Creating Fairytale
Se Ryeong certainly wasn’t expecting to be bumping into Baekhyun early in the morning as she reported for work. When Baekhyun’s familiar gaze landed on her after the lift doors slid open, Se Ryeong took a double take before quickly entering the lift and hitting her floor number, noticing the other digit that was lit up.
“Meeting with Kris this early?”
“Hmm,” Baekhyun hummed, staring at her reflection through the mirror doors. “How did your meeting go?”
Se Ryeong paused momentarily before recalling the excuse she’d came up with when she missed lunch with him. “It was resolved!”
“That’s great.” Baekhyun tugged his lips into a smile, but somehow something felt off about it. The lift dinged as they arrived at the finance department and Baekhyun’s smile vanished the moment the doors slid open. “Have a good day at work.”
Se Ryeong nodded her head while trying to wrap her mind around Baekhyun’s odd behavior. “Lunch later?”
“Sure.”
Muddled was an understatement for Baekhyun’s mind when Se Ryeong walked away from the closing lift doors. She still hadn’t told him about Jong In and he couldn’t help but wonder why. His only hope was lunch with Se Ryeong and he decided he’d continue to wait for her to come clean, even if there was a possibility she might keep mum about it forever. Was she expecting him to already hear it from Jong In? Or does she have difficulty telling him? Either way, Baekhyun knew he was whipped. He just couldn’t get mad at her regardless of her reasons, even if he knew she had caused him his chance to get Jong In kicked off for good.
“Good morning,” Baekhyun greeted as he entered Kris’ office. The man was on his couch savoring a cup of coffee with a sealed envelope lying on the coffee table.
“Fancy a cup?” Kris raised his mug with a grin. “HyunA bought me some really good roasted beans.”
“I’ll pass.” Baekhyun felt bitter enough and he didn’t need an actual bitter drink to add fuel to the fire. “What’s so urgent?”
“That factory we had our eyes on in Beijing is going to fold due to financial constraints. It’s a great opportunity for us to kickstart our business and I intend to fly in personally to acquire the factory before anyone else does. It’s also an opportunity to meet our potential business partners to identify who we’d most likely be working with. Issue is, I need you to come with me as Savv’s General Manager.”
“T-to China?” B
