I followed Kris to the studio, without looking back at Jang Hae Byeol one more time. She was jealous, I could tell. Just let her. 

I wanted to know why this girl was inside the SM building although she wasn't allowed to. And I was wondering why Kris talked to her, and especially why he smiled at Jang Hae Byeol. I kept my gaze on the paper cups filled with coffee. Arriving at the studio, I looked up and handed Joon Seok his latte macchiato. As I was on the verge of sipping my latte macchiato, Kris interrupted me and I raised my eyebrows in surprise. 

"You bought one for Joon Seok hyung and one for youself, but you forgot me?" Kris crossed his arms and leaned against the door of the recording studio. 

"Tsk, you were busy talking to your ex so it's your own fault. You could've told me that I should buy you one, but you didn't." I retorted and held the paper cup in front of his face to . 

"Maybe you've already forgotten that you are my slave, so give me the paper cup, Ms. Katie Ahn." Kris said and put out his hand for the latte macchiato I still held. 

I shook my head and suppressed a grin. "I thought you don't like coffee that much." 

"I don't, but I need to drink it now." Kris replied and stole my paper cup. My mouth fell open as he sipped the latte macchiato and returned it to me. I let out a sigh and took a sip. Ew, your saliva.

"And this is why I sipped it first, because I don't need to drink your saliva. You forgot to buy some cola for me this morning, so this is your punishment. Get started, we'll work on your pronunciation." Kris grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the recording studio. 

"We're recording this right now?" I asked in disbelief and watched how Kris put the studio headphones on my ears before standing beside me, keeping his arms crossed and his gaze on the lyrics he took out of my bag. 

Kris nodded and pointed on the first line. "You'll sing this on your own and I'll correct you everytime you pronounce something wrong. That means, I will correct you every second." 

Cocky Ice King, I won't pronounce anything wrong.

But I was wrong. The native speaker was always right of course, and he corrected me every single time. 

I'm serious. Every. single. time. 

We repeated one line for about fifty times and Kris is still not satisfied. I didn't lose my patience, I kept working and trying to satisfy him with the pronunciation, but he only rolled his eyes every single time. Kris let out a groan in annoyance and put the other studio headphones on. "This is really frustrating. Come on, I'll do the first bit and you'll do the rest." 

Joon Seok gave us a sign and the music again. I guessed he was upset too, Joon Seok always interrupted everything because of Kris and me. When Kris started to sing, I almost forgot to join and I even forgot the lyrics. I was deep in thoughts, and I couldn't help but to stay quiet to listen to Kris's voice. It's been a while that I last him singing, and now I was kind of glad that I asked him to help me although it wasn't necessary at all.

"  3-6-5 Wǒ jué bù fàngshǒu "

It was his turn again to sing. I glanced at Joon Seok sunbae who recorded the demo and he was pretty satisfied because he was smiling really brightly. There are really no things Kris isn't good at. 

Kris is a great singer and rapper. Kris is a great chef. Kris is a great dancer and he even played basketball in his school. It's hardly surprising that Kris has so many admirers, including Jang Hae Byeol. 

" 3-6-5 Wǒ zài nǐ shēnbiān "

I put my headphones off and smiled at Kris. At these moments, I'd forget that Kris was this mysterious, cocky Ice King. I'd think that he was different, but I wasn't able to see through his soul. I was pulled back to reality because Joon Seok sunbae applauded us and praised Kris and me for finally managing to record the demo without interrupting us only once. Joon Seok leaned back and sighed. He was as relieved as me and I couldn't help but to smile all over the face. 

"Stop smiling like that, it scares me." Kris said grabbing his phone because it made a ringing sound. "I'll be right there, I am done now." Kris said and left the studio. I lowered my head once Kris was gone. I left the recording studio and sank into my chair.

"I couldn't even thank him for helping me with this." I mumbled and leaned back. I could also thank him later, but I wasn't sure if he'd be the same then. Who knew what Jang Hae Byeol told Kris, or did to him.

"I thought you only pretended to need help because you are fluent." Joon Seok teased me and smirked. He turned back to his work but I knew he waited for my reply. 

"But still, I couldn't thank him. He's probably with his girl." I sighed and groaned in frustration. 

Joon Seok laughed and patted my shoulder. "You might be right, but Yifan knows what he's doing. Why are you worrying about him so much? I thought you don't like him." 

I shrugged my shoulders. "It's not that I don't like him." I mumbled but told Joon Seok to forget everything I said a few seconds ago. "I'll just thank him tomorrow." I smiled at Joon Seok sunbae and prepared to compose a new song. But my thoughts always drifted somewhere else. 

"So Eun-ah." The record producer called me and caused me to look up. "Do you remember the mission I gave you once?" I slowly nodded. Joon Seok wanted me to approach Kris and to be friends with him, it was more difficult than I thought but I couldn't do this favor to him. 

"It turned out pretty good, but now since Hae Byeol is back in Gangnam to see Yifan, he becomes distant again. I don't want him to get hurt again though. Yifan and the other EXO members are free for this week, but I don't know if he will skip the practice because of her. He might be a bit flustered, but I really hope he knows what he's doing." Joon Seok explained to me, he was all serious. 

Joon Seok sunbae sipped the latte macchiato and smiled. "You seem to exert influence on Yifan, or at least more than other girls. I've never seen him with a girl except Jang Hae Byeol, Yifan barely meets anyone and talks to them. I've told you already, you need to give him some time so Yifan will open up. And who knows if he will start to like you?"

I laughed and shook my head. "Kris will rather end up dating this Jang Hae Byeol girl than to start liking me since he fell for her in high school." 

Kris and I have different opinions, personalities and lifes. But as they say, opposites attract. Is this supposed to mean that Kris and I attract each other? I don't know. 

My head was empty. I couldn't think of anything, no thoughts, no worries, only emptiness. I winced when I received a text message, the sound pulled me back to reality. 

" Come to the parking and get me a water bottle on your way. Hurry, I'm waiting. " 

I let out a sigh, but I remembered that I was still his slave. It didn't let me feel better. He was probably with Jang Hae Byeol, so why texting me when he only needed a water bottle? I would never understand Kris. 

"Joon Seok-ah, is it alright for you if I leave earlier? I don't know if I come back today, but Kris is calling me right now." I got up and grabbed my bag before waving goodbye to Joon Seok.

"It's alright and now hurry, before Yifan gets impatient." The record producer laughed and hurried to buy a watter bottle in the SM building. He's always impatient. 

I quickly exited the company and was just on my way to the underground parking until my phone rang again. It was Kris's number, but since I almost arrived despite my lateness, I didn't pick up. "Won't you answer the call?" I heard a voice behind me. I slowly turned around and looked up. "Are you waiting for something?" I gulped and shook my head. The person walked towards me and I didn't know if I should just go away or stand still. 

"Ahn So Eun, right?" She was indeed a graceful beauty, and for a moment she really looked like a gentle girl. "We haven't had the chance to meet properly. I am Jang Hae Byeol." She shook my hand and smiled at me. 

Jang Hae Byeol noticed my phone which was still ringing, but I didn't answer it. "It's Kris who's calling you, isn't it?" Jang Hae Byeol tilted her head and pointed on my phone. "I'm looking for him right now, but it seems as you two have plans." 

I observed her face, there was no sign of anything bad. She was ordinary, or at least she seemed like this. If I hadn't known that she did all these things to Kris, I would've said Jang Hae Byeol was perfect for him. 

People change, they say. Can people really change? Or do they only modify their behavior to suit the certain situation? Some people do, some people don't. 

"Aniyo, it's not like that. I only bought him something to drink." I smiled at Jang Hae Byeol and glanced at the watter bottle. 

Jang Hae Byeol laughed and gave me a gentle smile. "I can give it to him, if this is alright for you." 

I shook my head, telling her that I'd just
