“Ahh, morning is always amazing,” Himchan chuckled softly after he pulled himself out and laid next to his wife.

CL just rolled her eyes jokingly and giggled at her out-of-the-world happy husband. She was about to get up when he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her back into his embrace. “Where do you think you’re going, baby?” he pouted and she couldn’t help but smile at his cuteness. 

“Well, thanks to you, we left the kitchen in quite a mess,” she chuckled, poking the tip of his nose playfully – something that CL has grown to like doing.

“Just stay a bit longer,” he pouted again, hugging her tightly, “Please?”

Himchan might seem like his usual happy-go-lucky self but a hint of sadness could be heard in his voice. Only then CL remembered that he was leaving for Japan in a few hours. Only then she remembered that they would be apart for one whole month. Her heart suddenly felt so heavy in her chest and all she wanted to do at that moment was to hold him tight and never let go.

“Okay, okay. How can I say no to your aegyo,” she smiled before burying her face into his chest, inhaling his warm scent.

Almost a year has passed since their wedding. Spring was almost gone and summer was fast approaching. Of course, things weren’t always perfect. Life ain’t like a fairytale, and CL’s smart enough to know that. They had their fair share of downs but still, they managed to always climb back up and find their way back to each other. And because of that, she felt secure and happy.

CL exhaled a sigh as she snuggled closer and listened to his heartbeat. She didn’t want to let go. She just wanted to stay in his embrace forever. Deep down, however, she knew that she eventually had to let him go. It’s only for a month, right? It could’ve been worse. Besides, it’s for Himchan’s own sake – for B.A.P’s sake. They’re finally making their long-awaited Japanese debut and CL didn’t want her to be the reason for Himchan to hold back.

A sob unconsciously escaped . Surprised, Himchan immediately lifted her chin with his soft fingers and looked deeply into her eyes. “Baby, why are you crying?” his heart sank a bit when he saw tears in her eyes.

“Nothing, I’m just… I’m going to miss you,” she whimpered, hiding her face in the crook of his neck.

He pressed his lips to the top of her head as he tightened his arms around her body, “I’m going to miss you too. I promise that I’ll call you everyday so don’t worry, okay? We can have a video chat too if you want. Anything that makes you feel better.”

CL pulled back slightly and cupped Himchan’s cheeks. “Promise?” she asked and he nodded before kissing her passionately as if it were their last.

[CL’S POV]

It’s been two weeks since Himchan left and so far, he has kept his promise to call me everyday. And for that, I was glad and thankful. I have been quite busy myself. Album promotions have ended a while ago and now we’re back in the studio yet again. Keeping busy with 2NE1 stuff has really helped distract me from thinking of and missing Himchan too much, so it’s all good.

Today, like any other day for the past week, I kept myself preoccupied in the recording studio – writing and composing songs, hopefully, for our new album. I was too engrossed with work that I didn’t even realise it was already late. I was packing my things and about to leave when a notification sound on the computer stopped me. A smile immediately enlightened my face when I saw Himchan’s name on the screen. On a side note, I needed to remind myself in the future to always log off from everything before leaving.

“Hi, baby girl,” he greeted happily with a big smile as soon as I accepted his video chat request.

Oh how I missed seeing that cute smile of his. It’s only been two weeks but it sure did feel like forever. “How is my beautiful wife doing? Have you eaten your dinner yet? Did anyone bully my baby? Did you miss me?” he asked too many questions all at once that I just giggled like a little girl.

He finally stopped talking once he noticed that I wasn’t talking and just giggling at him. “I’m sorry, I just miss you so much,” he said, face palming himself.

“That’s okay, I understand because I’ve missed you a lot too,” I continued to giggle as his cheeks turned a light shade of pink.

It’s not everyday you could see Himchan being all shy and blushing. It was cute – too cute that I felt like squeezing him like a stuffed animal. We spent the next half an hour catching up – talking about random things and cracking some silly jokes – only to be interrupted by his phone ringing. At first, we just ignored it but the phone just wouldn’t stop ringing so Himchan decided to take the call.

I leaned back on the chair leisurely as I watched him talk on the phone. It seemed pretty normal in the beginning until a questionable smile appeared on his face and he soon disappeared completely from the screen as if he was hiding something from me. “Sorry about that,” he appeared back on screen; still with that unknown, mysterious smile.

“Who was that?” I asked coldly.

“That was uh- just- just some colleague,” he stuttered and I knew it right away that he was hiding something, whatever it was.

“Okay, whatever. I’m tired and it’s late. I’ll talk to you tomorrow,” I rolled my eyes before logging off without waiting for his reply.

It might seem childish to you, but this wasn’t the first time. He’s been having these secret phone calls since right after our honeymoon. It wasn’t that suspicious initially so I just shrugged it off. But it got worse after that breakdown I had on not being pregnant. Himchan would answer the calls and walk away so that he could talk privately. He never did that, not even when it’s work related. He has never kept any secrets from me. Never. Ever since then, I couldn’t help but suspect something was off with him.

[HIMCHAN’S POV]

I sighed heavily as I plopped down on the bed in the hotel room. She was mad, I could feel it, and I knew exactly why. It was all my fault. I wouldn’t deny that fact, no. But I couldn’t tell her anything either, not yet. Things weren’t supposed to be this complicated. She wasn’t supposed to find out. Not any sooner, at least. “Ugh,” I grunted, ruffling my hair roughly.

“What’s up with you?” asked Yongguk with a confused look.

“I think she’s found out,” I replied with a defeated voice.

Yongguk let out a sigh as he sat down next to me. “So she knows that you’re in contact with Annie?” he didn’t have to wait for my reply to know the answer, “Dude, you’re so stupid do you know that? Just tell her about everything. You can’t keep hiding things from her like this,” he continued with a stern voice.

I was about to say something when Daehyun and Youngjae suddenly barged into our room. “Hyung,” Daehyun panted, panic was written all over his face.

“What is it? What’s wrong?” Yongguk stood up, sensing there was trouble ahead.

“Himchan hyung, you need to see this,” Youngjae said with a shaky voice as he handed me his iPad.

I immediately stood up on my feet – mouth agape and eyes widened. I just stayed silent, my eyes glued to the iPad screen in my hand. “Himchan, what’s wrong?” Yongguk snapped as he took the iPad away from my grip and his eyes instantly widened upon seeing what’s on the screen.
