Baby Himchan

Slowly But Surely

The snow’s melting and the weather’s getting warmer, and the sounds of birds chirping and neighbours mowing their lawns started to fill the atmosphere. Winter’s finally coming to an end and spring’s approaching. Soon, the flowers would start blooming and the streets would be colourful once again. Both Himchan and CL have now resumed their busy schedules. B.A.P’s coming back in a couple of days and 2NE1’s in their final stage of album preparation.

CL was in the recording studio with Teddy and two other YG producers, doing some final touches on their songs when a girl suddenly peeped her head through the door, surprising everyone. Especially, CL. “Oh my god, Hyerin!” she screamed on top of her lungs as she jumped off her chair to hug the girl.

“Annyeong,” greeted the girl with a happy smile.

“When did you get here? How long are you staying? Where are you staying? How’s everyone in Japan? How’s Aki? Have you heard anything from Yumi?” CL’s questions seemed to be endless.

Poor Hyerin, she just stood there, giggling at her older sister. “Eonnie, calm down. I just got here like an hour ago. One question at a time, please,” she chuckled.

“Oops, sorry!” CL chuckled.

She then took her sister to the lounge room, where it was quieter and they could have more privacy. There were a lot of questions that CL wanted to ask but she’s sparing them for later. For now, she’s just so glad to see her sister after months being separated from each other. Like herself, Hyerin’s sent to Japan to study and she’s now in her senior year of high school. Hyerin only comes back to Korea during her summer vacation so CL was quite shocked to see her during this period of time.

“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming back? Wait, don’t you have school? This is definitely not the holiday season,” asked CL, curious and confused.

“Well, I decided to take a few days off and come visit you here. Besides, I couldn’t attend your wedding so I feel a bit guilty about that,” replied Hyerin, “I kind of owe it to Himchan oppa, though. Everything’s actually his idea. He even paid for my plane tickets,” she continued, leaving CL open-mouthed.

“Himchan did what?” CL asked, blinking her eyes repeatedly in confusion.

“You’ve married the right man, eonnie,” Hyerin giggled and a tint of pink could be seen forming on CL’s cheeks.

After a while talking and catching up, CL decided to take Hyerin to her apartment and maybe introduce her to Himchan – if he happened to be home. Hyerin was beyond excited to finally meet her brother-in-law. She’s only talked to him on the phone, so far and heard stories from her parents. How he even found ways to contact Hyerin remained a mystery to both the Lee sisters, though. CL has never even mentioned anything about her sister’s existence to Himchan before. But no matter what, she was still very grateful for everything that her husband has done for her.

The girls were chitchatting cheerfully when they entered the apartment. The joy, however, didn’t last long. The smile on CL’s face slowly disappeared when she saw the B.A.P boys in her apartment. They looked at her with unreadable expressions and the atmosphere suddenly turned so dark. CL could feel something was definitely not right. “What are you guys doing here?” she asked, confused.

“It’s Himchan,” said Yongguk.

“H-Himchan? W-what about Himchan?” CL stuttered.

Was Himchan involved in a car accident? Did he die? Did he want a divorce? Was she not good enough for him? Was he getting back with Hyosung? A lot of things came rushing into her mind when Yongguk mentioned his name with that weird, creepy tone. CL was mentally panicking and though she tried so hard to hide it, Yongguk did notice.

He heaved a sigh as he looked down on the floor. A sign of guilt could be seen on his face. “Something happened during our practice earlier today and he injured himself rather badly,” he explained.

“What?!” cried CL, her heart suddenly sank at the thought of Himchan being injured.

“It’s nothing serious, though. He just broke his arm. But the doctor advised him not to perform anything heavy so our management decided to let him rest for the next three weeks which means… he won’t be able to perform with us on stage. And he’s pretty upset about that,” Yongguk continued to explain.

“Where is he now?” asked CL, concerned.

“In his room since four in the afternoon. He wouldn’t let any of us in. I think you better go talk to him,” said Yongguk and CL didn’t waste a second as she immediately rushed into Himchan’s room.

[HIMCHAN’S POV]

I was really looking forward to our comeback. We’ve done a lot of comebacks for the past year but somehow this one was a little bit different. It’s a bit more special than our previous comebacks mainly because I got more parts in our songs this time around. I worked hard for it. I earned every bit of it. Thus, it really killed me inside when the doctor told me that I needed to rest. All my hard work and effort for the past few months have gone down the drain just like that.

I hated myself. I hated myself for being so careless. I hated myself for not being strong enough. I hated myself for being injured. I knew that it was just an accident and that accidents happen all the time but why now? Why now? I couldn’t help but to blame myself for everything. I knew I shouldn’t but I just couldn’t help it. I went straight back home from the hospital and locked myself in my room. The other members were probably worried about me but I just needed some time alone.

I’ve been sitting on my bed, frozen and just staring at the empty wall in front of me for hours. The boys took turn knocking on my door; checking if I were okay but I ignored them. I felt a bit guilty about that, though. They’re probably worried sick about me and yet here I was, sulking like it was the end of the world. So pathetic. Several minutes later, I could hear someone opened the door slowly but I didn’t turn to look at who it was.

“Hey,” said a soft, female voice – it’s CL, it’s my wife.

I smiled a little when I heard her voice but I managed to hide it by looking down at my feet. “Are you okay?” she asked as she sat down on the floor, right in front of me.

Her voice was shaky. I could feel that she was genuinely concerned about me. My heartbeat slowly increased its speed. Her soft, beautiful voice was enough to heal the pain I felt at that moment. “Channie, please say something,” she said again but I still wouldn’t say anything, I didn’t even know why.

She took my uninjured hand and held it tightly. “Channie, look at me,” she said but still, I ignored her, “I said look at me, Channie,” she said again, lifting my chin up with her fingers to make me look at her.

Her eyes were really beautiful but they were filled with worries and sadness at that moment. I suddenly felt guilty for ignoring her. I didn’t mean to. I was just being stupid and selfish. “Is your arm okay? Does it hurt?” she asked softly and I just shook my head.

“Are you okay?” she asked again while brushing the back of my palm softly; her touch sent thousands of electric feels all over my body.

“They won’t let me perform on stage, Chaerin,” I whimpered and tears slowly formed in my eyes.

“Channie, I know that you were really looking forward to this comeback stage but your health is more important,” she said, trying to comfort me, “Come on, this is not the Channie I know. The Channie I know is much stronger than this. He is not a quitter and he definitely won’t let any negativities bring him down,” she continued, looking straight into my eyes and I couldn’t help but to start crying like a baby.

She got up on her knees and pulled me closer only to hug me tightly. “Cry, if that makes you feel a lot better. I’m here for you, Channie. You can cry on my shoulder all night long if you want to,” she said as she patted my back lightly.

I sobbed hard in her embrace upon hearing that. It was embarrassing but I didn't care at all. But is it weird if I said that I was crying because I was happy to have such a caring wife rather than because I was injured? Because that was the honest truth. I was beyond overjoyed to have Chaerin as my wife. It was a bless. She was a blessing sent to me straight from heaven. Cheesy? Maybe to you but not to me.

[CL’S POV]

Himchan finally stopped crying after several minutes. “Sorry,” he said softly, his head still burrowed in my shoulder.

"It’s okay,” I assured, though I didn’t really get why he had to apologise in the first place.

I pushed his shoulders away slightly, careful not to hurt his injured arm. I brushed the locks hiding his eyes away and gave him a smile, hoping that would cheer him up. I then cupped his face and motioned him to look at mine. “Everything’s going to be alright. This is only one of the many comebacks so please don’t beat yourself too much. You’re stronger than this, Channie. I know that you can pull through this,” I said and a smile finally appeared on his face.

He leaned closer only to kiss me on my lips. His kiss was sweet and gentle. Butterflies began dancing in my stomach oh so gracefully giving me this weird, tingling feeling. I felt like I was floating in air right at that moment.

My current position, however, was rather uncomfortable and my knees were starting to hurt a little. So I slowly got up and sat on his lap facing him, without breaking our kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he held my waist tightly with his uninjured hand. Our kiss suddenly became more passionate as he slipped his tongue into my mouth, exploring every corner of it. This awesome feeling that I felt when he did what he did at that time was something foreign to me but I liked it. No, I loved it.

I unconsciously began grinding my hips out of pleasure and a moan immediately escaped his mouth. My eyes widened as I pulled away from the kiss to catch my breath. “I-I’m sorry,” I stuttered, my heart pounding faster and faster every second.

He brushed my hair with his fingers to the side of my face as I looked at him with shocked eyes and he gave me a peck on the lips. “No need to be sorry,” he said softly with a smile, “You don’t know how y you are right now, Chaerin. Too y,” he whispered to my ears with a dangerously y voice and he began leaving light kisses on my forehead before moving to both my cheeks then to my jawline and finally to my neck.

“H-Himchan,” I stuttered, almost like a moan, “The boys are waiting for you outside. They’re worried about you,” I continued while he was still kissing and nibbling on my neck.

“I- don’t- care,” he said between kisses.

“My sister’s here too, Channie. We can’t do this now,” I said and he finally stopped.

He looked at me with a very disappointed face. “Why do they always have to be here when we’re having our moment?” he asked, pouting his lips cutely.

“Maybe it’s not the right time yet, Channie. Be patient. We’ll have kids sooner or later,” I chuckled and I could see from the corner of my eyes that he was smirking happily.

He pulled me closer for another kiss before he let me get up to stand back on my feet. “Let’s go and shoo the boys so we can make some babies,” he chuckled as he grabbed my hand.

“Channie! That’s not nice. Besides, my sister’s here too, remember? And she’s really excited to see you,” I said, nudging him with my elbow quite roughly that he winced in pain, “Oh my god, I’m so sorry. I forgot that you were injured,” I panicked.

Once again, he gave me his cute, pouty face. “You’re so going to regret that later,” he smirked that mischievous smirk before dragging me out of the room to see the boys and Hyerin.

Right. Hyerin. I’ve totally forgotten about her. I left her alone with six strangers in the living room. Hopefully, she didn’t freak out or anything. The boys better be nice to her or they’d surely going to get it from me!
