Even as you tried to hide near the walls, various boys invited you to dance before being whisked away by a far more willing participant.

After rejecting for the 30th time, you glanced around to look for a better hiding spot, a soft voice questioned, "Do you not like parties?"

Whirrling around, you saw an unfamiliar face with a curious expression.

Shaking your head, you let out a soft, "No."

Surprisingly, the boy smiled widely at you, "Then do you want to dance with me?"

You couldn't help but give the boy an odd look, he blinked, "Oh! Sorry! I'm Tao, Huang Zi Tao. I'm a junior and I really don't want to be here but if I dance with another girl they won't leave me alone so I thought since you don't really seem to be doing anything-"

"Okay."

Tao stared at you, "Really?!"

A small smile graced your lips, "Mhmm."

Being the gentleman that he was, Tao cautiously placed a hand on your waist and took your other hand as the two of you waltzed around the ballroom floor.

He entertained you with funny stories about EXO and of his dislike for parties such as the one he was attending now.

XiuMin came down on the stairwell with Kris and Lay, "Whoa, isn't that your girlfriend and Tao?"

Kris gave XiuMin an electrifying glare before turning his attention to you and Tao.

Lay mused, "Well looks like Tao might be a bigger man than Wu Yi Fan over here."

Rolling his eyes, Kris strolled down the stairs where his father stopped him.

"It's been an hour yet you haven't danced with one prospective queen yet, don't make me force you."

Kris sighed, "I understand father."

"Good. Don't let me down."

Glancing to his right, Kris grimaced at the throngs of girls batting their eyelashes at him.

He couldn't help but snap his attention to you, especially now that he knew you were willing to dance.

Kris' eyes scanned the room until they landed on LuHan, making his way over to his best friend, LuHan smiled warmly, "Enjoying?"

Making a disgusted expression, Kris snorted, "I'd much rather stay in the library and hear you fawn over books."

LuHan rolled his eyes, expression lighting up in delighted surprise to see you, "That's my girl."

Kris blinked, "You know her?"

Nodding, "Since I was four. She doesn't really pay much attention to me though, but I know her enough to know that she trusts me. She just doesn't act loud and open to anyone, that's just the way she is. Silly ice princess."

"Do you think she'd be okay if I asked her to dance?"

LuHan stared at Kris as if he had spoken in an alien language, "YOU?"

Kris deadpanned and stared at him.

Trying to save his outburst, LuHan laughed nervously, "Hehe...I'm sure she'd be more than delighted to dance with you...not really but still!"

He glanced up to see his father sternly staring down at him, "Well...now or never or else I might be stuck with a chattering leech for the whole evening, if you excuse me-"

Watching his best friend's back, LuHan smiled knowingly, "Showing interest? In ________ too...I hope things work out for the both of them.*

As the last trill of the song quieted, you were surprised to see that you were enjoying yourself.

Tao's eyes lit up, "Oh! Gege!"

Before you could turn around, a smooth voice asked, "May I have this dance?"
