Chapter 13: Nausea

PERIOD.

Even though I’ve fell for them.

But let’s face the reality here- they don’t love me.

So why would they want to bond with me?

Anyway, right after that...male who seemed to be...the boys’ uncle announced that , I suddenly felt something weird inside my body.

I couldn’t explain it.

My heart pained a lot- but I tried my best to hide it.

And when the Queen agreed to...the bond with giving us a month time, the pain became worse.

I don’t know if that’s a trick of my mind because I knew right then that there’ll be no going back to my dad; or...if something’s really wrong with me.

Oh and by the way, I do know about the bond.

And mate.

Krystal told me days before- and I’m thankful that she did.

For the mate thingy...well, just say that it’s rated for nineteen plus.

If you’re under age, don’t ask the authors of what the real word of mate meant.

Not like any of you will ask anyway.

But as for the bond...

The day when I was brought here and with all the explanation the Queen gave about I won’t be able to leave, I got a feeling that I won’t ever leave.

I’ll be stuck here.

And I’ll marry them no matter what.

Even though I denied it and kept on rebelling, I know that my attempts were all hopeless.

These vampires will get what they want.

And knowing that...I just hoped for one last thing, for me to remain human.

At least that way, I’d still have memories of my dad- I’ll still have something that’s in common with him.

They just had to make me bond with the twelve- which meant that they want me to be a vampire too.

The ball ended in a blur; and we were gathering in the lounge in awkward silence.

And my pain was getting worse too.

I don’t know why.

“Hana...” the Queen trailed off.

But I couldn’t bear the pain anymore.

It’s all over my body now.

My heart- mainly- my whole body...

It’s like someone pierced a needle in every single cell of my body.

They’re unbearable.

So I cut her off; telling them that I don’t want to talk about it now.

I went off to bed, and the pains had subsided- only a bit though.

But it was better than nothing.

And I was able to sleep.

In not a peaceful way at all.

The next day came, and the feeling of nauseous came the moment I regained my consciousness.

I ran to the bathroom to get ready for a puke- but nothing came out.

And after some moment, the nausea was gone.

The pains on my body had subsided completely too- or I wish so.

They were gone, except for the ones in my heart and my head.

OHGOD.

I don’t have a heart disease, right?

“Ah,” I winced in pain as the pain became unbearable.

And this time, it was my mouth.

What the hell?!

I don’t even remember eating candies and not brushing my teeth!

Ugh.

Whatever.

I did my daily routine- and when I looked in the mirror, I noticed something.

I looked...pale.

Like very pale, compared to my usual skin color.

But I shrugged it off- maybe it was because of the nausea earlier.

I went downstairs for breakfast- and I was a bit late, eventually.

When I came in- with a smile; they all looked at me.

But the usual smiles and scowls weren’t greeting me.

Instead, all of them were...shocked?

Yes, that explained their expressions.

Maybe they’re shock because I’m smiling- especially after last night’s incident.

I ignored their weird stares, and just went to my seat.

The room fell in silence- and I could feel multiple eyes burning holes on my head.

“I know you all expect me to go berserk and flip the whole kingdom literally- but I won’t do that,” I sighed.

“I’m just going to do this in a calm way- I’m not and never ever going to bond with- ACK!” suddenly, the pain in my mouth increased incredibly- whereas it wasn’t hurt at all a second before.

“Hana! What’s wrong?” the Queen asked worriedly.

“I-I’m f-fine,” I stuttered the words out.

“You look pale,” the King stated.

I only brushed his words off, and continued eating my breakfast.

Although my mouth hurt badly.

Along the breakfast, I could feel that some of them were throwing worry glances at me.

Wait a second.

How could I feel their little glances, when I’m not looking up at them at all?

Oh well.

I’m not going to care.

We finished the breakfast without words, and I went to my room afterwards.

My nausea came back a few times, but nothing came out when I tried to puke.

It was worse- to the point where I skipped both lunch and dinner.

I know it’s not good for health, but the pain was unbearable.

At night- after dinner, I presume- Suho came to my room.

“Hey,” he greeted with a small smile.

“Hey-” I stopped when the pain came back oh-so-suddenly.

Suho immediately rushed to me.

“Are you okay?” his eyes were full of concern.

“I told you, I’m fine,” I smiled weakly.

Suho sighed.

“You look really pale...as if someone bit you,” he tried to joke.

“Not going to happen,” I chuckled.

“At least they made me looked a bit like you guys, people might think I’m not a human,” I batted my eyelashes- trying to continue the cheerful atmosphere.

He laughed a little.

“You’re bad at lying, unfortunately,” he smiled gently- making my heart went boom and blood crept up to my cheeks.

“Aww, someone’s blushing,” he teased.

“Ugh, whatever,” I threw my head away to hide my red cheeks.

Not like it’s working anyway.

“I’ll let you rest first, you looked really tired right now,” he pecked my forehead, making me blushed deeper.

How I wish I could be buried alive right now.

“Night Hana,” he left the room.

I took some breaths to calm down- HE JUST DID THAT EEK!

Yeah, I was fangirling again.

Just when my heartbeat returned to normal, another five idiots came.

Namely, my friends.

“HIIIIII~” the happy virus is happy as always.

“Hi guys,” I greeted them back.

“You’re okay?” Xiumin sat on my bed.

“You look pale,” Lay commented.

I only smiled weakly as response.

“Do you want to eat anything?” D.O asked with concern.

“You skipped lunch and dinner.”

“No thanks, I could bear with it.”

“You look like a vampire...with that pale face,” Tao joked.

“I’d prefer zombie, thanks,” I chuckled.

The five also chuckled a bit at my lame joke.

“I’m not that okay,” I sighed.

“I’ve been feeling nauseous since this morning- but there was this...unexplainable pain since yesterday night,” I explained.

“Well...we’re vampires, and we don’t fall sick easily...” Chanyeol trailed off.

“And I can’t do anything to heal you if you don’t know the cause yourself,” Lay continued.

 “It’s okay,” I nodded in understanding.

“Well then, we should leave her to rest,” D.O shooed them out of my room.

“Night Hana,” all of them hollered as they exited the room.

Once they’re out, I went to the bathroom to wash my face.

I was hoping that the cold water could-

I splashed my face once again, then took another look in the mirror.

I sighed in relieve once I recognized the brown colored orbs called my eyes.

It was all hallucination...

Just seconds ago when I looked at the mirror, my eyes were...violet.

And it was completely impossible.

So...well, blame this nausea feeling for making me hallucinating stupid things.

I went out when I’m done with my night routine, and went to dreamland.

When she came down for breakfast- she was way paler than last night.

And it was almost like someone drained her out- like what I did last time.

I squinted my eyes around the room, trying to find the culprit this time.

But instead...all thirteen pair of eyes were squinting at me.

So they’re suspecting me...

Oh come on- I’m not going to make the same mistake twice.

I shook my head a little, giving them a sign that I didn’t do it.

We continued to look at her- even when she had finished half of her breakfast.

It was then, she broke the silence and said that she wouldn’t throw a fit.

But she said that she didn’t want to bond with us.

And...that actually made my heart wrench in pain.

She didn’t want to spend eternity with us.

Does she not love us?

All of us love her.

But suddenly, she winced in pain and held .

Seriously, she’s having a toothache?

She said she was okay though- even if she looked in great pain.

But she said so, and we just brushed that pain off.

However, her absence on lunch and dinner said the otherwise.

She’s not okay at all.

After dinner, some of my brothers went to check on her.

The rest of us waited in the dining room- we’re worried for her.

“It’s not getting better,” Suho came in.

“Where’s the others?”

“Here!” Tao exclaimed as he came with the other four.

“She’s getting paler- and it’s even a bit paler than us,” Lay explained.

“And she didn’t know the cause herself,” Xiumin-hyung continued.

Mom and dad sighed.

“Let’s just hope that she’ll be better tomorrow,” mom stated and she left with dad.

The rest of us also did the same- we went to our rooms for some sleep.

“AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!” a scream disturbed my slumber.

I shot my eyes open- and I knew exactly whose voice is that.

I scrambled out of my room, and dashed to Hana’s.

What happened to her?

I was panic, and my other brothers were.

We all arrived in front of Hana’s room almost at the same time.

“She locked them,” Sehun said as he tried to open the door.

Kris shoved him away, and kicked the door down.

We came in immediately- but she’s nowhere in her room.

“Where is she?” Kai yelled in desperation.

The windows weren’t opened- which meant that she’s still here.

“Wait-”

D.O shushed all of us- and we were able to hear clearly right now.

Faint sobs echoed from the bathroom.

“She’s crying?” I whispered.

Before anyone could retort or said anything else, mom and dad came.

They sent an accusing look to all of us- but we all shook our heads.

And our eyes were all displaying our worry for her- so he knew immediately that it’s none of our fault.

So the question now, what happened?

Mom moved closer to the door.

“Hana, what happened?” she knocked the door.

No reply came as she only sobbed harder.
