We stayed there and watched the others train for a few more minutes before Jiho decided that he should get back to training. I watched him for a little bit. He wasn’t lying. He was actually really good, but I’m not going to tell him that.

After watching Jiho for a little I decided to go back to the tent to rest. But when I got there I saw that everyone was there except for Lee, Kris, and Daehyun. “Where’s Daehyun?” I asked them already having an idea of where the other two were.

They all shrugged. “He hasn’t come back since he left.” Himchan answered. I nodded then glanced at Zelo. He was still sat by the now sleeping twins, his back towards his elder three friends. He was angry with them. All I could do was sigh and left the large tent to look for Daehyun. I couldn’t blame him for being mad and disappointed, but I didn’t want him to hold a grudge. Because, I know if anything were to happen to any of them he would regret it and be extremely hurt.

I roamed around the camp for a third time, unable to find Daehyun anywhere. “I hope he’s alright.” I thought aloud to myself. “You hope who’s alright?” Somebody suddenly asked, interrupting my focus. I turned to see that it was Kris.

He forced a smile at me, but sadness was prominent in his eyes. “Oh…I’m just looking for Daehyun. Have you seen him?” I asked hopefully. He scrunched his brow as he sorted through his memory. “Last time I saw him, he was headed toward the stream.” He finally answered. “Stream?” I repeated. He nodded. “Yeah, there’s a stream near here. If you just go straight, all the way down, you’ll see it.” He instructed, pointing in the direction.

A smile grew on my face. “Thanks Kris.” I thanked about to turn around and run, when I suddenly stopped myself. “Hey Kris.” I said, turning back to him. “Yeah?” “You should talk to Jiho.” I said. “Who?” he questioned. “He’s a close friend of mine. I think he’ll be good help to you.” I told him. The Shadow Seeker looked at me, still confused. “I think he’ll be able to help restore you’re positivity. He’s here. You’ll know who he is when you see him.” And with that I ran off, not bothering to wait for a response from him.

I followed Kris’s instructions and ran all the way down and to my surprise there was a stream at the end. It was surrounded by fresh green trees and shrubs. I smiled at the sight. It’s really been a long time since I’ve seen fresh plants and trees like this. “Daehyun~…” I called. But there was no response.

“Daehyun~.” I called again only to receive silence in return. I continued to walk along the stream for a few more minutes, before I finally found him. He was sat on the ground ear the stream. His arms hung loosely over his knees. He stared down at the stream, thinking deeply to himself.

I took a step forward but paused. What was I going to say to him? We haven’t really spoken properly since…since that day he yelled at me. But that wasn’t him. That wasn’t really him.

I sighed, why am I acting so hesitant? I just want to talk to him…then just do it. With that final thought I marched over to him and sat down on the ground a few inches away from him. He slightly jumped at my sudden intrusion, but relaxed when he saw that it was me. Then he returned to staring down at the stream.

It was silent between us for a little bit, the only noise coming from the gentle stream and the rustle of the leaves. “Hm…I wonder where the small animals are.” I said breaking the silence, in an attempt to start a conversation. There really weren’t any little critters around, mostly just bugs. “I’m sorry.” He suddenly said.

I looked at him somewhat confused. “I’m sorry for yelling at you the other day and trying to push you away…I-I just wanted to protect you.” He apologized, his eyes never drifting away from the stream. “It took you long enough.” I remarked.

He slowly looked at me with a confused look on his face. I gave him a small smile, “I forgive you.” I told him.

The confusion on his face quickly morphed into one of shock. I slightly chuckled at this. “Why do you look so surprised?” I questioned. “…I thought that you didn’t forgive so easily.” He confessed.

All I could do was nod. “Well…in the situation we’re in, there’s no time to hold any grudges.” I told him honestly. “And…I’m just glad that you’re okay now.”

He didn’t respond and was quiet for a little bit more. “I don’t know how to say this but…I’m sorry for…for almost…trying to…” He didn’t dare to finish his sentence, but I knew what he meant. “I forgive you.” I assured him.

He looked away from me shamefully, facing the stream again. “How?” He asked barely a whisper. “Because…I know that it wasn’t you.” I said. “You would never do something like that.” I told him.

His fists bawled up as he turned his face further away from me. “I wanted you to hate me again. That’s why I tried to push you away. I wanted you to hate me so that you could stay away from me and…you’d be safe. But instead I ended up hurting you even more.” He clenched his teeth. I frowned at this. Was he still hung up on that? When there’s so much more going on? I remained silent, allowing him to continue.

“I couldn’t control myself…but I knew exactly what I was doing. I was still me, I was still aware…so how can you possibly forgive me?” His voice cracked a little towards the end. “It can possibly happen again.”

“But…plans have changed. So maybe it won’t.” I urged.

“You don’t know that.” He said.

I sighed, starting to get somewhat frustrated. “Then you should have told me about this earlier. We could have probably prevented this.” I nearly spat at him. He didn’t say anything. “You should have told me earlier, I would have been more careful and I would have helped you.” I went on. "I'm sorry...Youngjae" "Gosh Daehyun you're such an idiot." I sighed shaking my head.

"You said it's a curse right?" I asked him. He nodded, still not bothering to look at me. "Then I can find a way to break the curse. I won't be able to get rid of the brand but you won't be controlled anymore." I said lighting up at the idea.

"I can definitely find a way to break it." I smiled unconsciously. But he only sighed, causing me to frown again. "What is it now?"

"I don't...I don't know." he confessed. "My parents they..." he paused, still in disbelief."...they joined the Dark Magic...I know they aren't bad people. Th-They wouldn't...they couldn't. They're not perfect and may be selfish at times but...they're not evil."

I didn't say anything. I honestly wasn't surprised when Yang said that they had sided with the DM, but I was mostly worried for Daehyun, knowing that he'd be in shock.

I guess they're not "evil", but they aren't good either...I didn't dare to tell him this though. "They're my family. I was raised by them, they taught me everything. So...what if I'm just like them?" he said gripping his left shoulder. "Youngjae...it's all too much." a tear streamed down his cheek.

My heart sank for him. He was really going through a lot of pain. I scooted closer to him, to where we were only centimeters apart. "You're not like them. Trust me. If you were...I wouldn't be here with you right now. I wouldn't have ever forgiven you." I rested my hand on his shoulder.

But this didn't seem to help him, as more tears streamed down his cheeks, his shoulders trembling.

"Daehyun..." I whispered sadly.

"I feel like I have responsibility over this too. The Kingdom is now under the control of the DM because of MY family. Everyone is affected...and the villagers...they've probably been turned to slaves. And your friend's families are probably suffering too." he gritted through his teeth.

My eyes slightly widened. I hadn't even thought about that. I wonder if they know.

"You're not alone." I said quietly.

He didn't say anything.

"The man that claims to be my father was working for the Dark Magic the whole time...and so was Jiho's dad...Jayde told me." I whispered the last part, at the mentioning of our lost leader....our friend.

His shoulders stop trembling and the tears slowly began to stop falling. "So Daehyun...please stop crying. Things happen, but you can't give up. Jayde never gave up...and my mother never gave up. So I'm not going to give up."

"You didn't even give up when you tried to get me to like you again. So you can't give up now." I urged a small smile growing on my face. I looked up at him, and he looked back down at me. “You especially can’t give up now, because you and my friends are all I have. And when we go back into battle you’ll be all I have.” I felt my eyes get warm.

He remained silent and rest his chin on top my head. “I’m sorry.” He finally spoke again. “Stop apologizing.” I said. “And just do it.”

He took my hand in his. “Youngjae, I promise I-,” but I quickly cut him off by placing my finger against his lips. “Shh…No more promises. You’ve broken all of them.” I told him, removing my finger. He frowned at this. “I’m sorry.” He apologized for the nth time.

“Aigoo! You really are an idiot. Stop apologizing and just do it. So depressing. I should’ve just stayed with Jiho and them. They were more fun.” I remarked.

A cheesy grin suddenly grew on his face. He wrapped his arms around me, squeezing me tight. “You wouldn’t want to be around them over me.” He said. I scoffed at this. “Yes I would.” I murmured. “No you wouldn’t…because I wouldn’t let you.” He simply said. I couldn’t help but scoff for a second time. “How can your attitude change so quickly?” I remarked.

He squeezed me even tighter. “I love you Youngjae…I don’t know what I’d do without you.” He said. I relaxed in his arms. “I love you too Daehyun….for now on…no more secrets. Okay? Let’s just help each other out and work together.” I said. He nodded, “That sounds like a better idea.”

I smiled at this. He really meant it. Don’t worry Daehyun…I’m going to do whatever it takes to break that curse, so you don’t have to worry. You’re not like your parents…you’re nothing like them.

We sat there like that for a few more hours. We didn’t say much, I took a small nap, but other than that we just embraced the nice, calming scenery. “I hope we can do stuff like this after the war.” Daehyun said after I had woken up from my cat nap.

“Back at the palace there’s a large beautiful garden with the prettiest flowers. We can always sit like this there. There isn’t a stream though.” He scrunched his brow as if to think deeply about it. “But there’s a water fountain.” He finally said. “Water fountains aren’t the same. They’re just artificial waterfalls.” I said re-closing my eyes.

“Then I’ll just make a stream.” He concluded. All I could do was give him a small smile. I don’t know what life is going to be like after the war…none of us do. All we knew was that life will change forever and it was going to take a while to adjust.

We didn’t leave the stream until the sun began to set. A large dinner was set up for all of us, inside a fairly large cabin that was meant for everyone to eat in. We were sat at a very long table near the back of the large mess hall. Everybody was there, including Jiho and the others, the Yang guy, and the Kuam guy. I sat down next to Zelo and Daehyun sat down next to me.

“How are you feeling? I asked the younger member, seeing that he was still avoiding his other three friends. “I’m fine hyung.” He said, forcing a smile, but his eyes exposed his sadness. I nodded, not wanting to push the issue. He was still feeling down about what happened to Jayde, after all it did happen not even a day ago. However, it did seem like after our conversation this morning everyone was trying to become somewhat more positive.

I looked over to see that Zelo was sitting by Min, but Tae was nowhere to be seen. “Where’s Tae?” I asked.

“He’s still in the tent. He didn’t feel like coming out.” Min whimpered. “But he did tell me to bring him some food.” He added. I nodded in understanding, he was probably taking it the hardest…after all, he did wake up crying. “But he’ll get better!” Min perked with forced hope. I gave him a soft smile. “He will.” I assured the hybrid.

Not much was said between the eleven of us. Kuam was the one to update everyone on what was going on, and Lee and Kris spoke about what happened the other day.

Jiho and the others were surprised to hear about Jayde, but didn’t dare to ask about it. After we all finished discussing about business, small talk was made as we attempted to lighten the mood. My childhood friends were the ones to really lift the mood…by a lot. They led the conversations and we interacted with them.

They were all energetic and joyful and hopeful. This brought a smile to my face, they hadn’t changed at all. The others were even starting to feel better as they spoke up a little more and even laughed a little. Zelo’s mood even lifted quickly as he spoke with them.

After dinner we all went outside and hung out together. Min even brought Tae out. The two were amazed by Zelo’s rap skills as Zelo, Jiho, and Kyung all had a rap battle. I couldn’t help but laugh at this, as the twins joined Jihoon as Zelo’s cheerleaders.

That’s not fair. You guys are distracting me with your cheering.” Kyung said after being the first one to lose. “I thought you said you improved.” Jihoon challenged. “I did!” Kyung defended. “Well, if you improved then our cheering shouldn’t bother you. It doesn’t bother Jiho.” Jihoon retorted.

Kyung scoffed. “Why does Zelo get cheered for anyway?” He questioned. “Because…we like Zelo better.” Jihoon reminded, but before the elder could respond Kris joined in.

“Hey~…let me try this rap battle thing.” The Shadow Seeker said. “Are you sure?” I questioned. He has no idea what he’s getting himself into. “Yeah, why not?” The elder shrugged. “Okay, just warning you. It’s not a friendly battle.” I told him. “I think I can handle it.” Kris smirked. “Do you even know how to rap?” Jihoon questioned suspiciously.

“Yeah. I got a few tricks up my sleeve.” Kris said very nonchalant. “Really?” Zelo asked, sounding somewhat surprised. The elder nodded. “Yeah! Let him join in. I want a rematch.” Kyung said, ready to go. “You’re going to lose anyway.” Jihoon told him.

“Hey Lee. Do you want to get in on this?” Kris asked seeing the said vampire watching from a distance. “Tch…I don’t rap.” The vampire scoffed. “Fine. Suit yourself.” The Shadow seeker shrugged. “But…I’ll watch.” Lee mumbled walking up to our side of the group.

The others were sitting and talking, doing their own thing. Jaehyo and Himchan were babbling on and on about something. Ukwon was showing Jongup some new moves he came up with, with his water magic. Taeil sat with them, watching curiously. And Minhyuk and Bang seemed to be having a deep conversation, with Minhyuk doing most of the talking. I shook my head, what weird stuff is he feeding him now?

It was honestly really weird seeing the royals hangout and get along with my friends. “This is weird.” I said aloud. “What is?” Daehyun asked, his arm wrapped around my shoulders.

“Seeing your friends hang out with my friends. Royals, getting along with my friends.” I confessed. “Isn’t that a little selfish?” He questioned. I looked at him, “What?”

“Calling them your friends. They’re all of our friends now. We’re all friends.” He smiled. I just shook my head…of course. “KRIS!” we heard somebody suddenly yell.

We all turned our attention towards the source to see eleven more people heading our way. It was the Shadow Seekers whom we met earlier on our journey.

“KRIS!!” Tao yelled again, jumping on top of the elder, nearly causing him to stumble to the ground. “Haha, hey Tao.” Kris laughed. “Kris you’re back!” Luhan jumped, running up to the two, the remaining nine following behind.

“Why didn’t you come say hi to us after you came?” Tae asked, climbing off the elder not sounding happy. “I was looking for you guys earlier, but they told me that you guys went out scouting and wouldn’t be back for a while.” Kris explained. Tao only huffed not finding the excuse good enough. “Where’s Jasmine?” Kair asked curiously, seeing that there was a person missing.

“Who?” D.O. questioned with a raised eyebrow. “No one.” Kai smiled cheekily, only to get a suspicious look from the elder. “Yeah…and where’s Jayde?” Xiumin questioned noticing that she was missing as well.

“And why did you go off without telling anyone?!” Suho scolded. Kris gave him a cheeky smile. “I’ll explain everything to you guys later. Right now I’m in the middle of a rap battle, so if you’ll excuse me-,” “Tap Battle?” Tao and Chanyeol perked up.

Kris nodded and returned back to what he was doing, with Tao and Chanyeol migrating over to the rap group. The rest of the Shadow Seekers mingled in with everyone else, getting to know everyone better.

I smiled at the scene. For a moment everyone seemed genuinely happy not having a care in the world. They were all talking, getting to know each other a little better, catching up, or enjoying the battle that never seemed to have a winner. Tae was even able to crack a smile.

I rested my head on Daehyun’s shoulder. Why couldn’t we have all been like this just one day ago?

A/N: I'm sorry if this chapter seems a bit off and choppy. It's been a LONG time since I've actually written in this story. It will flow better (hopefully, or I may just come back and change things later).
