I'm in 1914 and Pie here is the girl in the picture, wow she's more beautiful in person. She looks very sweet yet I can sense the bossiness in her, hehe. She allowed me to stay in her manor for the time being, because I have no idea how to go back to my own time. Gosh, she's beautiful.. Hey shut up other Kim! You're stuck in the past and you're still drooling for that girl, even so, she really is beautiful. I don't mind being stuck here forever as long as I get to see her pretty face. Kim thought to herself as changes her clothes, she removes her jeans then something fell down. “What was that?” Pie asked as she turns a bit on Kim. “Hey, no peeking! That's my phone, it just fell from my pocket that's all.” Kim replied. “A phone that fits in your pocket? Let me see!” Pie turns around completely and ran towards Kim like a child, while Kim hurriedly puts on her new trousers. “Hey, easy.. still getting dressed here. Here you go, just don't drop it, it might get broken.” Kim hands her phone to Pie as she puts on her shirt and suspenders. Pie's eyes widened with curiosity as she examines the phone. “How could it be so little? Where are the wires and the buttons?” Pie curiously asked. Kim then grabbed her phone and accidentally touched Pie's hand. “Sorry.” Kim said as she blushed. “Well, in the future, we use radio frequencies and signals to communicate.” She unlocks her phone and shows Pie how it is done. Then she showed her music player and her camera which really amazed Pie. “Wow, a telephone, a record player and a two cameras in one device? What an amazing innovation. Do all of the people in the future have this device?” Pie asked. “Yes, well.. most of the people. Hey let's take a picture.” Kim opens her camera. “No, I don't want to. I hate posing for photos.” Pie replied. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you.” Kim apologizes. “No, it's just that whenever they took a photo me, it's always for the local news paper or for a rich gentleman that wants to marry me. My face is not a prize that's waiting to be claimed.” Pie sadly explains. “I see.. That's why you never smiled in all of your pictures, well except one. I wonder, what happened that day? Has it even happened yet? Say, let's explore this 1914 version of the manor.” Kim grabs Pie's hand but Pie lets go. “No! I mean, no, not yet. Father and mother are still here. They are not going to be happy when they see you. Tomorrow, they'll be gone then.” Kim smiles at Pie and sat down again.

“So, are all girls in the future like you?” Pie asked. “Like me?” A tom? Kim thought to herself. “Yes, like you. Educated, you're an architect right?” “Oh..Silly me. Yes, well most of us. Those who can afford education may enroll at any school of their choice.” Kim replied. “Wow, the future sure seems beautiful, everybody can make their own choices.” Pie sighed. “You know, I can take you back with me. That is if I figure out how to get back. Hehe..” Kim chuckles. “Silly! Hehe, I'd love to go to the future with you. Tell you what, I'll help you figure out how to go back to your time, so you can take me with you.” Pie smiles as she offered her hand to shake. “Deal, princess!” Kim took Pie's hand and shook it. Kim felt a sudden burst of warmth in her cheeks then quickly lets go of Pie's hand. Pie noticed it and laughed, it was the first time she had laughed in a long time. “What's wrong with you Kim? Hehehe.. Your face turned all red when you touched my hand. You may look like a boy, but we're both girls silly!” She looks so handsome though, if she were a boy ladies would definitely be flocking around her, and that will include me. HEY WHAT?! Pie that is absurd! You're both girls, there is no possible way a girl can fall in love with another girl. And she called me princess, no one's ever called me that. Sigh. A boyish girl from the future, what a mystery. Pie thought to herself. Yeah, it couldn't be more obvious Pie. Kim faked a smile.

Then a knock on the door disturbed their monologues. “Ms. Pie, it's me.” “Come in.” Mrs. Jean enters with two sets of meals. “Ms. Pie, I told your father that you are not feeling well that's why you cannot come for lunch. I did manage to sneak an extra set for Ms. Kim.” Mrs Jean then places the tray on the table and arranged the plates and silverware. “Well, those clothes suit you well Ms. Kim. You would make a handsome boy.” Mrs. Jean praises Kim, she blushed and smiles back. “Nana, thank you!” Pie hugged Mrs. Jean. “Why Ms. Pie, the last time you did that was when you were nine years old.” Pie blushed as she starts to prepare herself for the meal. She puts a white napkin on her lap, while Kim on the other hand starts to slice her food. They both stared at each other and wondered what the other was doing, then their eyes met. Kim smiles to loosen the tension then Pie starts to slice her food. After their meal, Pie decides to sneak out and brings Kim along. “Pie, I thought your parents are gonna freak out if they see me?” “We can't stay there all day, I'm bored and I want to show you something.” Pie pulls at Kim's sleeves as they quietly sneaked out to the garden. “Ah, freedom.” Pie breathes deeply as she stretched her arms. Kim looked at her, bathing in the sun and smiled. “So princess, what were you gonna show me?” “This, the garden. Isn't it beautiful?” Pie sat down and laid back her head. It really is beautiful, I didn't know it looked like this. Back in the future, these were all dead plants and broken things, nothing more. “By the way, why do you keep on calling me princess?” Pie asked Kim. “Well, because you look like one. I've never seen anyone as beautiful as you.” Kim replied with a sweet smile, Pie's hear skipped a beat. Her eyes followed Kim as she walks towards the roses and smells them. Are all the people from the future like you Kim? Are they as sweet as you? Pie thought to herself. Kim then sat next to her and looked at her phone. It says 3:00 pm August 7 2014. “I guess my phone doesn't know I time travelled huh? I wonder why I'm here.” Kim whispered. Pie heard and replied “Maybe you need to do something here? Things happen for a reason.” I was sent here to meet you? That's a good enough reason. Kim though. “Kim, do you have any news about me in the future? Whom did I marry, how many children I have.” Pie's question suddenly hit Kim like a sledge hammer. “Uhm, I'm not really sure Pie. This is the first time I've heard your name. I think it's not wise that we talk about your future. It might ruin the surprise in stored for you.” Kim chuckles. “There are no surprises for me Kim, my life has already been planned since the day I was born.” Pie sighed. “You always have a choice Pie, you just need to grab it.” Kim comforts Pie. “No Kim, maybe in your time it's possible but not in mine.” “Pie, you do have a choice. Despite of your fear of your parents, you're still here with me, and that is a choice. Remember Pie, you are the only one who can say yes or no to anything that involves your life, but you have to be strong enough to face the consequences of your choice.” Pie was amazed with Kim's answer, she then thought, she does have a choice. But Kim on the other hand, remembered her own choice when she was younger. She's still living the consequences of her choice now. “Kim, I think you were sent here to tell me that. Thanks Kim.” Pie smiled sweetly, but Kim was still waiting for her to smile the way she did in her photo. “Sure Pie.” They sat in the garden and chatted about what's it like in the future until sunset. Kim then stood up and offered her hand to Pie “Shall we go My Lady?” Kim smiles. “Being proper all of a sudden huh?” Pie giggled. “Well, if I'm going to stay here for a long time, I might as well act like a gentleman, or woman. What ever. Hehe..” Pie grabs Kim's hand and stood up, they sneaked back to Pie's room and washed up. Wow Kim, you've only been here for a day yet you taught me so much. Somehow, my world became bigger because of you. Thanks Kim, I wish I could be your friend. Pie thought to herself as she brushes her hair. I hope I can see her smile like that in person. Kim thought as she watched Pie.

Fate has moved its first piece, but will Time cooperate or will it go against them?
